I have been a fan of America since my earliest recollections. During my youth my family attended most if not all the parades in Grass Valley and alternately in Nevada City. Eventually, I was a participant as an elected and wannabee elected official. I was in a open air car owned and driven by my old friend Amos Seghezzi and we had a great time.
I have not attended a parade for the last few years and have kept up with them on the local TV channel and in the Union Newspaper. It appears to me America is still a country of many views and ideologies and the floats and marchers of our county are proud to be a part of the grand parade. I have watched the left march down Broad Street with posters and slogans on T-shirts trashing George W. Bush and before that, his father and Ronald Reagan and even the troops. When someone protested their slanders the left screamed_freedom of speech" and pooh-poohed the protesters as unAmerican. Yet when the Tea Party or a batch of veterans marched in support of the Republican Presidents or in support of the troops fighting overseas, the left screamed and threw epithets which were never done by those on the right. The left then cried out, "no more!" and I am guessing they forgot their own "freedom of speech" position.
The left has even stated the parades are not for politics! Say what? They are all about politics because that is what we are celebrating. The Fourth is about freedom for goodness sakes. The Founders wanted us to be aware and to fight and debate political ideas and then once a year show the rest of the people their points in the great parades across the land.
The liberals of America have just about every issue backwards as far as I can tell. America is celebrating America. American values and Americans. The left wants us to celebrate an open borders America so they are inviting the other 6 billion people into our lands and calling those that want to stop the invasion, unAmerican! The Founders never envisioned a mass intrusion of the country by aliens and yet, somehow, the liberal has made their words into some twisted almost unrecognisable jumble of guilt and confusion. No, the Founders wanted a strong, independent country where the rule of law prevailed over the pettiness of man's arrogance. The left, those self proclaimed lovers of humanity, are jeopardizing our country with their attempts to open our country to all, without legality!
So, remember this, America is strong because we have been a country of laws not men. Progressives are undermining that with "feelings" which we all know is very destructive in a court of law. When you are at the parade today, r all the signs going by, whether they are "bend over for change" or Grandma's against Bush" and feel lucky we still have the parades.
I just feel lucky your not in the back of a convertible waving to us as an elected official any more.

You should feel lucky. Todd would cut off your government funding and then you'd have to go back to making 35k a year as a chef.

Woodsy, Firsch is simply a life's taker so I have to give him a break, he is untrained in the real world. Besides, he is just jealous, not even the dog catcher would vote for him if he had the cajones to try and run for office.
ReplyDeleteWoodsey wouldn't know the "truth" if it ran him over doing 60 miles per hour

Woodsy blah blah blah. You two sound like a couple of grade school dorks.
ReplyDeleteThe "truth" is that the Frish/Enos worldview is shredder feed.

Never seen a guy with such intense anger issues as this 2.1 fellow.
ReplyDeleteNo? How about Thornton? Or maybe that would be paranoia instead.
