Don't you R's fret too much. State Legislatures and Governorships still a Republican Majority

Watching and listening to the pundits of all sides one would think the Obama victory was a death knell for the Republican party.  Well, since the lamestream media and the paid consultants of defeat at the Presidential level apparently don't do any homework on the issue, let me teach them.

America is far from a democrat stronghold.  The states are majority Republican.  The Senate and Assemblies of a majority of states are Republican.  There are more Governors Republican.  So why all the angst and gnashing of teeth?  Even as I write this the Legislature of Michigan has or is in the process of, passing a "right to work" law and the Governor has promised to sign it.  Michigan has many democrats at the federal level but the people at the state level want Republicans running the place. This is common across America.

Democrats own the California and New York Legislatures and many northeastern state's as well.  But in the South, Midwest and northern states, Republicans hold the Houses.  In Wisconsin where the democrats created endless turmoil; and spawned recalls against Republicans last year (and this year), the R's regained the Senate there!  Though Obama won the vote for President, Wisconsin voters liked the R's to be in charge of their state.  This to me is a good sign the political makeup of the country is healthy.

Sure, Obama and his lackey's in the Executive branch control lots of programs and political appointments.  Yet a lot of the damage Obama and his minions can create can be stymied by the Republican House.  Since no spending can originate in any other place under the Constitution, R's have a trump card hard to overcome.  As long as the R's have the guts to hold tight, nothing Obama and Harry Reid want to happen can proceed.  I hope the House holds tight on spending cuts and reworking many of the mistakes made from the past.

HERE is Ballotpedia's summary of the 50 state's legislatures and if you read it thoroughly you will remain convinced the country has not lost its mind.  I do stand by my opinion that the Democrats have been peopled by morons and takers.

As you review the Ballotpedia summaries, please note that the R's have a 56-41 majority in the state Legislatures and 29-20-1 in Governorships.  I don't think the R's are on the run.  I call this a normal political result when you review history.

So all you people down in the mouth about the Romney loss, cheer up!  We will regain the Executive branch.  For all you ecstatic democrats regarding the billion dollar man, Obama and his victory, don't get to cocky.  I will give you a break until the day after Obama's inauguration in January.  Then It will be back to the normal back and forth bashing we have come to love in America of our political leaders.

  1. You keep spouting this garbage of "Republicans didn't really lose even though they lost!" over and over and over again since the loss of the election. Will you just get over it?

Even Newt thinks the Repubs will lose if Hillary gets the expected nod.

"Secretary of State Hillary Clinton regularly brushes off the idea of a 2016 presidential bid. But if she were to run, at least one prominent Republican thinks his party would be completely outmatched.

"The Republican party is incapable of competing at that level," Gingrich said during an appearance on NBC's "Meet The Press."

    1. Paul Emery, I have a lot of respect for Newt but I do not believe everything he says about four years hence. If you do then you should send him money because if he does know the future, perhaps he can tell you yours.

We have a plethora od qualified candidates, men and women. The difference is democrats are lying scumbags like Obama and they have the lapdog press. Republicans are nicer and that is the reason they have a tougher time. They also have a hostile press that gives them anal exams on things like the lying scumbag Harry Reid's BS on the Senate floor regarding Romney. Heard any apologies from him?

    2. Oh, please. Republicans are just too nice to be able to win? You give every excuse possible. The Republican policy did not appeal to the majority of Americans in this election. That's what actually happened. Get over it.

    3. Get over shat? Democrats are on the run in the states and just barely held the Presidency. You libs are simply morons on policy and tactics. If you read the article it may help you understand why you all sound so ignorant.

    4. I don't look to Fox-News-watching Republican construction workers who never actually had a college education for insight. It seems that you see what you want to see rather than looking looking at the facts. I will not entertain this.

  3. A plethora is right: Sara Palin or Michelle Bachman would stand up against Hillary. Or what those losers who ran for Senate who don't seem to understand anatomy? Speaking of lying scumbags, does the name George Bush ring a bell? As for the lapdog press, if there ever was a liberal bias, it disappeared when Congress passed the Telecommunications Act of 1996 allowing the media to be conglomerated and purchased by the billionaire boys club.

    1. Hillary will lose in 2016. Regarding the news bias. You can't be serious? If you are and think that a couple of talk show hosts and one news organization are too many when your ilk has all the rest then you do belong in the moron party.

You were off the mark in this election by over 10 points. You picked Romney by 6-8 and Obama won by nearly 4. What is is that you know about about Hillary losing in '16 that you didn't know about Romney in '12 ?

Obama did not barely win. in reality the American people gave President Obama a second term with a landslide election victory, by bigger margins than Nixon, Kennedy, Carter, and both Bushes.

    3. Landslide? Wow PaulE, your are too funny. I think I won my election by a larger percentage. What a hoot.

      Todd

Wake up' Romney got pounded. 332-206

Obama won by 136 electoral votes. Historically that's considered a landslide. Again more than Nixon, Kennedy, Carter, and both Bushes.

So again what is it that gives you renewed confidence in predicting elections after your dismal showing last month? Do you have some dramatic new information?

