Stewart's Rally a Flop, Sorry I had to Bring the Bad News, Top Photo is Stewart's, Bottom is Beck's.

  1. I guess 2 pictures are worth a thousand (+) words. We'll see the final count come Tuesday.

  2. Reality check needed:

Jon Stewart's "Rally to Restore Sanity" on Saturday started out as a spoof of Glenn Beck's "Rally to Restore Honor," but the parody proved bigger than the real thing.

CBS News reports Stewart's event drew 215,000 people to the National Mall in Washington, based on a crowd estimate from AirPhotosLive.com.

The same company, which examines aerial photos of crowds to gauge attendance, estimated between 78,000 and 96,000 people attended Beck's rally in August.

  3. Liberals are so easily manipulated.

Look at the aerial photo. Do you have a mind of your own Steve or are you only capable of having a thought that the liberal media authorizes for you?

Wow. Liberals take me to new places of amazement everyday.

  4. Um, maybe you don't realize the rallies did not take place in the same location? Beck's took place at the Lincoln Memorial, and Stewart's took place near the Capitol, which are almost 2 miles apart at opposite ends of the National Mall.

  5. The Stewart/Colbert rally was in a different location, the OTHER side of the Mall. And there were way more people at it than at Beck's. Sorry to have to, you know, tell you the truth and all.

  6. Desperation time. Liberal columnist Stephen Foley still quotes CBS's 87K estimate for Beck that has now become a national joke for its credentials. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/bigger-than-becks-jon-stewarts-rally-eclipses-fox-news-pundits-effort-2121848.html

  7. I know you guys are desperate to keep the big swinging d*ck that comes with a rally total, but I live in DC, and I promise you there were more people there for S/C than for Beck. Biggest metro ridership day in 19 years, all cellular companies completely overloaded, and a greater density of people per sq.foot. Oh yeah, and more diverse, too. WAY more diverse.

  8. And we had Abraxas, the party dragon. Which was nice.

  9. Take a look here for the Rally to Restore Sanity/Fear:

You may notice that the Lincoln Memorial is *not* in fact located anywhere near the Capitol. I can show you on a map, if necessary.

  10. Wasn't Becks a political rally and the Stewart/Colbert a comedy rally?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Todd... so do you got it now about the BS photo and the different locations? Do you got it that a LOT more, 2-3 times more folks attended the Restore Sanity event that Glen Becks event?

  12. I don't believe liberals that constantly embellish the truth for their own ends.

Most of the liberal media, politicians and those that support them are not trustworthy.

I think Joe Sestak, Kendrick Meek, Micheal Bennet, the Howard Jarvis tax payers association and the Republicans involved in the healthcare "negotiations" can attest to that.

I'm not sure what happened, but progressives have become cheats, liars and scoundrels.

  13. Todd's post/story is a so far WRONG it must be a joke. Hey Todd, do you even know where the Sanity rally was held?

    ReplyDelete
  14. So if you liberals don't believe it give us your overhead pictures.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Todd, are you serious? Your picture is a MORE THAN A MILE from the rally. That the crowd spilled over at all to the Lincoln should tell you something about how utterly wrong you are.

Do you have an overhead shot of the Capitol from Beck's rally? Otherwise, there's nothing to compare, but here's a shot of Stewart's, anyway: http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-20021284-503544.html (Please note the shot does not show all the people on the street north of the rally, unable to get close due to the giant crowd of people already there. We had to just party/rally in the street, instead.)

  16. This discusses how the crowd counts were done for both rallies:

  17. Ed, I posted the pics ehrtr is yours?

  18. Looks like 25K at Stewart's. Anyway, it was a parody and it seems to have the left apoplectic. The left thinks the Stewart rally was for them to take credit for. That is the point. How funny!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Why do people on the left lie to themselves and others?

    Woodsy 2.1

    ReplyDelete
  20. Why must it always be left vs. right? Both sides lie. Both sides have criminals and cronies in their ranks. Politics is fundamentally messed up. That's the point. The Stuart Rally wasn't about right or left. It was about making sense, having intelligent discussion, and cutting out fear-mongering.

I don't see how that can be a partisan position. Everyone, on the left or on the right, should be supporting that ideal if they want to live in a great country. Ignorance, fear, and lies are what allow bad people to come into power and stay in power. Only an intelligent, informed, and empowered populace can stand up to that.

Again, where is the right-or-left in that?

    ReplyDelete
  21. That's pretty hilarious -- you didn't even bother renaming the photo you posted: one-nation-fail1.jpg. Totally different event. Stewart had more than twice what Becky had.

Does clapping harder really make you feel better? Glenn Beck is a manipulator and you've been had, buddy.

  22. "Ed, I posted the pics ehrtr is yours?" What does this sentence even mean?

I posted a link to a link to a pic showing an overhead view of the rally. Here it is again:

It's clearly more than 25K. It's clearly in the hundreds of thousands. If you can't see that... dude, I don't know. Your inability to see reality scares the crap out of me.

  23. It's clear, Todd was clueless! He posted a photo that wasn't from the Sanity event and then crowed "Stewart's Rally a Flop, Sorry I had to Bring the Bad News, Top Photo is Stewart's, Bottom is Beck's."

This is sooooo sad. Todd and facts just don't go together.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Rally to Restore Sanity a success: An estimated 215,000 people showed up to Washington, D.C.'s National Mall for Comedy Central hosts Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert's tongue-in-cheek rally -- more than double the number that were estimated to have turned up at Glenn Beck's "Restoring Honor" rally in August.

This vs. Todd's claim and his failed attempt to use a phot that isn't even from the sanity event.

Exit question; Did Todd get caught in his lie or did Todd fail to do his homeoerk before making such a claim?

Either way... Todd's claim is false and 100% wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I follwed the links provided above by "Ed C.". These photos are the real photos, not the false photo posted by Todd.

The real photos and the facts show it was a massive event, MUCH larger than the Glen Beck event. It set new records for public transit use too.

Exit question: will Todd update his lie with the truth and the real photos?

  26. This shows a comparison of the two rallies:

  27. Mr. Juvinall,
There are things about the current conservative movement that bothers me but there are two things the bother me the most; one is the amount of religion brought to the table and the other is the tendency towards the denial of reality and basic facts. I recognize that you, given your attendance at a ‘evangelical church’, would likely not have a problem with religion in politics but the denial of reality is a different matter. I live in Washington DC and attended both rallies. To attempt to deny the difference in attendance is simply foolish. Yes, in general the mood was totally different, the Beck rally was actually somewhat grim, the Stewart rally was lighthearted. I doubt that either will make any difference in the long run, or even in this election. I will say that as long as conservatives continue to deny basic facts and as long as they refuse to recognize that the world and culture is changing they will, in the years to come, see that their numbers and their influence will weaken.
BTW, I worked for CREEP and with Ronnie in 1976 and did not break with him until I decided that he had sold out to the religious ‘right’; that would have been during his first term. So knock yourself out calling me a liberal.

The anonymous oust after SHM was removed because it adds nothing and was a personal attack.
