Democrat chickens on gasoline have come home to roost

Well there you have it.  All those democrat voters, in lines a mile long, waiting for GASP! Gasoline!  The ones I saw being interviewed were apoplectic.  "Hell, I voted to make sure ANWR is left a pristine bog in Alaska, pass me my five gallons please".  Oh the irony.

These states are the bastions of liberal policy and liberal eco thought.  Fossil fuels are anathema, well except when the fuels are scarce it appears.  I feel for these people and have sent my donations off to the Red Cross to help, but after having listened to the Charles Schumers, Bernie Sanders and Robert Menedez's all these years stopping oil and gas exploration and demonizing the industry, I just can't dig deep enough into my gut to feel sorry for those bastards.

Someone said we are only a couple of days away from anarchy at any given moment.  No gas, no food, no electricity (IPhone, Blackberry's yikes!) and voila, the civilized world is now playing caveman.  The fact the east coast was ravaged by a storm and appears to have been unprepared for the aftermath is breathtaking.  There is a hundred million people back there and many have been affected by "Sandy".  Just as we Americans from everyplace have helped each pithier in times like this, fires, earthquakes, tornadoes etc., this is the first time in my lifetime of recollection the east has experienced this destruction.

Mother nature could care less if you are a democrat or a Republican.  She will smite everyone.  But at least a Repuvlicans have been doing their darnedest to prepare the country for these things by being the ones putting the food on the table and gas in the tank.  Today it was reported the government agencies were telling the people it will be weeks before many of the comforts lost in the storm will return.  Then the next story was how Home Depot, Sam's Club and Lowe's had trucks full of goods, lined up ready to enter the zone of destruction, ready to supply the necessities.  That was happening in moments.  They were prepared while the government was not.

Maybe we should put those CEO's in charge of disaster preparedness.  Then it was reported that tankers were offshore and unable to dock in the east coast ports because the Coast Guard had closed the ports!  My GOD, is this what things have come to?  Apparently.

So, there it is.  Years of eco policies, years of government dictates and regulations on everything and we get PARALYSIS in all things government.  We get ACTION in all things private.  Next time you liberals are in line for five or ten gallons of the precious fuel for your Prius, remember how it feels to be in uncertain times.

NEVER VOTE DEMOCRAT.  That is the lesson here if you actually want to drive a car, take an elevator or have a cup of fresh water.  Because you didn't build that, a Republican did.

    2. Proud to be a denier? Lowest barometric reading on record in NYC. Water levels of unprecented nature. Mayor Bloomberg, Gov. Christie believe in this obvious climate change. As do 75% of Americans. As do the vast majority of scientists. As does the rest of the world. As did Mittster before he had to win the primary. It ain't random weather.:)

When the President wins re-election, climate change will finally re-appear on the Federal radar.

      Watch Florida on election day...:)

  2. Whatever the causes, we are experiencing more epic disasters. It started to gain notice with the Katrina disaster. American's, and others around the world are going to need to adjust building codes near coastal areas and modify local and state emergency plans.

    1. Obviously you have not read the logs of ships captains in the 1500's and 1600's off the coast of Florida. If you did that little it of research you would read that they had worse weather issues and more hurricanes. But, you are a sheeple and your world view must be your coach, staring at Al Gore and Rachael Maddow. Amazing.

    2. I can't say that I am in league with Man-bear-pig, nor Rachael Maddow. I've seen her but can't say I like her that much.

The issue from a government perspective is to take steps to ensure that the public is protected from natural disasters. Apparently, via Sandy and Katrina, we've learned that epic storms can happen and do happen. We need to be prepared.

  3. Dear Jenny,,, Big storms happen. One just like it hit over a century ago, in the same damned spot.
The Pacific gets cooler, and the Atlantic gets warmer. This happens in long drawn out cycles. This is a fact of nature.
Your ECOvangilist Gore has got you not just barking up the wrong tree, but the entire, wrong forest.
Sorry my dear, Man can't change the climate, no matter how hard he tries.
Furthermore, Stacking the deck with name changes,,, First with " Global cooling" back in the early 70's, then changed to G.W. because it sounded better,,, then to AGW, to add the guilt trip to the mix,,, then on to "climate change" when none of the "chicken little" computer models didn't play out as predicted. All in the name of Fed. grant money to keep the hoaxers pockets full. Your ECOvangelist Gore has made millions off this scam.
Yes,, your one of those "true believers" of this made for TV religion.