    5. Oh you were talking about the EC and not the popular vote eh? Aren't you the one that wanted the EC booted when Bush won? I am a master at prophecy PaulE. I win some and I lose some. Just like Johnny Carson.

      Delete
    6. Yes I was talking about the EC Todd. Remember, we're a Republic. "EC booted when Bush won?" You made that up Todd. Are you willing to put up a steak dinner at the Willo that Hillary,if she runs, will easily beat any Pubber on the roster?

      Delete
    7. So why are you dodging the question? You were against the EC before you were for it. What a hoot!

      Delete
    8. Not true Todd. You're making things up. Please document you're opinion of my view on the EC.

      Delete
    9. "You were against the EC before you were for it."

Not true. Please document your assumption.

    10. In your world PaulE, it is the allegation that is more important then the truth. What a hoot!

    11. Todd

Once again please document your assumption that "You were against the EC before you were for it." It's not a position I've ever expressed. If you can't document it it would be respectful to withdraw that statement.

      Delete
    12. Sure PaulE, we know you hated the EC when Bush was the winner. Come on, fess up.

    13. I've always been a supporter of the EC even when it went the other way from the popular vote.

Nate Silver calculates that it will take a 52% Repub vote to win the next Presidential election because the Dems have the big states locked up in the EC making a victory almost impossible. Put your money where your mouth is. Steak dinner at the Willo that it's Clinton in a romp.

    14. Here's what nate has to say about the EC and the future of the Pubbsters in '16. Sorry for the bad news.

      http://fivethirtyeight.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/11/08/as-nation-and-parties-change-republicans-are-at-an-electoral-college-disadvantage/

"Based on a preliminary analysis of the returns, Mitt Romney may have had to win the national popular vote by three percentage points on Tuesday to be assured of winning the Electoral College.

    15. PaulE, you have some sort f fascination with Nate? 2016 will be a huge sweep for R's and Nate will be crying the blues.

    16. It's the ol' Pubber Soothsayer once again sharing his vison. Oh wise one can you share the source of your wisdom and why were you on a different planet last month. And, as a verification of your confidence how about that steak dinner at the Willo that Hillary wont win in '16?

      Delete
    17. Oh yeah

If you were really a student of contemporary politics you would study Nate Silver rather than put him down. You better believe whoever becomes the Repubs strategist will. I don't think Carl Rove or Dick Morris or that stupid Unskewed Poll you followed will get any notice.

  4. Dead serious Todd. I have been tracking this for 20 years. 95% of talk radio is conservative not just a couple of talk show hosts. Westinghouse owns NBC, Disney owns ABC, the majority stockholder in CBS is billionaire Sumner Redstone. Time/Warner owns CNN which was started by Ted Turner because he thought mainstream news was to liberal. And then, of course, the Republican Broadcasting Network, FOX. These same companies own most of the publishing houses and television stations in the country. Clear Channel Communications, a large promoter of Limbaugh.. owns over 1200 radio stations. Before 1996 they could only own 40 (20 AM & 20FM). Before Reagan they could only own fourteen. Most media in the world are owned and controlled by conservative wealthy stockholders who hire like-minded executives to run their companies. Over time the playing field has slowly been slanting right. In today's world, because he started the EPA, title 9, and the consumer product safety commission, Nixon would be considered a flaming liberal. You have bad information.. there is no liberal bias.. the real bias is conservative, corporate, and wealthy but they want us to think otherwise so we don't believe any bad things said about conservative policies. Pretty sneaky, all a scam so the wealthy can keep the rest of us under their thumbs just like the robber barons.

    1. Norquist is not going anywhere and you just make things up. The fiscal cliff is a manmade fantasy. One only needs to look at Japan and see what happens to a country when the government "knows best". Let the free market prevail, remove the bulk of the regulations and unleash the creativity of the American people. Problem solved with a short term amount of pain. My money is my private property and the government should abide by the Constitution if they want some of it.

  8. Look at the media idea this way Todd. If you owned a company would you hire people who bad mouthed your other companies? I think not. NBC is famous for running stories about nuclear reactor problems but never disclosing that the reactors were built by their parent company Westinghouse.

    1. I think you mean GE. The liberal journalist hegemony in America could care less if they trash business and people as long as they believe they are the "middle of the road" in politics.

      Delete
  9. I stand corrected.. Actually even that has changed. Comcast now owns 51% and GE 49%. I don't know if I would call pointing out defects and problems in nuclear power plants "trashing" business, but I would call leaving out the name of the manufacturer bias reporting.

  11. BTW Todd, your citation of Republican state reps and govs is an outlier...these are not radical right. Why? Because each one of these states has a Big City that is Big Blue. Big cities drive the bus, everyone else is just a passenger. That is why Obama is still president. Kapiche?

  12. Poppycock MichaelA. What I wrote is right on the mark. When a party controls the State Houses, what happens? Golly, they get their way in legislation, redistricting and budgeting. So dream on dude. You have no clue.

  13. Still a fan of Chris Christie now Todd? LOL!!!

Gotta love the way he honestly laid out his party bosses in the House, right? OMG, he was merciless! The right wing extremes of the Repubs are going to be its downfall, as many of us predicted 3 years ago!
