I have been watching and reading the many points of view spewed by the left in America over the last few weeks. What was that famous saying from Rahm Emmanuel, now Mayor of Chicago (God help the city), that you never let a crisis go to waste? As I reported in a previous post, the lamestream media tried to tie the murdering scumbag Holmes in Aurora, Colorado, to the Tea Party. Then the same breathless lamestreams jinn up the debate about "gun control", along with the help of that RINO, Mayor Bloomberg of New York. The insanity never ends apparently, even that practised by those claiming smart.
Thomas Sowell has a great article on the gun control issue. HERE is his take. He uses the word propaganda to decribe the shameless lamestream media in their pursuit of an agenda. I agree with his analysis and would add they also have no respect for the dead. Though they are mostly liberals (lamestreamers vote 90% democrat) and are self proclaimed "in touch" with their emotions, they sure pursue the relatives of the murder victims for a scoop. They try and make the person cry, they are shameless.
But as bad as the left really are in their hypocrisy they are always focused on "gun control" and abortion "rights" and never stray. Got a murder, intimate a right winger, want to give condoms to fifth graders at school, claim the right has a war on women. It matters not the level of ridiculousness, the left always brings the issue back to a "rightwing" effort to restrict some "right" the left believes in. Even though the proof is quite the opposite.
I am fascinated how the left, when in power, will pass a plethora of laws restricting people rights and behaviours (smoking, helmets, jaywalking) and then claim the right wants to tell people what to do in their bedrooms! Hell, the folks in major cities across America can't even eat a tranfat or drink a cola in a 24 ounce cup! A RINO like the Mayor of New York (actually he changed his registration from democrat when he first ran so he could get Rudy Guliani's endorsement) is the "panderer in chief" for these social experiments.
Same with guns. The left acts as if taking the gun from the law abiding person will solve violence. As Thomas Sowell has pointed out the truth is the opposite. Look at Washington DC for instance. They had the strictest gun laws yet the highest murder rates for years. Same in Chicago. We folks with a brain know it is the person not the weapon. A murderer bent on killing will use whatever is available. You just can't stop them unless of course there is an armed person in the target group. We never hear of the people who fend off the killers do we? The NRA has some stats I have seen before that indicate two million crimes were avoided because the perps were scared off by an armed citizen. We need to see those stories more often.
Then we have the Penn State mess. They even removed the statue of oe Paterno from the campus last week. The NCAA fined them 60 million bucks (a estimated one years take from football) and banned the team from four or five years of post season play and took a bunch of scholarships away. All because Jerry Sandusky, a scumbag molester and some others who should have done something to prevent the abuse, turned their heads away. Those people were responsible and should be punished severely. I would accept castration of Sanduky, but the left would say that is "cruel and unusual" I bet. Anyway, my view is they are punishing all the young men who had nothing to do with the crime. Why take all the victories away and why impose a team punishment when it was the leaders who need to be punished? Maybe this view is not PC but I feel bad for the hundreds of young men who are being punished for doing absolutely nothing wrong. They did not even know Sandusky was a molester, yet they are forced to be thrown into his punishment.
Romney is being pressured to release his tax returns back to the stone-age and I say, don't do it Mitt. Do what is required by law and screw the critics. All releasing them will do is give fodder for the opposition and the fact you were successful will be used against you endlessly. Hell, they have been bashing you anyway and thankfully you have started to return fire. Funny how the lamestreams don't report daily on your charitable giving and volunteer work over the years isn't it? Of course Joe Biden, the President of Vice, gave what, $20 to charity and that is adored by the lamestreams. My God, what a upside down world the press has created.
So, success is now a bad thing according to the democrats. When asked why she is demanding Romney release his returns and she is refusing to release hers, Nancy Pelosi said something like . well, I am not running for President. Yeah right Nancy, you were third in line for the job as Speaker. You are just a hypocrite liberal. Besides, you and your hubby are millionaires aren't you? How dd you get that money and where is it parked? We need to know. Then we have the DNC babe Wasserman-Schultz screaming Romney has overseas accounts while she has them too. Amazing hubris. But dutifully, the amestream stenographers of every word Obama and the democrats speak show no desire to purse the truth on the lefty pals of theirs.
