When is democrat lying? I was told when their lips are moving. How true. That old scummy Senator named Dick Durbin lived up yo his first name again in a segment on FOX with Brett Baer a little while ago. Then you have the LA Mayor, once a gang-banger I understand, telling everyone how bad Romney and Ryan are. (check out LA for murders and budgets) Then there is the whole crew of talking dummies moving around the cubicles of the press trying to tell us all how we are better off than we were four years ago. These democrats are total liars and the American people will give them the boot in November.
Dick Turban (as some call him for his calling his own Americans, Nazi's etc. a few years ago) was asked a simple question by Baer. "why is the word God removed from the democrat platform? Durbin then refused to answer and attacked Baer and FOX News! That is always the way a liar does it. Never answer and then attack. To his credit, Baer kept on asking and Turban kept on lying. Then Baer asked why "Jerusalem" was removed from their platform as the "capitol" of Israel. Turban did the same attack on Baer and never answered.
What cracks me up is the American people (except the leftwing morons and puppets) aren't buying what the democrats are selling. The polls on "right track, wrong track" are huge for wrong track. Peoples household income has dropped $4,000 and the unemployment rate is the same or worse as when Obama took office. The price of gasoline is over twice the per gallon cost since then as well. Hell, weren't these same democrat liars excoriating Bush and the R's on a daily basis back then for the same things and their pals in the lamestream media were bombarding us all with how Bush should be held accountable for all that? Yep. But now it is Obama and the lamestreams are just doing their dictation of the democrats talking point memos and trying to pull the wool over our eyes.Ain't working.
If the reasons for the country's problems were Bush's, they are the same for Obama (didn't he say he was running to fix things?). When Pelosi/Reid gained the Congress in 2006, that is when the place went to hell. All their stupid laws, their inability to do what they told us they would do and now the same for Obama. Where are the results of Obama's promises? No where man. (excuse me Beatles). No, Obama is a failure in leadership as are the democrats in the Senate who refuse to pass a Constitutional budget. The most important thing they are elected to do and it is almost four years since one was passed by Harry Reid and his band of nuts.
So, get ready for more lies and obfuscation by the Dick Turbans and the rest. Thursday we will get to hear another set of promises by Obama and his minions and we better, as a nation, not be fooled twice. You know what they say about that.
Not sure why Jerusalem was not explicitly acknowledged and cited in the plank. I will be watching closely on the stance of the Dems on Israel.
ReplyDeleteThe tribute to Ted Kennedy was good. As McCain said of him "he was the last lion of the Senate."
I can't say I agreed with him on some of his stances or his early adulthood behavior; however, Ted was a key piece of the senate, a strong and historic figure.
Jerusalem was always in their platform they took it out as well as the word GOD for this convention. Obama has been no friend to Israel.
DeleteRegarding Kennedy. He was the best Senator a daddy could buy. I never had any respect for him because of his allowing that little girl to drown. Also, the rapes at the Florida compound. He was a perv and a drunk. I liked his brothers though.
McCain can say all the pretty words about him but the bottom line is Kennedy shepherded and sponsored John Kerry for the Senate and encouraged him to trash his own country. My guess is Teddy is in a hot place.

DeleteTodd, most would agree that if diehard Dems want to feel safe, they tune into MSNBC, and if diehard Repubs want to feel safe, they tune into Fox.
ReplyDeleteI will be trying to find some independent news outlet to firm up stances and facts.
FOX is actually fair to both sides. The reason you and the left think otherwise is because the lamestream media was one way all my life and they still are, liberal. FOX came along and actually allows liberals and conservatives to debate and be on panels. Their news side is truly unbiased in reporting. I was an elected official and have first hand experience how the media does their tricks. Sadly, the media will ot admit their bias. (read BIAS by Goldberg)
DeleteI notice already the lamestream are giving more time to the dems and not talking over them and cutting away like they dod the R's.

DeleteA change of venue? All those Obummer supporters were asking too much for a ticket. As I recall it was going to be held at B of A stadium rain or shine according to the DNC. And only a 30% chance of rain.
ReplyDeleteOK,, spin that like a gyro. This should be good.
It is pretty scary for the right. The diverse masses associate with Obama and the Dems. I imagine that the right is hoping for bad weather.
DeleteThis will be an interesting election.
Nope,,, not scary one bit.. Comical is more like it. Look how far the Left has stooped. Now two Leftys have used the Nazi insinuation.
DeleteThat's sure going to score some points.(lol)
Did the Left score BIG in 2010? As I recall,,, Leftys were as sure as the sun coming up in the East that they would hold ALL their power.
Uh, how many seats did they take( let alone keep)?
