Local lefties are a bunch of whiners!

I guess I was just raised differently then a liberal.  Duh!  Yes, I was given direction as a yougin that the world was there to conquer and you could be whatever you wanted to be.  All you needed to do was work hard and become the best at whatever you chose to do.  Of course there were some bumps along the way and those had to be overcome.  Sometimes I won, sometimes I lost.  But overall, maintaining a positive attitude trumps most all the crapola tossed at us.

Why is it that I read so much negativity from the left?  Here locally and for the most part, all across this country!  Is it just a natural state of mind for a liberal/democrat?  Is it a hormone imbalance?  Maybe how they were taught or raised?  Maybe all that?  I can tell you it sure is prevalent in them and they have brought the greatest country on the planet almost to its knees.

There doesn't seem to be a positive thing these lefties can muster up.  Hell, this morning I read that those little plastic coffee containers are now a huge environmental problem according to these libs.  I mean come on.  Can't people enjoy anything without these people raining on the parade?  I guess not.  I do my best to stay positive about things in the face of the massive downers these lefty folks toss out on the nightly news and in most testimony on most podiums.  I watch CSPAN and sometimes the California channel from Sacramento (I was known to read manuals too) which give me a look inside the minds of these negatory people.

America is the greatest place ever conceived politically and for human freedom yet listening to these lefty people you would think it was the worst.  They claim I have "white privilege" yet complain if we call them a skin color for identification!  They say I have to pay them "reparations" because supposedly my distant ancestors stole their labor and in the case of the Indians, their lands!  Even though I and my ancestors never owned a slave of any color or stole land!  Just because I am a "white skinned" person I am guilty they say.  I just say, good luck with that, you are just lazy asses who want what I have worked for.  Not gonna happen! The worst though are these self hating "white" liberals.

Locally the lefty contingent, the real out front whiny lib/democrats, they just are never happy.  We on the conservative side kick their butts in almost every election here and instead of taking their lumps for not working hard for their candidates, they claim some "conspiracy" kept them from power.  Sorry lib/dems, your views are not accepted here yet.  You certainly have the rest of the state though and if you want to feel important I suggest you move to where you are predominant.  Marin, San Francisco, East Bay and most coastal counties down to LA are huge majority lib/dem.

In our little corner of the world we have created a little bit of a sane place away from the whiny left.  We get to read conservative pieces in our paper and on most of the blogs.  Most of the elected people are right of center and they are full of common sense.  Those positions filled by the left are usually a mess.  Some Judges here think it is better to have a "kumbaya" circle of criminals than a spell in the clink.  Reading our local paper and the amount of crime going on I would suggest more jail time and get those thieving lefty criminals off the streets.

We have seen the left infiltrate almost every aspect of our personal and business lives over the years.  What fascinates me the most is these "progressives" used to be the harbingers of good change and personal freedom.  Now they are all for shutting up and shuttng down people and views they don't agree with.  Locally the arrest of Terry Lamphier for "child porn" on his county computer has brought out the worst in these lib/dems.  They have decided that there is a grand conspiracy to send TL down the river.  Seems they think he was a threat to the "right" and had to go!  My goodness, that is truly nutty.  Politically speaking Terry was pretty tame.  One person does not threaten a Council or Board power structure.  Three votes are needed.  It appears the lib/dems can't even count!

So I suggest the lib/dem conspiracy folks get a colonoscopy as soon as possible.  Maybe a clean-out of the old would really help you.  But as we all know now, these lib/dems prefer to wallow in the crapola while claiming to be looking for the pony!

  1. Good writing as usual Todd. The Lamphier episode is amazing in that both he and Enos used to be on the same left side of the highway, making it tough for new businesses. Darn! A falling out between old buddies? It makes me wonder what was in the folder that Enos left at the Rood Center, how did Enos know, and why just before the election? BMW

The Twin Cities Church reference is interesting. That organization seems to be somehow related to many members of the “good ole boys and gals” networks in our schools and government.

