Obama, is he the President or a community organizer? SOTU, what the hell did he say?

The 93rd State of the Union was not unlike many from the past.  Simply a time to bloviate, a time to pat one's self on the back and a time to slap Congress, the SCOTUS and any other critic.  All in all, it was a pedestrian speech and totally forgettable.  In fact, I was yelling at the President because he was blathering way too much.  America deserves much better than what it heard and saw tonight.

The first couple of minutes set the tone.  He went into some "personal" stories of a few Americans to set the stage for his blathering.  It was pure drama and I was reminded of a daytime soap opera scenario.  You know, the doctor is banging the nurse whose husband is a cop who is banging the doctor's wife.  I thought it was beneath the office of the President and more suited to TV.  He actually mentioned "Mad Men" in one of his mini rants.  As a person who tries to keep up with the news and the happenings in DC and here in Sacramento, I was surprised at Obama's bending and twisting the truth on many issues. Energy stats were the worst.

When he started telling us all about how great the economy was doing, how those eight million jobs were created and all the rest I almost tossed my salad.  There are an estimated 93 million fellow Americans not working yet he he never mentioned them.  He said there were eight million signed up for Obamacare and we never have seen a number near that by half.  Then when he got into the personal stories I thought, My God, what are you doing?  The presentation was also lacking.  He seemed really nervous (maybe he realized we knew he was BSing) and he was off his delivery we usually see.

But the bottom line was it was a rhetorical speech and nothing more.  He tossed in some red meat that any American would applaud  and made a unemployed woman some sort of hero.  Hell, he could not even find the poor woman a job with all his power!  Yet she was a prop for his bloviation.  The serviceman who sat next to Mrs. Obama was he true hero tonight.  The man gave his all for us and the chamber erupted into the longest applause for him.  My goodness, his sacrifice for us took my breath away.  After that the  the best Obama could come up with was a passing mention to immigration reform and the minimum wage.

He did say a few times that if the Congress did not act on his policies that he would take the Constitution into his woodshed and beat the crap out of it with a pen and telephone.  I watched Speaker John Boehner for cues on applause and excitement.  There were few and the Republicans in the seats were mostly quiet.  I did not hear Obama say once, not once, Harry Reid, "you too need to get your act together".  So, it was all partisan as usual.  Obama decries the speed at which things get done (or not done) yet does nothing to bridge the gap of difference.  He is arrogant and full of hubris and those traits are not good for getting a "consensus" on anything.  We see the the same things with out local FUE.  Not pretty.

So there it is, we have a community organizer masquerading as our President and we are stuck for three more years with incompetence.  The bright side for me though is when nothing gets done in Washington DC, the American people receive a reprieve!

The Republican response was given by the highest ranking woman in the House of Representatives.  Her name is Cathy McMorris-Rodgers and she represents the 5th District of Washington State.  That is Eastern Washington where there are still some free people.  Not like the western part of that state where many call Seattle and environs the "people\'s republic".  I thought she did a good job of keeping things cool and she showed respect for the President.  She simply laid out the Republican plans for many of the policies Americans are concerned about.  There is a stark difference between the parties and she shined the light on them.  I think she has a great future.  A common sense, American woman.  I think she defused the contrived democrat attempt to resurrect the "war on women" bullshit from last year.

All in all, Obama was flat and appeared as if he did not want to be there.  His speech was un-inspiring and gobeldy-goop.  The only thing I agreed with him was on removing our troops from Afghanistan.  On to a Republican sweep in the US Senate and House and many more Governors and Legislatures in 2014.

  1. Don't know what you were watching. Great speech, not enough hard shots at the Obstructionists however. Obama continues to try to be respectful to the right wing lunatics, who think our immigration system and income disparity in this country is just fine. Loved, loved that he confirmed the reality of Climate Change. Case closed indeed. Move on!

    1. My observations here are correct. Yours seems to be fantasy. Climate change is real and I agree with that statement. It is raining here today and was sunny yesterday. The climate changed. It is man-made global warming which is the fantasy. Regarding the obstructionist Republicans. I agree to that as well. The more the R's can keep things from being passed the more free we stay. Good job R's.

Immigration reform? Sorry, there are too many Americans out of work to turn over the jobs to illegals. Seal the border first then we can deal with the illegals. Self deportation would be great and then they can go apply legally.

Income disparity only exists for you liberals that are too lazt to get a job. We say you can have all the income yu want if you you just start practicing the American way. Get educated and get a job, or create one. Then when you finally start paying taxes you will change your views and become a Republican.

Oh and on your excitement on Obama telling the world "climate change" is real, when he says liberals are no good and he says so, will you agree? A proclamation by the KING is only happening in Monaco man.

    2. From what I can see Obama is only respectful to what Obama wants to do. He is one of the worst presidents in terms of leadership, he has none. I think Romney's comment today was something like he should get both sides together, make deals and bust heads when necessary to lead. He is more incompetent than Jimmy Carter and more corrupt than Richard Nixon.

    3. I will agree that on several occasions in the last 5 years, he should have grabbed that cowardly Boehner around the neck and told him to put down the wine bottle, get his ranks in line and get stuff passed like his Jobs Bill that can get 60 votes in the Senate to help the middle class. Definitely not tough enough with Boehner.

  2. Great observation on your part Todd. The presidents speech was total rhetoric because it means nothing. He and his democrat congress constantly do the opposite of what they say. Remember the saying, "don't believe what they say, but watch what they do. It's pathetic.

    1. I could hardly believe the democrats were applauding the President when he told them he would circumvent them to get his things done. Those fools would give up their Constitutional authority to a dictator apparently. All who applauded that should resign immediately.

