Wall Street Journal's Excellent Editorial on the Alleged Hacking Scandal

While no one I know has any use for anyone hacking a telephone of anyone, except of course our government hacking IRS and Mafia scofflaws, we all must be careful about overreaching.  The WSJ editorial HERE about all this is right on the money.

I watched the British Parliament twice yesterday and the hacking issue was the only topic.  David Cameron was outraged and he was firm in his pursuit of those that did the alleged hacking.  Of course the Labour Party PM's relentlessly hammered him and to his credit, he is a cool, calm character and I respect him and his intellect very much.  What became clear to me though is the total hypocrisy of the Labour Party which was in charge for 13 years up until losing 10 Downing Street this May.  They had many chances to root out the hacking but they punted.  They punted time and again and that was pointed out by the Conservative PM's.  Gordon Brown had a filibuster going on when I turned the second phase of CSPAN's telecast last night.

He was the Prime Minister of the Labour Party until May.  This happened on his party's watch and yet I heard him trying to blame the Conservatives!  Just like here in America, liberals are always trying to blame the conservatives for their behaviour, the liberals, and a willing press is always there to pounce on the lie.  The same thing is happening with News Corp and Rupert Murdoch.  Since FOX has come along, the traditional hegemony of the liberal mainstream media became suspect.  Now we all know the old media was totally biased against conservatives and in the tank for the left.  Murdoch gave American a choice and they have flocked to his FOX News and other publications.  This made him a target of the lamestream media and boy are they trying to smear him and his media empire.

One branch of his empire apparently has been accused but the left and their water carrying lamestream media sycophants are doing their best to smear the whole company.  Well, that is what they do to any Republican caught being bad.  Smear the fellow and then claim it is a "culture of corruption" of the whole party.  Well, NEWS Corp buys ink by the barrel and they can defend themselves.  Yes, the people that did anything illegal will probably be punished and rightly so if they broke the law.  But, we Americans and other consumers of NEWS Corp media will not condemn the whole organization.  We are too smart to fall for the leftwing talking points of personal and organizational destruction they have almost perfected.  No, we will still watch FOX and we will see them report on anyone arrested and prosecuted for any law breaking.  Unlike Dan Rather being given a pass for faking documents and trying to affect a Presidential election here in the USA.

"no influence in the editorial"... this statement makes no sense.

"No influence" as in if one reads the article it has "no influance" on smart folks that know Rupert Murdoch ownes the WSJ!... Duh !!!

  5. It's clear that Todd didn't even know the WSJ was owned by Rupert Murdoch!

It's also clear Todd didn’t know the head of the WSJ just resigned. Guess why Todd... guess what job the former head of the WSJ had before going to the WSJ?… Duh !

  11. WSJ is owned by Rupert Murdoch!

The head of the WSJ just resigned and what job did the former head of the WSJ have before going to the WSJ?…

well Les Hinton worked for Murdoch's News Corp. for 52 years and is one of the media baron's staunchest allies. A member of the board of The Associated Press, Hinton became head of Dow Jones in December 2007.

He was chairman of Murdoch's British newspaper arm during some of the years the abuses took place.

So do ya think the WSJ might be a little biased on this one?

    Got it?

  12. Facts are facts and after listening to the testimony this moring I believe these hacking issues are being addressed quite wwell by the British. Hinton resigned becasue he took responsibility for the time he was at NOTW. Murdoch had no knowledge but has directed his company to assist the police in getting to the bottom of all this. You are cracking me up though with your POV as usual. Got it?

  13. NEWS FLASH... call AP fast!

Todd knows that "Murdoch had no knowledge"... or maybe we should wait until the growing investigations are completed before making that type of unfounded claim... Duh!

  15. Even Enos' liberal heros in the media are conceding that Murdoch probably had no knowledge of the hacking. Others in the liberally dominated media have gone so far as to say that this witch hunt on Murdoch is totally politically motivated. Those that chastise Murdoch while ignoring Soros are biased simpletons.

....once again we find another in a long line of liberals living in a land of make-believe. A land that is required to try and shield them from their blatant hypocrisy and denial of reality.

