LaMalfa Fundraiser a big success!

I attended Doug's LaMalfa's Fall Harvest Fundraiser at his farm in Richvale last Friday the 17th.  It was a lot of fun and I thoroughly enjoyed the evening.  I took a gal-pal and we made the rounds.  I got to see some old friends like David Reade and others.  I even had a Lady seek me out to tell me she loves this blog and reads it all the time! I guess about 300 atytended.

The evening went fast but I must say, the food was great.  The Four H kids did the serving and I think Doug's relatives did all the cooking.  The Paradise City Council served the drinks. We had tri-tip and chicken with all the fixins.  The tri-tip was so tender!  The entertainment was a series of dances by  young Hmong ladies in costume and with their countries music.  They were great!  Apparently there is a large number of Hmong in Oroville and vicinity.  They were America's allies during Vietnam and many fled here as the communists took vengeance on them.  A Major from their military was introduced.

Doug LaMalfa made a nice homespun speech and introduced all the dignitaries.  He even introduced me!  I got this picture at the beginning of the evening and before he was shaking all those hands. LOL!  Vote for this man, he is a really fine fellow and a good Congressman.

  1. Glad you posted the event Todd. Sounds like fun. I always enjoyed reading Doug's common sense opinions he used to have in the Union. Miss them.

    1. Thanks Bonnie I see Greg Cook did a letter to the editor in today's Union supporting Doug too! There was some loon democrat attacking him as well. She mentioned Obama's skin color. Those libs are all racists!

  2. Now Terry Lamphier isn't happy with Diaz and he wants a refund! This is part of the latest Yubanet story on Diaz's latest debacle, Seems Diaz's best friend the FUE is not covering this:

Seven (7) pallets of sample ballots are unaccounted for. Four of the pallets were supposed to be at the Grass Valley post office but the vendor (ProVote) stated they can't locate them. Three additional pallets are supposed to be at the Nevada City post office.

    - The vendor has provided postage receipts to the Elections Office proving the ballots were mailed on October 14th from West Sacramento. ProVote also provided receipts showing the sample ballot booklets being mailed from Porterville on October 14th.

Supervisor Lamphier provided the following statement: “I’m very concerned about the integrity of the voting process. People need to have confidence in government and this kind of thing hurts us all. Candidates spend thousands of dollars to have a timely official candidacy statement before the voters to help them make informed choices before they vote. There is also the issue of candidate mailers sent to voters to coincide with ballot mailings. These also cost thousands of dollars. With local elections often very close, these kinds of mistakes can make all the difference in who gets elected or how people vote on ballot measures.”

In his email, Lamphier also wrote: "Jack Meeks, Jim Firth and myself all think that a refund of our candidate statement fees should be made. Jack’s fees were around $1300; mine were around $250. There may be no legal grounds to get a refund but [Clerk-Recorder] Diaz may have discretion."

    1. Pelline is in a conundrum. Who does he break bread with the most? Hmmm!

  3. Another California business is going to Reno, seems the FUE missed this. San Diego based Petco will build it's new distribution center in Reno. A $35M construction project, 770,000 sq. ft. and 150 employees that will make an average of $17 per hour.

Maybe the FUE will claim this will help Nevada City and Grass Valley like the proposed Reno Tesla plant funding by the taxpayers.

We need jobs in western Nevada County and clueless folks like Terry Lamphier and Jim Firth can't grasp the reality of that.

    1. The FUE misses a lot. He and Annie Fabbie must be the same people since she only responds to my blog on his blog. Too funny. Anyway, California is foing their best to drive out the folks that make the place work.

    2. I guess creating several new home kitchen jobs, starting the ball rolling in 2011 to rezone the Bear River mill site to industrial, working on forwarding a local biomass energy plant and expanded high speed internet, exploring options for development of the Conaway Ranch, exploring options with rancher Jim Gates for a local meat processing facility, fighting to protect local businesses against low-paying chain stores, etc. don't qualify in Mr. Anonymous' world as fighting for a good local economy. Or perhaps he/she is creating straw dragons...
One previous supporter is angry because he is working to bring chain stores next to Dorsey, requiring a zoning change. Current zoning allows medical and professional offices that would be a great complement to our local hospital and, oh yeah, pay well also.

    4. Terry, as you can read I refrain from criticizing you and other Supes, well most other Spes. It is a tough job and since I was there once I have a little bit of an idea the difficulty. Good luck in your election attempt.