In California, we have the scandal of the Parks Department hiding 55 million bucks while claiming no money in the till. This is the tip of the iceberg in my view. When you look at your cell hone bill for instance, you will see a number of "special" taxes and/or exaction's listed there. Each one probably raises millions of dollars from us. Where is the accountability of that money. Do we get a GAO report for our money? Does the Controller audit these funds? My guess is we overpay billions of dollars every year yet all we hear from gubmint is "send us more", and now "vote for an increase in November". This is what we have allowed in America.
Whew! I am a skeptic about gubmint. I was an elected official for eight years and I saw the sausage being made. I saw the money pouring in and it was up to us to oversee it's expenditure in a rational and logical way. In our little county we have always been very austere and the reserves show that is true. If the state ran itself as Nevada County does (there have been a couple f screwups though) we would not be in deficit. But until there is a backbone in Sacramento and DC to spend only as much or less than comes in, we will be talking about this mess forever.
Didn't you know Todd? Those special taxes on your phone bill go to pay Russ Steele for his consulting gig on broadband access in the central Sierra. Not that I think there is anything wrong with that, cause I don't, but just thought you would want to know! So is Russ a self-interested, grant-seeking, communist sucking at the teat of big government?
ReplyDeleteFrisch
Nice try but no cigar. I am more interested in how these taxes and fees are put into being. The tax from the 1898 Spanish American War was finally booted last decade. When you look at any bill, phone, gasoline, electricity on and on, the politicians have put a grab on them. Now we have an internet sales tax being considered in closed door session in the US Senate.
DeleteRegarding taxes and non-profit expenditures, I am more interested in the waste we have in our country with eco/business scams. Know any?
No Todd I don't know any scams. But I do know that I work on projects that are funded from the very same source that Russ' are, and you call mine scams, and his fine. CASE CLOSED BOZO.
ReplyDeleteFrisch
I see Frisch is acting 12 again. What a hoot!
DeleteFunny how all eco "non profit" org.s in one form or another is run by Progressives that drive expencive cars and have high dollar homes.
DeleteLast I checked, it takes making a profit to afford those things. So someone is getting hosed.
What kind of a car do you think Frisch drives Walt? Who pays for the gas, insurance and maintenance?
DeleteGreatings Todd from Dallas Tex. I have been sharing your site and comments
ReplyDeletewith others here at the Glenn Beck shindig. Some of my new friends sure get a laugh out of some of our local Lefty comments. With any luck, you may get some new readers from the East coast, and points in the middle.
It was Constitution brushup day today, with some well known Speakers on the subject. I found I needed to rework some things in the argument dept.
( know your apponants side of the game better than he does.)
I got a good taste of that today. I had to argue in favor of gun control, and flag burning. ( I lost those quick)
We get to meet Glenn tomarrow.(somehow scored VIP access tickets,,,COOL!! Maybe because I have a Rough&Ready address? I really don't know.)
It's going to be a long week out here, but fun and informative.
We are prooving Ca. isn't 100% LIB,since that is what most people think these days.
DAMN it's hot out here...LOL Will check in tomarrow and give an update.
BTW,, What size T-shirt do you wear Todd? I will bring you one or two.
Walt, how cool, you are in Texas at a GB show! As you can see the Frisch is being a baby again in the above post. That boy is so immature! LOL! Anyway say hello to Beck and tell him there are some fellow conservatives still living in the land that killed the golden goose out west.
DeleteI watched Lord Moncton at a hearing in Sacramento today. He was there discussing the hoax of global warming (manmade) and the scams of eco nut groups like those from Truckee. He also discussed Agenda21. It was great.
I wear a XX since I am 220 lbs and 6-4". Belly getting a bit too big. I am starting to look a bit like Frisch! Yikes!
Have a great time and thanks for spreading my blog around!
Walt, can you please stay in Texas? Nice and hot (he he), lots of cement, shopping centers and developments, and oil and gas. Whats not to like? LOL.
ReplyDeleteIf Walt stayed in Texas, you would have to do your own dirt work and we know how whiny lazy liberals are.
DeleteA Glen Beck shindig with VIP access? That is absolutely hilarious. A sucker is born every day!
ReplyDeleteWalt, do you ever actually work, or are you one of the takers in our country?
Beck is donating 1 million meals to the homeless. You lkiberals are just hilarious in your envy of people who actually help. Go to your room.
DeleteCouldn't care less. Beck creates fear, anger and paranoia in many vulnerable people like Walt, and the damage far exceeeds his insincere deed for publicity.
ReplyDeleteRobert, get off the couch, get your clothes on and get out into the world. When is the last time you washed your PJ's.