How well did the special election in Wiss. work? ( a blue state)
It's sure fun to watch "O" think he's Glenn Beck. ( Beck CAN fill a stadium)
Yo Walt Glenn is an interesting guy, but may believe he's crazy as a loon, even Fox thought that. I recommend finding another pundint who is more widely accepted, e.g., Papa Bear.
DeleteThe point is that the mooing herd is at the DNC versus white religious America. Who is the majority? That is the scary thought.
*many
DeleteScott...I am not sure I understood your 7:18 post....
DeleteScott, there are more elected Republican Hispanics in America than democrats. Diversity is not the same as unity as Americans anyway.
DeleteScott. Don't think a lot of people with a "D" next to their name go to church in some way or form? There are plenty at mine! Yes, they know there is a higher power than "O" and plan to vote accordingly.
DeleteThink "O" is going to get the Jewish vote? Not after the news out today. People of faith are in far greater numbers than you think.
BTW Scott, I met many an admitted DEM when I went to Texas to see Beck. " Ya, I voted for him.... NOT this time"
DeleteYa' know what?? That would make one hell of a T shirt!
Time to go practice some capitalism. LOL!
Yes, Obama will get the majority of American Jewish votes, including my relatives. Most American jews are educated people who understand the real solutions to long term peace in the Middle East.
DeleteWalt, don't you find it funny that Texas is much closer in the polls this year than it was in 2008. Its not a slam dunk for Republicans by any means. Its going to be a swing state in 2016, if not earlier. Long term, it is heading Democratic.
DeleteJewish voters are wising up to Obama's support for Palestinians and the street thinks he will lose a hefty percentage of their votes this time. Historically though they have supported the democrat party.
DeleteTexas is a strong conservative state but there are pockets of liberals in the cities. Some of the goofiest democrats come for those places but overall, even the suburban democrats are conservative.
Those Castro boys don't hols a candle to Rubio or Susana Martinez though. They are (Castor's) just democrat hacks on their way up the looney D ladder of incompetence.
DeleteTodd I found this long exchange to be typical. You believe assertion is the same as a fact. Regarding Obama and Isreal here is a quote from a prominient American Jewish scholar: "When the first President Bush had disagreements with Israel over its settlement policy, he threatened to withhold loan guarantees from Israel. Mr. Obama has had his own disagreements with Mr. Netanyahu over the settlers but has never taken such a step. To the contrary, he has increased aid to Israel and given it access to the most advanced military equipment, including the latest fighter aircraft.
DeleteAsk any senior Israeli official involved in national security, and he will tell you that the strategic relationship between the United States and Israel has never been stronger than under President Obama. “I can hardly remember a better period of American support and backing, and Israeli cooperation and similar strategic understanding of events around us,” the defense minister, Ehud Barak, said last year, “than what we have right now.” So much of what you say is simply wrong. You really should learn to research subjects you discuss.
Michelle Obama = one gorgeous human being. Shimmering perfection!
ReplyDeleteKinda creepy in a certain way there Jen. Stay calm, take a cold shower.
DeleteMan she hit it out of the park,,,,if one like sports analogies..and really wordy responses...I agree...shimmering perfection.
DeleteAnd what did you say about Ann ROmney's speech?
Delete" Please,, vote for bigger government. We are here to take care of you.
DeleteWe know what's best for you. You can't make it through life without government."
I thought Anne Romney's speech was pleasant, and effective for its audience at the RNC. Plus, I kind of like Anne Romney But I'm not sure it really connected to the average American mother and wife who is struggling to make ends meet and provide a platform for her children to succeed. Michele benefited from the intro videos as well, that spotlighted her work with military families.
DeleteNot to mention Anne Romney's speech barely mentioned working women. Michele highlighted working women.
DeleteVery, very few Americans couldn't make it through life without our government. Even most of the 1% would exhaust all their personal savings to pay for a basic lifestyle and healthcare costs.
DeleteWalt, you got all your healthcare and retirement costs covered in your "golden" years?
Please Jen, he is probably counting on Medicare and Social Security.
DeleteBTW, I was referring to retirement years for the 1%, and for our friend Walt.
DeleteCan you believe this? Just because I dig in the dirt makes me broke? LOL! I didn't need Obummer care before, and I don't need or want it now. And thanks to Obummer care, many have lost what they did have. Great going...If it was so great, why all the waivers? Yaa...
DeleteWalt, you're covered now, thanks in large part to the President's healthcare plan. Before that, if you had any kind of chronic health setback, you would likely be broke. Very quickly.
DeleteSo you're still all set for life- no government aid- right Walt :)?
How can he be covered by Obamacare if it does not start until 2014? You are smoking the ganga. Sheesh!