One another note,, The people suffering from this storm with no fuel and electricity, transportation etc. is just how the ECO nuts wanted all of us to live.

You are witnessing how life would be without oil and coal. Enjoy.....
Don't forget. these are the gas prices "O" and Co. wanted.(Gore too)
And this is what you voted for when you put "O" into office.
You got what you wished for.

Now LIB unions are demanding those that come to help join their unions.
Those non union volunteers have told them to "F" off.
Yup even the unions are now to blame for extended outages. How do you think that will go over when those people effected hear about this? Unions are now on borrowed time.

  5. Todd, you are writing like a total nutcase on this subject. Your facts are wrong, your assertions are incorrect because they are not based upon facts, and your opinions are wack-a-doodle because they are built from myths and goofy stuff you just made up in your head.

Here are the FACTS about why there is a gas shortage in New York City and surrounding areas right now:

    1. There are enough gas stations now open (power on, roads clear) to serve all of the people who need gas, but they don't have enough of the product to satisfy demand.
    2. There is a three-week supply of fuel sitting idle in storage facilities, mostly in and around the port areas.
    3. There are tankers offshore filled with product, with more on the way thanks to U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano issuing a blanket waiver to the Jones Act to allow foreign flag oil tankers coming from the U.S. Gulf of Mexico to enter ports in the Northeast.

So what's the holdup? THE STORAGE FACILITIES ARE FLOODED AND MANY ARE STILL W/O POWER. You see Todd, it's all part of a supply chain that's had a key component disrupted by a 500-year storm event. Sandy was more than a hurricane: it combined a hurricane with a winter storm with a nor'easter.

"It is not something that will happen often, but it really gives us a lesson that New York is highly vulnerable," according to Ning Lin, assistant professor at Princeton. The good news is that Sandy will probably result in the mid-chain fuel facilities being hardened so this doesn't happen again.

So you see Todd, this has nothing to do with Democrats or Republicans. Only a nitwit with an ax to grind would claim that the gas lines in NYC are due to partisan politics.

  6. MichaelA, your information needs to be more than the DailyKos and Obama talking points. For a self proclaimed intelligent person you are just dumb. Evert hing I wrote is true and reported on many different sites. If you have a beef with the facts then talk to the hand.

I am heading for the airport for a encore asked by the TSA female screens at the X-ray machine. Try harder next time you draft dodger. LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  7. Todd, how can I possibly be a draft dodger when the draft ended before I was eighteen? Answer me that, Batman.

And all of my older friends who were drafted and then returned wounded and disheartened--and who had to listen to people like yourself who were 1-A and supported the war but unwilling to put their butts where their flapping jaws were--thought very little of people like you. But this is old ground, we have already established that you are a sad little chickenhawk.

Regarding the gas problem in NYC, using people's suffering to make a political point: it's pretty much along the same lines as those who are using the Benghazi tragedy to claim that Obama is guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors because of an alleged coverup, or at best that he is completely incompetent as Commander-in-Chief.

These are the unfortunate mewlings of members of a political party that is on the wane. Nothing more.

PS The Democrats are also waning, but their pitch into the earth is a little less steep.

Take advantage of the safety the country gives you through a strong military and then trashes the soldiers and their missions. Typical cowards hiding behind your momma's apron.

Benghazi is Obama's fault. The story and timelines now being exposed tell us Marines were available to help. You try your best to protect your favorite using the deaths of Americans he could have at least tried to save. You are disgusting. Making political hay out of the murder and disgusting attacks on our brave men there. You need to shut your pie hole about things like this, you are an embarassment. Amazing.

They thought the "great apology" for the "film" would be enough to cover it up.
Sorry... The American people saw through that BS from day one.