    2. Repubs had their chance to work with the President, but they decided to obstruct. Time to use every other legal mean necessary. Not a single legal analyst has said the President is outside his powers to issue Executive Orders, as many others have done.

    3. Not agreeing with the President is not obstruction, it is politics. You want to give up the peopel's house? I don't. Regarding EO's. I never favored them by any President. They are extra-constitutional. In a House committee this last week Eric Holder could not point to the EO's constitutional provisions in the document. They are not there.

    4. Then why haven't the Articles of Impeachment been filed? What are the right wingers waiting for in this election year? Seems like it would be a winner if what you say is true.

    6. You are the racist. Who the heck makes the money that the government confiscates to send you your welfare check? Those people on the right. You on the left are just takers and freeloaders who then complain about the presents you receive for doing nothing. Man, what a ungrateful nut.

    7. Yes indeed. The post above is a great illustration of how the black man in charge of this nation (portrayed as the Communist, anti-American, devilish cretin of a foreign-born interloper on the American Dream) creates exactly that type of anti-intellectual, rambling, non-sensical, non-sequiter response which Todd so nicely displayed. Thanks much for shining a light on the frustrated righty mentality we are dealing with!

    8. You know someone like you described? I don't. We obkect to the policies. You are the racist and that is why liberals are so despised now. You are stuck on stupid and I am not.

  3. God Todd must you torment Bobs Big Boy with your every post?

    1) Then why haven't the Articles of Impeachment been filed?

Because the senate is still controlled by TEAM EVIL....maybe after the election TEAM STUPID rolls the dice and tries to rid the country of the "Idiot in Chief". I wouldn't count on it though....it's so much more fun to have a corrupt, empty suit of a president to bash around.

    2) What are the right wingers waiting for in this election year?

    Err...ummm....the election?

Surely the left could have done better than sending us this empty suit promoted by the Hyde Park machine. President Hollow Chocolate Bunny, a legislative cipher with the "fluffed up" resume and carefully hidden educational record...really he was the best you could find?

    4. What are you boys going to do with Hillary in charge for another 8 years? See any signs of a Ted Cruz or Chris Christie Presidency? Anyone else out there to challenge that can unite the nation? Man oh man, 16 years is a long time to be angry that the world has pretty much moved away from conservative wealthy white protestant men being in charge of things.

Self appointed court jester....although you certainly appear capable of the task your own self.....talk to Todd...maybe you can guest jester on occasion.

But since you think that the presence of Hillary concerns me...really....What difference at this point does it make?

Look girlfriend, after the current administration I'm going to need a little cool down time that only a dreary little midwestern coat tail rider like Hils can provide. I eagerly await our new menopausal overlord.

I'm going to laugh my ass off watching TEAM EVIL led by ol thick ankles herself try to clean up the mess that is the Obama administration and un-tarnish the democrat label. Bring it dude....you guys nominate Hillary and I'll vote for her.

See any signs of a Ted Cruz or Chris Christie Presidency?

    I don't thinks he's eligible and no.

Man oh man, 16 years is a long time to be angry that the world has pretty much moved away from conservative wealthy white protestant men being in charge of things.

It's just adorable that you believe this....and will admit it publicly. If you were here I'd pinch your chubby little cheek and tousle your adorable mop top!

    1. ??? Not very much hair here! But we can wish...

I would assert that its likely W will be the last wealthy white protestant man in the White House for many years, possibly decades. Demographics and such, ya know. So just wondering how you boys react to these trends? See anyone to change that? Any answers or just further unintelligible court jestering? Gotta give Todd credit- at least he has tangible, unique thoughts and his own brand of analysis for the topic at hand.

Maybe forever.....! I guess you can put down the little blue pill secure in this notion.

Demographics and such, ya know. So just wondering how you boys react to these trends?

Yeah....about time we brought illegals into the light so they can be yoked in the tax system like everyone else. I doubt they'll stay down on the democratic plantation for long though. Were I them the notion of paying for social services for flabby self indulgent white baby boomers wouldn't be all that high on my list.

How will we react to these trends...relentless mockery of people like you.

Any answers or just further unintelligible court jestering?

Probably more Court Jestering.....I'm not sure you're capable of rational discourse.

I prefer watching the fascinating demographic and political landscape unfold and challenging the right.
I still don't see a national Presidential future for the traditional hard right, but there is always hope! Christie could have run as a centrist if he could outmaneuver and intimidate his Repub opponents, but that ain't happening now with scandal after scandal attached to his brand.

    1. Actually I think the country will return to the boring, cracker type as President. You remember the pendulum don't you? We tried the margarine now the people will judge and go back to butter, what they know best. America is 70% white, i/2 of thos are women and so any candidate will need coalitions of interest to make it happen. After ObamaCare (HillaryCare) and all this racial turmoil brought on by Obama and his minions, Americans will want a peacemaker. Not a "transformer".

My guess is Scott Walker may become the candidate. Young, attractive, successful and a doer.

      Delete
    2. I agree with you about coalitions. Scott Walker is a possible nominee, but unknown to a large swath of America. He's well thought of by the right, but has baggage himself- ie. labor vs. the 1% which will be a huge issue in 2016. He will definitely help the union fundraising effort in 2016! Name recognition is a massive factor in national elections. Hillary retains a very high approval rating among Americans, even in the face of all the attacks over Benghazi. She is a centrist of the highest order, has the best political team and fundraising arm known to man, which to me puts her in the election sweet spot. She's certainly not my favorite pick, just the strong favorite. The Repubs should fine a qualified woman as their candidate.

Really, lets not bring your masturbatory materials into the discussion ...really best kept to yourself Jeff.

Nope fat boy is done....Team Demotard will need to find another foil to prop up before the general election....don't worry though, someday your prince will come.