DeleteThe Affordable Care Act currently extends those under the age of 26 medical coverage under their parent's plan. Also no rescissions on coverage as well as removing any preexisting medical condition restrictions. It isn't 2014 yet Todd but these are in effect now. So Walt explain how The Affordable Care Act caused "many" to lose what they did have?
DeleteKen Jones
You just haven't been paying attention. The cost of HC has already gone up.(not down) People are getting priced right out of their existing plans, and are forced to drop them . Many employers have dropped employee coverage due to rising costs. (just as planned)
DeleteYa. Obummercare is just what the Dr. ordered. ( Dr."O" maybe)
Their parents plan starts in 2014.
DeleteWalt you make a lot of claims and offer ZERO proof of any of this crap. HC has been going up for years Walt, not since President Obama took office. Pay attention. Just what people are getting priced out Walt? Many employers? Who Walt? All just BS as usual.
DeleteTodd you are wrong as usual:
Health Plans that cover Dependents: If your health care plan currently covers dependents, the rules takes effect on or after Sept. 23, 2010. The rule would now require that the policyholder’s children be covered until the age of 26 unless they have access to an employer-sponsored plan. If they were previously dropped, they can re-enroll as long as they don’t have access to an employer-sponsored plan. The child does not need to live with the parent and does not need to be claimed as a dependent on the parent’s tax return. If the health insurance plan’s open enrollment period isn’t in the fall, the plan must give dependents 30 days to decide whether or not to enroll.
Ken Jones
Walt,
DeleteKind of like when Blue Cross/ Blue Shield or should we just call it what it really is, Well Point, jacked up rates in 40% for over 700k people before ACA was passed. These increases piggybacked a $2.7 billion quarter for Well Point, not really a company that was barely scraping by that needed to increase premiums on an already struggling Californian economy.
Health Care Costs have on average gone up faster than inflation at an 8% click annually while incomes for the average worker has seen their spending power actually decreased about $2k annually in the last 30 years. Was ACA a perfect solution? Not even close but it was a hell of lot more than what the republicans did when they controlled the house, senate, and white house in the 2000's. They did nothing except put a landmine into Medicare with Medicare Part D. Here is the answer- implemented a the state level would be best but how ever we can get it will do.
http://www.pnhp.org/
Good points here. Some have complained that Obama didn't go far enough.
DeleteAlso, wasn't the single payer model a Republican proposal during the Bush era?
Whomever gets into office should do course corrections on the affordable health care act to make it affordable and cost effective.
Proof in the pudding. In the business I'm with, healthcare costs-our premiums, went up by the lowest annual rate in a decade this year. Coincidence? I think not. This is the first year we had less than a 15% increase (it was about 8% this year). We've been averaging 25% increases PER YEAR on the group coverage for several years. That is simply Insane and Unsustainable. Now these private companies are forced to put 80% of their premium dollars toward healthcare- not Executive perks and waste. Thank Goodness for President Obama's courage and smarts in the face of the huge-money machine!
DeleteJen,
DeleteThere are many good provisions in the ACA that aren't talked about such as rural health clinics, no rescission, no pre-existing conditions, and the 80 cents on the dollar need to go towards health care services that you mentioned. I don't even understand why we pay 20% to a middle man that will exercise the excessive private bureaucratic rationing of services to increase profit margins in the first place.

DeleteHave to agree with Steve on Mrs. Anne Romney. She's got 3 luxury homes to look after, including that famous one in LaJolla with a car elevator. Its def a tough life when you've got that many homes to think about!
ReplyDeleteJen, they earned their money so why would you be jealous of their success? They paid 3 million bucks last year in federal taxes and gave 7 million to charity. Add all the property taxes they pay and the jobs they created and you have people who have experience the America Way. Why is that a problem for you?
DeleteShe cannot relate to 99.7% of Americans who don't own 3 homes and a car elevator. OUT OF TOUCH.
DeleteWe still haven't seen how much tax avoidance went on with the Romneys. With a Swiss account, you can be sure it was millions in tax avoidance. So lets recap shall we?- wealth from ripping apart companies and moving paper around, no military service anywhere in the Romney or Ryan families, money moving offshore, Swiss Banks, Caymans = Un American.
Your phony outrage doesn't work here. Try Pelline's blog for that. I said my piece, you said yours. You obviously are jealous of successful people in a free enterprise country. Too bad for you, you will always be a worker bee.
DeleteI wish Anne and Mitt luck in their wine pairing dinner parties down in LaJolla as they show off the new digs. No jealousy involved. But with that level of wealth, they are not fit to relate to the problems of Americans, and of our nation. Totall, completely OUT OF TOUCH.
DeleteUm, I guess that would be grape juice pairings. Very expensive grape juice.:) Welches Single Vine White.