Dan Miller says: March 13, 2015 at 6:11 pm

It’s a Christian church, such as you would classify Calvary Bible, St. Patrick’s Catholic, United Methodist or Peach & Grace Lutheran Churchs as well as Sierra Presbyterian and many others. I didn’t know they catered to “good ole boys and gals”, whatever that is supposed to mean, so you need to be careful in what you might consider networks. They contribute a lot of time and energy to make our community a better place and they don’t ask for anything in return. So sad that people who love the Lord can become a piece of political fodder on a blog. I don’t normally respond to blog comments but this had to be addressed.

jeffpelline says: March 13, 2015 at 7:03 pm

Thanks Dan. I appreciate your sensitivity to this comment. I don’t think Joe is the first person I’ve heard bring this up, though. Whenever I hear it, the issue does not center around the sincerity of “loving the Lord”; it centers around concerns about the diversity of civic and elected leadership in GV. I would be glad to have a conversation with you about it one day. BTW, I am excited about judging the Pasty Toss competition this weekend (among other things). Have a great weekend.

  10. Don't need a new report to know that rural counties grow and produce so Bay Area counties can eat, drink, have a roof over their heads and have lights. Rural counties are also where the bay area folks come to buy second homes that they seldom use. This drives the real estate prices out of reach of the locals that live and work there vs. the bay area folks that come to "recreate". Look at all the vacation homes in Truckee and around Lake Tahoe. Often owned by over weight Bay Area folks. I bet they have some low paid local doing their yard work for them and serving them in the restaurants most locals can't afford to eat at.

  15. You don't see this being covered by the lefty blogs, why?

A day after dismissing student protests as “crap,” University of California President Janet Napolitano apologized for her remark caught on an open mic.

“Yesterday, after we heard from a couple dozen speakers, and things got a little active from the audience in terms of chanting and throwing stuff and whatever, I was caught on a mic with a word that was unfortunate,” Napolitano said at the UC Board of Regents meeting Thursday. “I want to just say I apologize for that. I ask for your empathy and understanding in my comments.”

Napolitano’s blunder came as several students disrupted Wednesday’s meeting with concerns about rising tuition. During the protests, Napolitano turned to Regent Bruce Varner, apparently unaware that her microphone was broadcasting to an online audience. “Let’s just break. Let’s go. Let’s go,” she said. “We don’t have to listen to this crap.”

  19. Jim Firth submitted an opinion piece to the Union that included a 100% false claim about the City of Grass Valley and the very small amount of funding they provide to the Grass Valley Chamber. Firth's claim is not true. So the head of the Chamber responded in the very same public venue Firth made his false claim.

Firth wrote "If the city council hadn’t provided substantial monies to the Grass Valley Chamber of Commerce there could have been enough money to hold an election for the public to decide who the newest city council member would be.” This is not true, this is false and Firth made this false claim on the editorial page of the Union newspaper.

When Firth, head of the local Dem Party made this false claim the FUE said NOTHING. But when the head of the Chamber responded to Firth's lie the FUE goes nuts and tries to protect Firth. The truth doesn't matter to the FUE.

How long has it been since you saw your peepee?

  20. Speaking of local whiners, foodie elitist Pelline is ranting about George Boardman's piece in the union today about hamburgers. One of Pelline's posters nails the real issue, but Pelline tells his how wrong he is. PeterK is correct and Pelline is clueless to the real issues of price and the right to choose.

PeteK says: March 23, 2015 at 7:55 am

"Maybe Bored Hoardman was talking about getting a decent burger in town that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg… Sure all the places you mentioned have good to great burgers but the average Joe around town can’t afford to buy one for himself, let alone his family"

Pelline is the one that's "out of touch" with the VAST majority of people that can't afford the high prices of the wonderful farm to fork, ultra green, enviro approved, expensive, groovy burgers and food in the currently trendy gastro pub, high end, pricey joints. There's a reason In & Out is ranked number one in the nation and Pelline the elitist hates that. He wants to dictate where we eat and what we eat, a perfect Lib that wants to control our lives just like they like to do in San Francisco. You can bet Pelline knows where all the over priced, unaffordable to the common folk burgers are at around Lake Tahoe where he has his vacation home. Bet he uses his silver spoon to eat those high priced burgers.