So you never served our Country. And your excuse is that you were too young for the draft. Well,,, SO WAS I!!! That didn't stop me from enlisting on my own @ 19.
Are you somehow "too good" to be in the military? There are NO excuses except if your what was called " 4F ", or just not mentally of physically able to handle the job. It's up the Doc's to make that determination.

I take umbridge with those that Diss our troops that never had the "pair" to even
    attempt military service.
What I did had no glamour, or was "state of the art". Just plain old "civil engineering". The A.F. equivalent of the Navy Seabees. ( you have heard of them... right?) Actually one of the few jobs in the A.F. that's considered a combat related job.

  13. Golly {PaulE, you have asked me this many times and I have responded every time.

I did not avoid military service I was 1-A the whole time. I was subject to the draft and was ready to go if called to do so (high school). Then the lottery was instituted by your buds the democrats and I was in the first one. My number was 326. They took men up to number 118 that year. So, there you have it. Then as a civilian I worked and paid taxes to help support our military and even debated your buds the hippy dippies on locaackl TV back then. They trashed the troops and I supported then in support of the military..

So, PaulE, answer my question in depth regarding why you don't hold Obama and Clinton to the same standards as you appear to hold me? Is it because you and they are "silver spooners"? PaulE, did you serve in Vietnam?

    1. So you dodged the tour in Vietnam eh PaulE? You see PaulE, there really is no differnce between you and I regarding the military. I could have been called up if my lottery number was picked but it wasn't. You could have been sent to Vietnam but weren't. A difference without a distinction. There are many people during the Vietnam War who went into the Coast Guard, Reserves, National Guard and Merchant Marine who later said they did it to avoid going to Vietnam.

All in all, it is ironic to me that I was defending the militarily then and now you lovelies trash them and somehow try to make folks like me shut up about the topic.

PaulE, please explain your support for Clinton and Obama as you seem seem to have disdain for those that have not served. What is it about them that keeps you from treating them the same as you appear to be treating those that did not serve, like me for instance. Come on now, I know you are a smart fellow, tell us in depth why you give them as pass?

  18. One more things Todd

As an Air Force Reserve member I served six months active duty as well as two weeks every summer (try going for six years without a vacation) and one weekend every month to fulfill my reserve commitment. For six years I lived with the fact that any day I could get the call to active duty leaving my wife and job behind. Don't talk to me about commitment to this country in times of war till you can match that.

    ReplyDelete

    1. But PaulE, according to MichaelA, you avoided the War over there so you are a dodger. I personally respect your service and have told you many times. However, you seem to think I am unable to have a opinion since I was not in the military. It was be just as absurd if I said you could not have an opinion on County Supervisors since you were never one. Capiche?

    2. How come I get the gut feeling that Paul E. was under "conscientious observer" status? Those are the ones that don't go near the battle zones, so the military finds them the "easy work" and stuffed them

  19. No Todd

I was a recovering Republican in those days so I felt the need to serve so I volunteered for the reserves which serve a vial role in our national defense system. You had no desire to serve unless it was at the point of a gun or you would have at least joined the reserves if not volunteered for active duty.

You are the one calling others draft dodgers Todd not me.

"Try harder next time you draft dodger. "
    Todd JuvinallNovember 2, 2012 6:19 PM

Because you didn't think it important you stayed home. I doubt that you would have been there when Washington crossed the Delaware. You would likely have stayed in you little cabin and waited for the smoke to clear and given the guys a slap on the back- job well done when the survivors came home. Patriotism when someone else fights the wars is a hollow cheer.

I would feel the same way about Clinton and Obama if they were calling others draft dodgers. Of course neither Romney or Ryan volunteered to serve so what's your point

    1. Pretty illogical there PaulE. You don't know me or my life and as all liberals do you make p stories, repeat them and then believe they are true. I would probably have been in the Continental Army fighting the British on the front lines while the reserves were hiding in their momma's kitchens.

What fascinates me about a liberals logic though is best illustrated by your comments on the defense of your reserve duty. You expect me and others to pat you on the back and thank you (which i have done) yet you trash Bush relentlessly for being in the service. You do not hold Clinton and Obama to the same standards as you do people like me and you make lame excuses for them. You are just a transparent hypocrite on this PaulE and perhaps you should expect some blowback from that.