DeleteLet's see, umm. Obama was born in Hawaii mover and lived for many years in Indonesia and raised by a Indonesian man, then back to Hawaii raised by his grandparents (where is his mom?) and mentored by a communist and he relates better to whom? Romney and his wife are the epitome of American values and you just can't hack it because they worked hard and became successful. Your jealousy is too transparent. Real Americans don't covet.
DeleteObama lived the quintessential American life, with parents that struggled to give him a decent shot at a successful life.
Deleteooh...we don't covet.:) We love and respect unpatriotic tax-dodgers, because they worked hard to destroy companies and shift the resulting wealth to themselves. Many Americans consider that UN American.
His biological father deserted him as an infant and he saw him once at age ten. His mom was a hippy dippy and a socialist tool. He was mentored by a communist. His Pastor of 20 years trashed whites and America. His real estate transactions were done with a criminal. He was introduced to the Chicago politicians at the home of William Ayers a terrorist. Yep, quintessential lifw. Just like your eh?
DeleteMy god! Michelle Obama was magnificent tonight. I also loved Duval Patrick's speech. Much passion and vision. Loved it, all of it. I can't even say it was so much better than the Republican Convention because there was NOTHING that resembled the Pugs. Nothing at all. I almost feel sorry for them they are so completely and utterly clueless. I suppose it is all about how most Americans live and work. How many American's struggle. How and where we find our values has nothing to do with the Romney's and their way of life. Oh well.....
ReplyDeleteI LOVED Duval Patrick tonight. Wow, wow, double wow! :) Patrick, O'Malley, Booker, Casto- what an incredible group of future leaders for our country! Echoes of the old Kennedy passion and fire!
DeleteSue.. Are you related to the late Cleave C.?
DeleteI think the Aztecs may have been on to something. The world is supposed to end by the end of the year,,, right? "O" gets re elected, and soon after the world goes ta' sh...
ReplyDeleteNow that's a scary thaught.
From what I see at the convention, it's damage contol at best.
Myans,, EXXXCUUUUSSSSeeeee ME! LOL
DeleteI olways thaught the Myans were natives of Myanmar. Didn'''t nkow thay said tha world wood end this yeer.
DeleteActually Walt, I'm just kidding. Everyone knows the Myans refer to the members of the Maine Youth Action Network. I looked around their website but could not find the end-of-world prediction that you refer to. Perhaps I missed it? Or perhaps it was the Aztecs. Sometimes you gotta go with your first instinct there, Walter. :)
Deletehttp://www.myan.org/
What ever,,( i't been a long day) you get the point.
DeleteLike cookies? Try this on for size. 1 orio cookie, wrap with one
thin slice of bacon, then role in crushed Capt Crunch.
That will nuke your taste buds.
Yeah Walt- Aztecs, Mayans- same basic thing, whats the diff, right :)?
DeleteTrue, they both cur the hearts out of living people.
DeleteJust in case you missed it. Michelle Obama speech last night. I was a great speech but I wouldn't expect anything less from her. She is strong, smart, down to earth, and beautiful human being.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTPdKUA9Ipg
She is an attorney isn't she? That is a class they take.
DeleteHarvard?
DeleteThe DNC speeches so far have been better than the previous speeches. We'll see if the financial differential between the parties shows up at the polls. Also, the red states have made it much more difficult for the poor and out of state students to vote. This will be a close one.
ReplyDeleteIn the end, it comes down to what we believe is the role of government in society and
can we live with Mitt's loyalty to the shadow society of Mitt's "church"? They, Mitt's "church", have been setting up their own infrastructure in anticipation of the demise of the US government for years to enable either an whole, autonomous society or eventual succession to run the US. This is a sticking point for those who are aware of the years of rhetoric, planning and actions. Mitt is knocking at the door of what his church has wanted for many years.
Scott, or Walt or whomever you are, Glenn Beck has been considered half-baked by ~1/2 of the populous for a few years now. I was recommending not quoting Glenn to make a point, but quoting someone who still has credibility with the majority of people.
ScottJ, words words words. If words from a democrat would solve things the world would be perfect. Unfortunately they have to turn words into actions and that is where the left fails. Republicans turn their words into action and that is why our country works.
DeleteSo just who is this? Sign in as "Scott", then at the bottom, stick it to "Scott"? Can't keep your fictitious names straight?
DeleteLOL Attacking Mormon's now? Oh. Excuse me Christians in general are in the cross hairs. The DNC has made that perfectly clear. The DNC has friends in the Muslim bro.hood to keep happy.
Keep it up I might add. Mitt is climbing in the polls on every issue.
Don't like Beck now? Just wait. LOL!!