In light of the way liberals virtually control all the televised media, it is apparent that anybody that spouts the daily talking points of liberalism is incapable of original thought. Sprinkle a dash of arrogance on top of the denial of reality and what you have is a full-blown Enos ass-clown.

It is sad to see grown adults with the analytical skills of small farm animals.

  16. Not sure what that last angry rant was about, since Mr. Enos has simply laid out facts here. What did Mr. Enos do to you to deserve your full front personal assault?

You want reality? The reality is that this FAR right leaning media conglomerate is under FBI investigation into criminal conduct. The vile, greedy media barons are in trouble. This unethical far right media organization has committed criminal offenses and caused a national scandal in Great Britain, and done great damage to the reputation of its right wing Prime Minister.

  17. I was planning on writing to thank 2.1 for a real good chuckle but then before I did I read Chase's comment. Now I have to thank both of them and I can't decide which is the funniest.
I am sorry to have to say that I am not capable of putting into words what my impression of Chase. Perhaps Captain Queeg. Oh My!

  18. None of us condone hacking somenes voice mail and that is reprehensible as I have stated in my post. Enos and his leftwing brethren only chastise the right, never the left. Therefore his comments are simply partisan and carry no weight.

  19. Which leftist organization is under investigation for phone hacking?

    ...NONE...

Ah, the chronically angry Mr. 2.1 does seem to exhibit many of Captain Queeg's traits.

  20. Just in case you didn't think that through, you're not helping yourself there Chase! The truth hurts huh! And no one knows better than you.

  27. Let's review:

Todd claimed above that "Murdoch had no knowledge"... I posted "maybe we should wait until the growing investigations are completed before making that type of unfounded claim".

Todd responded... "the evidence will prove me out"

Well it seems the Murdoch family lies are already starting to get out:

LONDON —Prime Minister David Cameron on Friday said James Murdoch, scion of Rupert Murdoch’s media empire, should be recalled by parliament to address allegations he misled lawmakers in his testimony on Britain’s phone hacking.

Further upping the pressure on Murdoch, 38, an opposition lawmaker called for a police investigation into whether Murdoch lied.

At issue is whether News Corp. executives knew of the widespread practice of phone-hacking at their now defunct News of the World tabloid -- which illegally accessed the phones of thousands of British citizens -- and whether the executives tried to cover it up.

On Tuesday, while testifying beside his father before a British select committee, James Murdoch denied having ever seen a key piece of evidence that emerged in 2008 – an email suggesting phone hacking went as high as the tabloid’s chief correspondent.

But after two former News Corp. executives cast doubt on his assertion – saying they personally had shown the younger Murdoch the email in question –several British lawmakers insisted he should be recalled to address the discrepancy.

  28. Wasn't Rupert the point not James? Yep. The police allege and want to do a investigation, that is fine, te truth needs to be found out. The difference is I want to wait and you want to condemn before that is all done.

  29. Todd tries to rewrite history and fails to read his own posts above!

As everyone can see from the posts above I was the one that said folks should wait until it is all looked into. I posted:

"Todd knows that "Murdoch had no knowledge"... or maybe we should wait until the growing investigations are completed before making that type of unfounded claim"

The above was my response to Todd's above claim that:

    "Murdoch had no knowledge"

It was Todd that claimed "Murdoch had no knowledge"... not me.

PS: Todd both Murdoch's, daddy and son provided testimony at the same time.

Seems Todd can't deal with his own post above and now agrees with me. Nice 180, you must feel dizzy.

Todd's last post states "The difference is I want to wait and you want to condemn before that is all done".

Sorry Todd but everyone can read your post above. You are trying to rewrite history, but the facts and you own posts above show the truth.

    Game... set... match!

  30. No Steve, you seem to be stuck, perhaps you should read with better comprehension.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Sorry, but the truth is clear and the posts above can be seen by all. The above posts show the truth.

Seems Tood is the only one with a comprehension issue.

  32. The idea that "the truth is clear" to Mr. Enos when it isn't even clear to the UK parliament is truly hilarious.

Someday our liberal friends will apologize to the people of this nation for being complete morons.

you have described the loony liberals way of thinking spot on! What cracks me up is the post copy/pasted by him says the UK police may open an investigation on James veracity. What is an investigation? Oh, when they have to find out if something is true. Which seems to indicate they don't know.
