Debt Ceiling Follies, Obama and Democrats MIA

I have to admit once again I am a political junkie and I love all this stuff.  But things are now really serious.  Our country is on the brink of economic collapse say the politicians and I ask myself who and what caused this and if it is true how do we save America?  Nightly we get the same old crap from the left that all this terrible economic mess is caused by Republicans and the bogeyman, George W. Bush.  The Republicans rightly point to Obama and the democrats.

Obama ran for office, no one forced him to raise and spend a billion bucks to secure the Presidency.  We heard incessantly for two years that he was going to fix the country and repair the economy and save us all.  He told us that over and over and over.  The fawning sycophant press dutifully did their jobs as his stenographers and conveyed the "messiah's" message to everyone.  The man could walk on water, stop the oceans from rising and make our owee's better.  Well, where are we?  He told us again that IT IS GEORGE W. BUSH"S fault!!!! Amazing!

His speech last night was the most childish, infantile speech I have ever heard a President of the Unites States give in my lifetime (he is no Ronald Reagan).  He is an embarrassment.  He has no plan and his budget was defeated 97-0 and yet the butt kissing press never holds him accountable.  At least the Republicans in the House have sent a number of plans (bills) to the Senate.  Harry Reid and his band of  merry men in tights just keep defeating them.

We have a self made crisis by our political class and they can't seem to get to first base.  If the people of America want to see why there is total dysfunction, look at the democrats.  At least the Republicans are voting and passing their attempt at solutions.  I want to see bold action and in my view the House should vote every single day on a plan, (tweak it a bit and claim it as new), and send it over to Harry Reid for a round file demise.  Obama of course will keep squealing about "balanced approach" yet will keep shouting veto.  Amazing.

HERE is the latest on the Republican House and the desire of the conservatives for even bolder action in regards to the budget and debt.  The issue is really the out of control spending.  All this angst about the debt ceiling and Moody's and S and P ratings for our bonds are going to  be realized regardless apparently.  The spending must be repaired to a balance.  There I used the word.  Balance.  Yes, as in balanced budget.  Don't spend more than we bring in.  What is it that allows all these grown men and women in DC to place trillions of dollars on the backs of our children?  They are immoral for God's sake.  To pay for a can of beans today with a dollar my grandchild has yet to earn? 535 men and women, plus the "messiah" and we get 1.6 TRILLION more in the hole!

Obama is erratic and undisciplined and he changes his mind on a whim.  This tells me he is poll captured.  Everyday a set of new polls dictate his actions and because humans are not monolithic in thought (except liberals most of the time) Obama can't decide anything.  He has no plan, written or otherwise, yet demands "compromise".  Of what?  Don't two sides present their plans and if different, sit down and hash it out to come to a "compromise"?  Well, I am sick and tired of the lefts demand for a "compromise", without them having a plan.  If the embarrassing mainstream media would inform the people of the truth rather than being Obama and Reid's cheerleaders, the country could get the correct information to make an informed decision.  But they don't so people like me and thousands of others are trying to get out the word.

I am imploring the political class in Washington DC to stop charging the credit card my grandkids are being asked to pay back.  Stop the spending, balance income and outgo.  America is too valuable to the planet for 536 people to wreck it.  You are wrecking it.  Stop the madness, stop the spending, stop the immorality of burdening our grandkids with monstrous debt.  Do the right thing and do it now.  If you don't, America will throw your sorry butts out and call you all liars for a political stunt gone awry.

  1. Obama, with his bully pulpit power, and Reid are going to win the day in this fight. Bumbling Boehner done got caught between a rock and a hard place and he's back to square one with his bogus budget. OOPS. Trying to please the few loons of the Tea Party is a loser. After 2012, they'll basically be a footnote.

  2. Wrong again but that's just the way it is. Boehner is between a rocka and a hard place. He has to balance all the inputs and I don't envy him in the least. Regading his plan. At least he has one. Have you seen Obama's or Reid's? Nope because they don't have one. How you can belittle the Tea Party who simply want America to survive is beyond my belief synops.

  3. You survive as a nation by living in the world of 2012, and quickly solving the debt crisis through a common sense, balanced approach favored by almost everyone bu the most extreme. Negotiation means give and take, and the vast majority of Americans simply want a balanced approach, where the wealthest of the wealthy people and corps do their patriotic duty. Rigid ideology is guaranteed to backfire in 2012, and as I say, Obama will get the last word here.