Thanks Walt for catching that typo, I meant to respond to Steve, not myself, and Steve tends to use repetitive punctuation like you. While his tone seems distinctly different than yours, he tends to write like you with repetitive punctuation. So, it leaves one wondering if Steve is just another alias for 'Walt'.
DeleteI think that Shep or someone of his ilk is a much better source than Glenn Beck. It really gets down to the question, "do you want people to pay attention to your position?" If you do, I wouldn't cite Beck; I would cite someone more evenly accepted.
It seems that both the Dems and Repubs are in the back pocket of big business. The Dems lean more toward labor, diversity and government help, and the Repubs lean more openly toward big business and less involvement. So, both have their positions to defend, and I agree with Todd; both parties tend to have more words than action, lots of grid-lock.
I am not committed to either side just yet. Let's hear them out.
But Walt (Glenn or Steve or whomever you are): be careful what you want; don't blindly jump-in without seeing things from all sides.
Many, MANY people with a D next to their name are Beck "people".
DeleteI have met more than a few. Maybe you should actually listen to what he has to say, instead of being told, by those that hate him.
How many did he get to show in D.C.? How about all the "events" he has held? If he was as bad as you want to make him out to be, how come he can draw more people than "O"? Has that crossed your mind?
Beck is being nice enough to let the DNC have their little fun.
Beck could have easily held his next event this same week, and the LIB convention would have looked like a ghost town. Everyone of any faith would have bailed and gone to see Beck.
Just wait. Beck has plans for that vary same state. and all the swing states as well.
Beck "crazy"? Yup,, Like a fox.
I am also aware of just which party has my best interests in mind.
And the party of BIG GOV. sure isn't it. LIBS are all about "control" of peoples lives. LIBS want to be able to "control" what we eat, drive, where we live, what jobs we have, and even how much money we make. Restrict this, restrict that, and the list goes on.
So show us how LIBS honor our liberties, instead of trying to restrict them at every turn.
LIBS HATE successful people.( unless they have a D next to their name)those are "good party members"
I am not sure I like either party. I like fiscal conservatism, equitable pay, caring for the poor & elderly and good moral standards, which includes caring for those who cannot care for themselves. I don't think either party completely encapsulates those values/actions.
DeleteBottom-line, any rational person wants what sweetens their personal income, and if this is at the expense of others, then one group will try to cloud the issues to get a sufficient following to get the advantage, to sweeten their finances at the expense of those they convinced to follow them.
The question is, what hot-button issues could get you to vote to raise your taxes and lower another income brackets tax rate? Are those just hot-button issues to mislead others to vote to give one group an economic advantage?
Just make sure that you're looking after what's good for your finances and your family's ahead of some politician's or some political party.
And there are extremists on both sides of the aisle, as mentioned above, who serve as lightening rods for fringe elements. Whether a smoke-screen in the hands of a shadow, puppet master or genuine, the extremists typically get people distracted off of the more important issues and get them to vote in such a way to either hurt the voters situation or to hurt another group people.
I am sorry Scott, I lost track of which post of mine you were responding to. Can you point me?
DeleteNo worries
DeleteTodd and Walt,
ReplyDeleteI challenge you to try and objectively go through a well commented post and see how the both of you exchange in dialogue. Your rudeness, misogyny, and absolute partisanship are astonishing.
A good rule of thumb- would you support your 16 year old son or daughter talking to others in the tone and language the both of you revert to almost immediately? I know I wouldn't. By example is the best way to sell our opinions and issues.
Sometimes I let my frustration onto the blogs but it takes some pretty strong language to get me to act on it.
No worries Ben, I think that Todd is good at heart, with clear leanings and writes some controversial things to fuel response. That's ok, he clearly gets people to share ideas and debate, and that's good.
DeleteHaHaHaHa. You are too much BenE. Whose blog is this anyway? Oh, mine, that's right. I get many thousands of people viewing my comments and posts and you and StevF are the only ones whining all the time. Time to man up, get some cajones and debate.
DeleteSteve F is whining? Some grants must have been rejected. OPM is getting scarce.
DeleteA call to his board of directors might be in order.( unless they are Me, myself, and I) I can and will do his job at half the cost.
I have enough LIB background to do it well. ( fake it till you make it) Heck I can point to a perfect example that can't be refuted that would give them no choice but to give me the job. Look who they elected for Pres. They have yet to take off his training wheels.
So heck YA, I could do his job. HAY,, gotta cut costs. and I have no problem taking half of what he does. Look at all that money that could be spent for it's real, intended purpose.
What do ya' think Steve? You do know that's the name of the game these days. Who ever can do the job, for the least cost.
I'm all for the environment too. I just don't foam at the mouth about it.
Debate what? Name calling, insults, hyperbole, and bigotry. It is pretty black and white for your "thousands?" of readers.