  22. Pelline's shot at my column today is a good example of the intellectual dishonesty he routinely utilizes to distort the facts and mislead anybody who's naive enough to take him at his word.

I wrote about the scarcity around here of better hamburger CHAINS, but he called me a know-nothing because I ignored the hamburgers served at local RESTAURANTS. He know this is a misrepresentation of what I wrote, but he needs to create a false narrative so that his criticism will seem reasonable and I'll look foolish. He's also banking on the fact that his acolytes will believe anything he writes and won't notice his clumsy slight-of-hand.

He then trots out a list of restaurants that includes places in Tahoe and Truckee--as if anybody is going to drive there just to satisfy their craving for a decent hamburger. Pelline has to go that far afield because every place he listed has advertised in his "magazine," and he wouldn't want to strain any relationships by leaving out somebody.

People who read my column before they read Pelline's criticism regularly ask me what he's smoking (they also say some other things, but I won't repeat them here). I just say, "That's the former big-time journalist in action."

In & Out is loved by many, but in the control everything Lib world those that like In & Out are bad people. Claiming they put mom and pops put of business is total BS. Low end jobs you say? Funny jeffy.....I raised this very notion last year when you were on yet another Chili Fry/Chardonnay fueled pity party rant. That your reluctant 1% (well not really reluctant....let's be honest....you were unable to hold your Union editors position and unsuited for much else. I can't really imagine seeing you try to earn a living by swinging a hammer or doing concrete work! You know productive labor) status resulted from your CNet IPO lottery win was offered for discussion and not rebutted by you at the time. It was Greg who thought that dads Humble Oil stash was keeping you in tall cotton.

See?? Now were doing some investigative reporting!

  32. Hmmmm???

    What's that smell?

It's jeffys Obsession......a new scent from the Juvinall line.

    Burger scented I think?!

So for the record......IPO not inheritance?

    Well okay then!

  33. OK, you have crossed the line now fish! Dad gave me my stocks and stuff because....well, he felt sorry for me. Nobody liked me and everybody picked on me just because I liked hamburgers so much. I can't help it, they are just so yummy! Did I show you my collection of pictures of hamburgers? I have a lot more, would you like to see them. Now you are making fun of me. What did I ever do to you? And don't say I was cyber stalking you. That was research. You know, investigative journalism. Just because Dad gave me stuff doesn't make me a bad person does it? You shouldn't be mean to mean like all the big kids used to do, It's not fair! And it's not nice to say I like chili fries so much, because chili fries are not near as good as hamburgers. I know because I don't have that many pictures of chili fries. Well....ok, I have quite a few. Have you tried chili fries with bleu cheese on top? Oh man, now we are talkin'. But the best is when you put chili fries on top of a big ol' burger! Now that's livin'! See fish, I am just a regular guy. We could be friends. I don't really have any friends. Frisch acts like my friend, but you know how those liberals are, never really genuine about anything! Do you want to be my friend fish? I'll show you my collection of food pictures, and maybe even my collection of candy bar wrappers! LOL!

“fish” should keep his day job. He fails miserably as an “investigative reporter.”

Something else we have in common....both miserable investigative reporters.

    See...we're not so different!

  35. You guys are too funny. I guess we are not very well liked on the FUE's blog. That cesspool is cracking me up along with the posters there. A squirrel would have a heyday with all those nuts! LOL!

  36. No one is paying attention to the FUE recent posts other than the FUE and that nutjob who lied about a neighbor who was on the grand jury and claimed to have access to county computers to support the TL conspiracy. LOL If they did not talk about you it would just be the sock puppets and his FUEness.