DeleteBeck does more for people than all you libs have done and he does it without taxpayers money. You people are just jealous. But, hey, as long as you sit in front of the monitor and eat bon bons, you are the problem, not the solution.
lol. Who stays home these days?
DeleteActually Beck was fired by Fox for being too loony even for them.
Nuff said.
Please show us the proof. Oh, you can't? You people are soo funny!
DeleteJust got home. what a week. The stadium was at capacity.
ReplyDelete( It must suck to be Rob) Have I got some things to tell ya'.
Todd. Got you some shirts as promised. Now to drop from exhaustion
from helping making other peoples lives just a little bit better at my (our) expense. I put two full days in working to rehab a halfway house for addicts.
The story on that will follow.
Rob,,May I suggest you get past your hatred and see the vid.s, read the articles hear the stories from those that where there.
Beck had his ears everywhere. Somehow he found out something about me that happened at the last minute. I was told days later just, by chance that he had heard out it. That will be told later as well.
GOD!! WHAT A TRIP!! ( and not the kind Rob takes. LOL)
LOL! Maybe Beck will hire you to dig ditches at his estate.
ReplyDeleteThat's all ya' got? Like I thought. Down in the basement, sitting your boxers, gutter sniping away. People with your attitude will always be around. I could use a vary nasty comparison that would fit to a tee,( something in the news lately)but won't.
ReplyDeleteLike I said. Sucks to be ya'.
Huge follow up story coming tomorrow regarding Romney lack of candor on taxes. CNN has corroborated Harry Reid's source and is sticking with that story! Willard the Mitt apparently ZERO taxes for an extended time. ZERO taxes for a guy making tens of millions per year! Not exactly what Americans want in a leader, especially after the Wall Street/banking/1% fiasco of the last few years.
ReplyDeleteMitt is boxed in now and on the defensive. Mitt, lets see the returns...it gets worse and worse for the Mittster!
As a commentator tonight on Huff Post says:
"The real problem for the Romney campaign is that they are not even skilled liars.
Anyone who is over the age of 8 can take a look at Romney's nervous giggle and tap dance around the question of whether he has ever paid less than 14%, his subsequent promise to "look into it" (which he never has)and tell that is a bald faced lie.
The Bush administration,.. now those guys could lie with skill. "
Golly, I was looking for that huge follow-up story and I just can't find it Robert. Give me a link.
DeleteAnd regarding the overriding issue of the time- from Huff Post:
ReplyDeleteThe government could have cut the unemployment rate to as low as 5 percent by now "if we had spent enough to do it," said Dean Baker, co-director of the left-leaning Center for Economic and Policy Research. A government stimulus focused on hiring workers to repair infrastructure would be "the quickest way" to ease the jobs crisis, he said.
Baker said congressional Republicans supporting austerity are not the only ones to blame. President Barack Obama has not explained to the country why the economy is in crisis and how another stimulus would help. Baker pointed to President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who explained the Great Depression and how to get out of it during his fireside chats on the radio.
"I don't think [Obama's] really tried to do that, and in some ways he's actually done the opposite," Baker said. "Now, everyone's got a TV, most people have the Internet. I just can't believe that people would have a more difficult time grasping basic economic principles today than they did in the '30s."
Betsey Stevenson and Justin Wolfers, economics professors at the University of Michigan, noted in a recent Bloomberg View column that 92 percent of leading economists agree that the stimulus helped reduce the unemployment rate, according to a February poll conducted by the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business. In July, Wolfers called Congress' refusal to consider another stimulus "an enormous dereliction of duty."
DERELICTION OF DUTY. NEAR TREASON. UNPATRIOTIC, these Tea Party House Members.
Sorry to inform you Robert but please, 92% said the "stimuli" lowered the unemployment rate is not factual. The money was to go to "shovel ready" projects as stated many times by Obama and Pelosi/Reid yet only 6% went to infrastructure. The money went to states whose governors were FOO's, Friends of Obama, and propped up teachers unions and civil servant unions. So, the theft of our money is owned 100% by the democrats and Obama. Not one R voted for that theft. Same with Solyndra and the other 6-7 billion given to FOO's in the green eco industry. All failures. You liberals decry the tax credits or tax breaks of oil and coal yet they are tiny compared to the outright gift of the taxpayers money to FOOs. The democrats should be arrested and Obama defeated and they just might be in November.