DeleteI and can only guess Steve F use your blog to expose your very limited point of view and inability to have a civil dialogue. Thanks for having your blog giving us a platform to put out reasonable opinions on the issues we face today as a nation, state, and community.
If you want to get rid of me you can exercise censorship or start openly supporting torture, holy wars, and suspending due process.
Walt you foam at the mouth when you hear Glenn Beck. And quite frankly I am sure you couldn't do Steve's job or mine. You need an education man and not that "degree" you received from Beck. Seems you have a real issue with formal education. And you really have no clue as to the "name of the game".
DeleteKen Jones
BenE, you have lost your marbles man. Expose what? This is a blog open to anyone who wants to post (under my rules) so you are totally ridiculous in your statements. I am totally open and my opinion is main stream while yours is leftwing-socialist or worse. You come here and the other blogs to rell us how stupid we all are and call us some "dog whistle" liberal code words to demean but it ain't selling BenE. You are a sad example of what our country has produced. A bunch of do-nothing complainers who want to take other people's stuff. This is America, you want your way, move to Albania for goodness sakes.
DeleteTodd,
DeleteMost people don't realize how extreme you are until you're provoked to put your opinion out there for others to see. On an other blog we had a man who proudly used the term "raghead" asking us to stop referring to his statements because it was making him uncomfortable due to having a Sikh friend after the Madison shooting. I wonder how his Sikh friend would like his "raghead" position?
Seriously Ben? I missed that. George has asked people to stop using the term on his blog? Did he take his posts down? Isn't it funny how bigotry only becomes real when it is harming someone you know and respect? KInd of like Archie Bunker softening because he knew George Jefferson;)
DeleteBenE. extremism is in the eye of the beholder. I am a mainstream American. Business owner, family man, pay my taxes, support individual freedom and less government. In my view you are the extremist along with your other lib posters. You support big government, deficits and welfare. So we just have to disagree. You have an outmoded belief system that was destroyed over and over throughout history and the last time was 1991.
Deleteyeah, real mainstream...thats pretty funny!
DeleteJen do you smoke marijuana and/or do illegal drugs?
DeleteSteve,
DeleteAfter that exchange I censored myself off of George's blog. The entire discussion was disgusting and immoral. We were arguing the defense of torture, pre-emptive attacks, suspension of due process, and the US is in a holy war was the thread. You can guess what side of the fence we each fell on.
I left it telling George I can respect someone for stating their positions despite whether or not I agree with them or not but cannot accept being asked to stop using his language because it was going to affect his personal life. I am sure when the Sikh shooting happened the shooter didn't read Georges pages and pages of criteria for the term "raghead". The shooter heard the term "raghead" and saw a person wearing a turban and thought they were the perceived enemy in those who think like George holy war.
Mostly Todd is a genetically wired Republican. We've known each other for years and can always share a laugh. He's never met a Republican he couldn't support. I'm sure he believes Agnew was framed and Nixon was misunderstood. He'd probably vote for them today.
ReplyDeleteHis kind of addiction is very difficult to treat. There's always a fresh batch of Repubs he can goo over and he means no harm.
Is he going to survive an Obama re-election for 4 more years? :)
DeleteOddsmakers in Vegas still have the President at about 58% chance of winning as of today. Generally they're not wrong. Otherwise they go out of business.. :)
Oh, I'll be just fine. I am one of those people that worked hard, saved some money and now can do this as much as I want.
DeleteRegarding my DNA. Yes, after I became a small business owner and employed a whole lot of poor and middle class people, I soon became a adamant Republican. Small government, less rules and regulations, more freedom for the individual. Yep, it changed me forever.
Paul and Scott,
ReplyDeleteHe might not mean any harm but it doesn't hurt to point out his poor conversation skills either, who knows maybe one day it will sink in. Also by pointing it out allows me to express my ill feelings without degrading down to a pissing match.
Hi Ben, I like your posts (and Paul's), especially the help on the WTO and trade issues.
DeleteThanks Scott,
DeleteWhat most people who believe they support what is called Free Trade don't understand is the unaccountable body called the WTO has authority over our trade and economic polices. We surrenders our economic sovereignty to an institution who only look after the bottom lines of the biggest transnational corporations on the planet. People were worried about a one world government coming out of UN while a truly unaccountable group of organizations literally have control over what we call globalization. The World Trade Organization, International Monetary Fund, and the World Bank are the big ones most people have heard of.
What you won't here from LIB news.
ReplyDeleteThose buses sent out to get "stadium filler"
couldn't get filled. The churches and unions
said "thanks but no thanks". I guess more than
just the high profile LIBS are sitting this one out.
But it appears that "O" and Co. do "fear" an act of GOD despite the denouncing of GOD.( lightning strikes and a little rain.)
