Liberal Talkers? An endangered species, Rush is king!

http://www.talkers.com/images/audiencechart_september13.jpg

I started listening to Rush Limbaugh back in 1995 when the Congress went Republican and they honored him as the reason they won.  I actually credit Clinton's overreach and Barbara Boxers theft of Postal Credits at te House Post Office.  (California honored the thief with a Senate seat).  I have listened to Rush often and though he is full of himself (with every right to be I might say)  he has been a voice needed by the American people.

Rush spawned a whole bunch of people taking to the airwaves (I did from 1995 to 1998 on KNCO) and they are still going strong.  Liberals however are a bust with the people listening to radio and their failures in radio mirror their failures as people in real life.  I consider them mean and nasty with no morals, ethics or humor.  Ed Schultz is the best example and Air America (I think that was the liberal radio network) went the way of the DoDo bird.  Schultz was hired by MSNBC on cable as they filled their ranks with many losers.

I am glad we have these conservative and Republican radio folks since all we ever got before Rush was liberal dogma in the form of "news".  So here is the latest Talkers Magazine ranking of the radio men and women.  Go Rush!!

  1. Leftwing talkers have an intrinsic handicap. Like all people who lean toward socialism, the radio talkers cannot, dare not use deductive reasoning from collectivist principles to prescribe specific social policies. Extolling collectivist principles gives the game away – everyone will quickly see that we will then be ruled by an elitist autocracy (or worse). No, what they have to do is what may be called rump induction. Start with stories of the individual poor, the sick, the homeless, the unemployed, … and hope that the listener can induce from these the necessary collectivist (e.g. socialist) principles that can then be used to deduce new government interventions to make the world a better place. This is called “issues activism”.

But sadly, the liberal talk radio audiences aren’t that bright, and they don’t follow public affairs closely enough for the talker to use such nuggets in his arguments for any profit. So the show just winds up as a mixture of ad hominem attacks on the Right and more anecdotal recounting of same ol’ same ol’ examples of how a market economy is not serving ‘the people’. Even for the great unwashed, better stuff can be heard just a button push away. Rebane

    1. How true George. One only needs to read the tripe from people like MichaelA, SteveF and BenE etal, to see those people are truly too far gobe to save even with the truth and logic we on the right convey.

    2. Quite the opposite George. Right wing listeners are always in search of simple, black and white answers to the complexities and complications of the world. They are addicted to Rush Limbo and the like for just that reason. Simplicity brings comfort to a changing world, a scary new world where minorities become empowered and Judao Christian norms promoted by the monied classes are open to question. Rush is a link to Leave it to Beaver for many, and his show follows the lines of classic Sales Techniques 101. Lemmings.

    3. Bruiser. Actually you libs are the lemmings. The right usually are the entrepreneurs while the libs are the trust babies or employees. You would follow Obama right over the cliff and never ask why. Too bad you cannot think for yourself.

  2. Bruiser 1056am - I noticed that you didn't address my main thesis about leftwing talkers stating and starting from collectivist principles. Care to dispute that by outlining some of those principles or tenets of collectivism?

  3. Here is one of my principles of collectivism: people before profit. What does that mean to you Todd?

    1. It means you are a communist. Stalin was a collectivist and he murdered 30 million peasants, you know, those poor folks you care so much about. A conservative actually cares about the people since it is our dollars that help the poor.

Also, no more anonymous comments. I require your true name and email.

  5. Question- how is this shutdown nonsense going to increase the base of voters that are sorely needed to elect Repubs in national races? Just riddle me that one! Romney got trounced by the changing demographics, and now this stunt? As Mr. Nunes and Mr. King have stated, this is suicidal stuff by Repubs. Best of luck though.

Can you explain to me what the "great unwashed" is supposed to mean? Does this refer to the hygienic habits of people who disagree with you ?

Real name thank you.