  4. Balanced approach is the latest phrase polled and used by the left. Sure, I can agree to balanced approach as in balanced budget. Why do you insist on calling people who want a balanced budget as extreme? Does that in your lingo mean someone who believes in spending trillions of debt dollars mainstream? I think we are having a difference of opinion on definitions of words. Please explain your definition of "extreme".

  5. The federal govt. is not in any way comparable to a private business or household. They are responsible for our SOCIAL contract, national defense and assistance for less fortunate, REAL PEOPLE who need help and will not get it without govt. assistance. Except for the defense part, it sounds pretty Christian to me. Businesses and families have no such responsibilities. Theres is all about their self interests- greed if you will. I realize the Tea Party believes in "every man and women for himself" and has a perpetual vision of the Marlboro man in their brain. They are extreme because they are not living in the reality of our nation, our WORLD of 2011. This is not 1776, 1787 or 1950. Everyone needs to chip in, especially those who's lives will not change with a small change in their tax status.

  6. Are you then in the 50% who pay federal taxes or rhe 50% who don't? Would you say everyone needs to be apart of the solution? Also, your definition of extreme is very lacking. I am unclear what you mean when you say they are trying to return to 1776 when they live in the present. America has a Constitution that lists the individual rights which government cannot take. Do you agree? Also, if business and individuals only care about themselves how do you explain the donations from them in amounts no other country has ever achieved? Is that giving a sign of selfishness?

  7. Individual rights has nothing to do with this current stalemate. Lets get this debt crisis solved through compromise- serious cuts and revenue increases- then you can debate phrases in the Constitution. We can all thank the radical Repubs and the insane Tea Party for a 2% stock market drop today, and 4 straight down days. The American people are tired of their mindless unwillingness to bend and compromise.
Oh yes, I pay plenty of taxes.

  8. I think the issue is spending not revenues (taxes) They bring in 200 billion a month and spend 300 billion. Why do you think they are in the hole? Amazing. The Tea Party wasn't around when the bubble burst in 1999. That was on your watch. We can do a tit for tat on everything but your lack of respect for individual rights in the Constitution is quite telling. Do you pay federal taxes? My guess is you don't.

  9. I am starting to really wonder what an original thought from Chase would look like. Come on Chase let's see what you can come up with. Just try it. Sit down, take it easy, and come up with something on your own. I realize that it will be difficult and that you may be a little scared but I bet you can do it and you will be proud of yourself when you do. Have a little confidence!

  10. LOL..that from a guy who's yet to make a thoughtful post, on any actual political topic.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Todd, what does individual rights have to do with this current debt crisis?

    ReplyDelete
  12. Well since all of us individuals are being asked (told) to pay it back, I would say it might be a prescient issue. Once a government cares not about you individually, they end up caring not for everyone.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Sorry Chase, nice dodge, but it doesn't work. Once again you aren't doing yourself any good.

    ReplyDelete
  14. My Goodness, Chase is a parrot of the favorite far-left talking points of the day.

Hey Chase, stop pretending you have a clue. Mindless regurgitation(s) is not a substitute for intelligence or critical thinking abilities.

Furthermore, your world view is that of any garden variety socialist. I would submit that France or Norway is a better fit for you and your fool's ideology.

  15. Todd,
So you're going to tell me with a straight face that the Republican internal implosion we're seeing is GOOD for the party going into 2012?
Although the impact on the world markets will be devastating, Obama and the Dems couldn't have asked for a better political gift to fall into their lap! (cue up the sound of chops being licked..)

  16. One can only smile, snicker at the thought of the nasty words and angry scowls right now when imagining the events going down in the backroom chambers- oh my..the Suntanned One giving some life lessons to the young and dumb newbies before Johnny's Big Vote. Delicioso. A scene right out of Godfather IV..

  17. Chase you have it all backwards. This is all in favor of the R's not the D's. Maybe you would have had all the marbles before the internet and conservative radio and TV but no more. There is now many outlets to get the truth out and debunk the D's lies. The Tea Party is shaking up things and that is good. With an election a year and a half away, the left will be getting another lesson.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Ah success! Now we are starting to see what is going on inside Chase's mind. Chase sees hypothetical devastation on the world markets as a gift to Obama and the Dems. He envisions them licking their collective chops at the prospect. Chase also divulges that he smiles and snickers when pondering what he fantasizes is going on amongst the republicans in the House. Great Chase! You did it. Now that wasn't so traumatic was it?
    Thanks Chase.