Speaking of GOD, the DNC just made a 180. I guess that "small number of Christians"
ReplyDeleteisn't so small. Sorry DEMS , the damage is done.
Heck. The vote was even a lie! It needed a 2/3s
voice vote to pass. It sounded like 50/50 to me.
They can't even stay within their own rules.
Damage control is now in full swing.
Is the acceptance speech going to be held at the "Titanic" memorial building?
Thanks LIBS for a tailor made ad we will be using before the weekend.
DeleteThis is one bell that can't be unrung.
On another note, will Bill throw "O" under the bus? We know Bill
has no love for "O" one bit. Since Bill has refused to allow his speech to be examined by Debby downer for her approval, we can only guess that somewhere in that,( maybe at the end) it will say,, " "O" is as worse than Carter. Vote for Mitt to save the country" We can only "hope" for that "change".
Bill Clinton was MAGNIFICIENT!
DeleteWow, Warren and Clinton...speechless.
Clinton stunk the place up. My goodness, I bet you don't remember any of the wonky stuff he said. What a bore! Rubio made him look like a piker.
DeleteAnyone catch a glimpse of the PRO Arab, pre printed signs? The plot thickens..
ReplyDeleteAye, the face of America is changing. I think my ancestors immigrated from Europe.
ReplyDeleteI've seen major areas of one city transformed by Hindi temples.
Lots of Persian families in metropolitan areas.
Lots of Latino families in many cities, and lots of African american families in every city.
With a nation built by immigrants and with our history of immigration, it is not surprising that there are immigrants from Arab countries.
How do we respond? do we accept? do we go back to the why things were in the 50s? It is up to voters and their representation.
Could not say it better, Scott. It appears the Republican Party is totally in denial regarding that significant demographic change. If you like progressive ideals, this is a very good thing. If you like the ideals of the 1950s like Walt and Todd, and have not yet evolved in your thinking, you've got to be very, very worried and filled with anxiety.
ReplyDeleteIt shows here. Every day.
Well hey, I have a Smartphone, doesn't that count? I am a big fan of legal immigration. That is where you libs get it all wrong. Anyone that wants to come here the right way and get into the mainstream of the American Way is fine with me. What the problem seems to be is you libs have decided to open the gates to anyone regardless of their status and then you co-op them with goodies to make them good democrats.
DeleteRegarding the 1950's. No I like to stay up to date, I don't want my old coonskin cap from Davy Crockett and I never cared for hiding under my desk to survive a nuke. I do know though our country was made up of nuclear families, crime was punishes and most people worked and respected each other. The liberals have changes all that and it was on display last night and will be again tonight.
If progress to a liberal is welfare checks for all and big government telling us all how high to jump everyday, then you got your wish
America is in transition to failure because of you liberals and we on the right are trying to save the place. The struggle goes on.
Flood gates? Hmm. The employers who hired all the millions of illegals were liberals? Damn, that's news to me!
DeleteI met a lot of you liberals that had illegal slaves working as servants. Yep, you wanted a cheap labor lawn mower. Hypocrites on the left are too much,\.
Deletethats a downright bizarre accusation (not surprising however :) and a way to avoid the obvious fact- illegal immigrants came here for Agribusiness and Factory sweat shop jobs. Big business was more than happy to accomodate until the raids began. Lawn people were a tiny fraction of the labor force.
DeleteIf they want to come here and work legally I have no problem. You just want a new block f votes.
DeleteWe should all ignore Walt and Todd and turn this blog into a liberal praise forum. Let us all keep talking about how great Michelle Obama was and ignore any negative commentary.
ReplyDeleteAnother delusional liberal. What a hoot!
DeleteAye, legal immigration is the way to go. So, if Arabic people immigrated to the US legally, then that is ok and we should accept them.
ReplyDeleteThe racial landscape has changed drastically in the last few decades. Remember the rise of the Vietnamese communities back in the late 70s and 80s. Many seek refuge here in the US. After all, we're the home of the free and the brave.
Then over the past 20 yrs we've seen the economic landscape change, i.e., a world versus a national market. It is a zero sum game. When one country's economy improves, that means another country's economy contracted. If a country's economy contracts, the other countries in the economy take up that slack.
If in an economic contraction, other countries didn't benefit, then who did benefit? Remember it is s a zero sum game. The economies of Brazil and China have grown; however, the economies in Europe are portrayed as being on the brink of disaster. So, the picture is not completely clear were the wealth of the US has gone.
We had the housing bubble where there was a significant redistribution of wealth within the US that shook the world economy to the core. Countries are still deep in the throws of adjusting, look at the EU. Where did all of that wealth end up?
Hopefully, we can chart a course to a new economic prosperity in this more complex setting of a world economy. What can we now expect? What can we focus on as a nation that will strength our foundation so that we can spur a sustainable economy?