Firth though deserves my criticism since I have no use for Unions.

    5. Terry. I'll stand behind these questions:
      1. Did the cops come to your house and confiscate your county computer? Yes. No. No comment.
      Circle One.
      2. If the answer is yes, do you know why? You are a public official and the public deserves to hear from you, so quit circling the block and man up. If the answer is "no comment" we can take that as a yes.

Lamphier, it's time you woke up and smelled the coffee. Diaz has screwed the pooch time and time again. It's fact that Diaz needs to be replaced, just look at his record of screwing the pooch. The FUE keeps defending his buddy Diaz and now Lamphier is seeing the reality of Diaz's repeated failures.

    Diaz screwed the pooch again!

  5. Based on my conversations with senior staff at the County Elections Office, an elections specialist at the California Secretary of State and a previous local elections official, as regrettable as the situation is, our local elections office has apparently met all standards of election law.
The question now remains: what the heck happened with our government postal service?

  8. I would direct the readers to carefully analyze Terry Lamphier's above post from yesterday, 10/21/14 12:51 PM.Lamphier uses words like "started the ball rolling", or "working on forwarding", or "exploring options" to describe his achievements as a Supervisor the past four years. These are parsed words of non-accomplishment because he can't actually point to any real accomplishments he has achieved. Lamphier has not accomplished anything because, a) he has no grasp of what it takes and, b) he has no respect or support from his fellow Supervisors. This is the exact scenario that will occur if he is ever elected to the Grass Valley City Council. We will get great pontificating about obscure ideas and nothing of any real substance. We need real leadership and Terry Lamphier does not have it to give.

  9. Apparently Jeff Pellime is mocking our Congressman on his blog. That is his right to do so but it does show that he is truly out of touch with the district. He and Annie Fannie, a Pelline sock puppet, seem to think the Hmong's are beneath them and are making fun of those brave people. I truly think Pelline must be drinking Aqua Velva and it has injured what brain cells he has left. Too funny!

Why Pelline uses women's names as his "sock puppets" says a lot about his thought process. I guess he is getting in touch with his "feminine" side. LOL!

If it wasn't for Pelline's obsseion with me and this blog he would have nothing to write about. Can you believe he was the editor of our Union newspaper? My goodness!

  10. In case you all don't know it, I'm the FUE and I hate The Union newspaper. I stock The Union and rant about them non stop because they don't do everything the way I want them to do! Yes I once worked as The Union editor, but that didn't last long. I'm no longer working at The Union but I rant about my former employer endlessly like a little child. I stomp my feet and rant like a little kid that doesn't get his way.

    1. Pelline has worn out his welcome with most people in my opinion. He attacks and denigrates just about everyone. His only friends are his sock puppets like Annie and Windy. I recall my friends three year old child had imaginary friends but later gave them up. Pelline still has them. LOL!

  11. Can you imagine Pelline stomping around The Union and micro-managing every single reporter so that The Union portrays his veiwpoint instead of being unbiased? Not too terribly difficult to contemplate.

    1. Current and former Union newspaper workers that were exposed to Pelline sure have endless stories about his unhinged behavior and childish rants. It's clear from their accounts he was despised by his fellow workers.

  12. LaMalfa supports gun ownership and the Constitution. The Lib's want to take all the guns so government can control us.

This is worth the 2 minutes to view. It's a little history of who has killed over time, that being the government and why we need to keep our guns. Our Founding Fathers knew this and that's why the Constitution protects our rights to have firearms:

  13. Poor Jeff Pelline. The man is dense. Too many cheesey fries affect his noggin. Aqua Velva? My goodness what a dolt. He an Annis Fannie are a pair! What a hoot!

  14. Yes Todd, Annie has a pair, but she is all mine and you just stay away from her. I have heard the stories about the TSA scans and all the women swooning. Annie, Windy, and Gloria are all mine! Maybe you aren't the Aqua Velva Man after all. Maybe you are the Marlboro Man! I wish I wasn't such a dipshit. I could really use a friend like you. All I have, besides the girls, and their girls, are real winners like Diaz, Frisch, Firth, and Lamphier. Think about spending an evening hanging out with that crew. It's no wonder I spend all my time huddled at my desk, typing with one hand. I hate my life. I'm going back to Berkeley to write a book about all the good old boys that were mean to me in Nevada County. That's it! I'll become an award winning journalist and author! Then I'll have lots of friends! LOL!