  19. Ah, maybe like the lesson that Obama gave the Republicans in 2008? The 2012 election will actually see progressives turn out this time at the polls. 2010 showed what happens when a large block of voters simply stayed home. MUCH different when faced with bizarre candidates like Michelle Bachmann.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Obama and Co. will have the last word in this debate, whatever happens. The President always does with his power of the office. Just sk Newtie G bout that..:)

    ReplyDelete
  21. What fascinates me about the 20% of the electorate who claim to be liberals is their ability to fantcize and make things up. You claim your ilk stayed home in 2010 when you were trounced at the polls. No, the turnout was simply overwhelming numbers of conservatives and indies. That will happen again because the democrats are wrecking the place and the people get to really see it now. The R's have passed a number of bills, a budget and a repeal of Obamacare. Harry Reid and the D's in the Senate have killed them all. I would suggest the people will see the D's are the culprits on no compromise. We are getting out the truth now and I look for a 12 vote R majority in the Senate and 14 new House seats and a new R Prez in 2012.

  22. Chase here is the latest PEW Research and they are not Republicans. Indies are bailing on Obama bigtime.

  23. First you guys have to pass Bumbling Boehner's bill this afternoon. Reports on the THE HILL website indicate that your own Tommy McClintock is going through a shakedown cruise with Old Coppertone. Votes not there yet. We can only imagine whats going down. :)

    ReplyDelete
  24. Todd, seriously-how would you be voting today if you were in Congress? You're kind of a Repub establishment guy with no Tea Party links on your website I noticed.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Chase, seriously don't get nervous. Yes it is personal but you shouldn't let it get to you like that. Slow down. You're starting to stutter.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Chase, do us all a favor and post the democrat plan as presented on paper by Obama. I can't seem to locate it.

The Tea Party has my support for their fiscal issues and support of the Constitution. I am not a member.

I would vote for a balanced budget. We have to fix this mess and the democrats are simply just playing politics.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Vote "POSTPONED"

    Too precious.

As I say, the VOTES ARE NOT THERE. Who are the 2 or 3 ideologues who will cave?

    LOL. A thousand times LOL!

PS. Todd, President Obama gave up a long time ago trying to deal with Boehner. There were agreements in place according to everyone, until Boehner got spooked by Mark Meckler and the boys. Let em squirm and die politically.

    ReplyDelete
  28. This Republican three ring circus would normally be fairly funny (nah...REALLY funny) if it wasn't so utterly tragic for the impact on financial markets and the world. But if it finally exposes the lunacy of the Tea Baggers for all to see, so be it. Today you got old McCain calling the Baggers "hobbits, you got crazy Rand Paul calling McCain a "troll," you got old George Pataki about to enter the Pres. race, you got MittMan acting like the nomination is his, you got Migraine Michelle about to cause a Civil War at next year's Convention... Barnum and Bailey never had this!

So Todd, really, how would you VOTE on Boehner's bill? And whatya think McClintock is going to do? Tick tock.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I guess I read and watch a sifferent world than you do Caes. You also can't produce Obama's plan which tells me you are a liberal idealogue. I would vote against the raise in the debt ceiling and do pay go. You know, the democrats passed pay go in 2007.

    ReplyDelete
  30. You're right, the President does not have a published plan. But he had a deal lined up- and according to most sources- it contained serious, serious cuts wiht a little revenue. Seemed good to most Americans, and would have gone a long way toward chipping away at the debt. So what happened? Boehner ran away in fear of Tea Partiers who could not stomach having to vote on DEAL with their devil incarnate President. All for a small minority of very extreme ideologues.
The President is interested in governing, not playing games with this circus of chaotic fools, the Republicans, who cannot get their freaking act together, while the stock and bond market burns.

    ReplyDelete
  31. So Chase, I can't tell exactly what you are thinking about this Boehner vote. Is it in Obama and the Dem's advantage if it passes or if it fails?

    ReplyDelete
  32. I'd really love to Chase to explain to me why the dems failed to pass a budget in over 800 days. Please explain to me why Obama's budget that he DID submit contained massive deficits and was thrown out of the chamber 97-0. Please explain to me why the democrats spent their majority increasing the deficits and ignoring the looming debt ceiling.

The revisionist history fed to you by the liberal media is making you woefully stupid chase.

  33. Chase you know you are being disingenuous because you think the R's are having problems and you really could care less about their problems as long as you think they benefit Obama and the D's. I am concerned for the country.

Real name thank you.