Arabs who want to come here legally and be Americans in their heart are fine with me.
ReplyDeleteTodd, simple research on your part would reveal how far from the truth many of your statements are. When opinion is being expressed, such as Rubio was superior to Clinton, I would say only a non objective, Clinton hater would dare express such tripe.
ReplyDeleteWhere did you gain your superior expertise on every subject, even greater than Nobel Laureates, while, as you admit, living most of your life in Nevada Co., by no means a diverse demographic county with extremely limited cultural educational opportunities. You know so much, write a paper and submit it to Foreign Affairs.
EdP, my superior knowledge was gained by living life. I guess yours is simply gained from lftwing pamphlets eh? Why do you come here and whine when you know you cannot compete in the battle of ideas?
DeleteI guess when you are dependent on other things for coherency this is what you get. Delusion. Why don't you try and debate rather than complain?
Because, Todd, you don't debate. You ignore all questions and push your agenda. When the agenda is Obama and Isreal, you make unverified assertions, and I suppled your blog with some info correcting the false statements you made that Obama has not supported that country. It appears far above, if you missed it.
ReplyDeleteI don't complain at all; I merely point out the continuing flow of misinformation you spread. As for superior knowledge gained from life--you got to be kidding me. I'm a Knight, you a mere page.
EdP, in case ypou didn't notice, this is my agenda blog. I can't believe how naive you are. If you want to correct facts have at it. If you continue to whine all the time then go ove r to your pal Pelline's blog. I bet you think his blog is a middle of the road non partisan blog don't you?
ReplyDeleteSo, toughen up and come on back when you have something intelligent to say.
Check your spelling too. I get crap all the time for my hitting send before I spell check, you should try it too.
Oh, and you may be a Knight, but I am the KING. What a hoot!
There's no whining in my posts and you certainly shouldn't comment on anybody's spelling. I've never said a word about your spelling as I understand how easy it is to make mistakes, especially using a laptop in bed.
ReplyDeleteSo now at least I have an opertional statement: you don't care about what you say being factual. Judging by the never ending stream of errors coming from the toothless dragon, dressed as Richard II, I will cease to give any credibility to your posts.
Thanks, it's about time. Adios.
DeleteEd is right Todd. You may not need no stinkin' fact-checkers, but everyone interested in serious debate does.
DeleteWhy can't you concede that a Dem/liberal/progressive may actually have a point, or at least something to consider on occasion? No ideology or political party has any monopoly on truth, virtue or effectiveness.
I certainly say so when I agree with a liberal's comment, but they are so few a far between about being "right" I can see why you think I never do.
DeleteThe problem with EdP is he is usually if not always, whining. He simply comes here to tell us all how naughty we are and how we should listen to him. That just doesn't work on someone else's blog. I suggest he create his wn and he can bloviate all he wants.
Regarding Obama winning the election and you and "Suzie" coming back to gloat if he does. I say, RIGHT-ON! If I win, I want to gloat so I understand your desire to do the same.
LIBS keep talking about Bill and his speech.
ReplyDeleteLast I heard it was "O" running for Prez.
Todd, you're a hoot and a toot. You haven't a clue as to what I said in the above post. You have lived a life of great meandering, but no meaning.
ReplyDeleteAh, but life is good EdP. I love putting a liberal in apoplexy.
DeleteBelieve me, Todd, you have no power to put me into a state of apoplexy. I enjoy pointing out how often political opponents get fundamental facts wrong, then build arguments based on those falsehoods. Time and again you have shown your inability to be conversant in higher level thinking, never responding to questions put forth by Ben, Steve, myself or any others. Response consists of name calling--anything to avoid answering.
ReplyDeleteAnd I come and go because I don't spend my life on these blogs. I spend a great deal of time helping people on an International health List service I co-own and run which is financed by a major health institute back east. One founder, recently deceased, won a Nobel Prize in Medicine. The people there, doctors and many other intelligent, educated, decent humans, have a much higher regard for me and my contributions. That's a key difference of individuals whom have traveled across much of this planet, always looking forward to meeting and interacting with people from other cultures and of different races and the Archie Bunkers of the world, whose idea of adventure and learning is lifting the cushion of their favorite chair to see what goodies may have accumulated.
Gotta go, Archie.
EdP, you are too funny man. You don't know squat about me but I must say, you certainly have a bloated view of yourself. What a hoot!
DeleteThink about what you just posted. Your central point, that I know nothing about you, is absurd. You run a blog expressing your view on various subjects, really letting go, showing who you are to everyone.
ReplyDeleteEdP, you are a bore but I'll let you stay for a while. Sheesh! Say something of importance would ya please?
