Speaker Boehner |
Doug LaMalfa, the next Congressman from our District |
I am an unabashed supporter of Doug LaMalfa for Congress. I have been since I first met the man when he was running for State Senate. He is a man who knows what it takes to run a household, a farm and the State of California. Now I want to see him take his common sense to Washington DC.
I received a announcement that his campaign is doing a BBQ at his farm. I have never been there but I am going. It is on August 19, 2012 and will be attended by John Boehner, Speaker of the House of Representatives and third in line for the Presidency. I am looking forward to the Speaker's words of encouragement.
Back in 1996 I was Chairman of the Nevada County Republican Central Committee and was heavily involved in all the campaigns that year. My friend Bernie Richter, then the Assemblyman representing our district, and his son-in-law, David Reade, then Chairman of the Butte County Central Committee, were able to secure an appearance in Chico of Newt Gingrich, the the Speaker. I organized some big buses and filled them with local Republicans and we traveled to the event. It was a major success. Thousands of people from all over came to see Newt. My son got his autograph which I framed and have on the wall of my home.
The day was exciting because we wanted to show our support for Newt and the R's in DC who were finally in charge. Newt led the reformation of the budget, welfare reform and many other issues. The press hated him as they still hate R's today, so we were motivated to show them they were full of crap. Newt gave a great synopsis of the achievements of the R's in such a short period of time and we loved it. No filter of the lamestreams. Of course, the reporting of the event was muted by the lamestreams, even in the District, but we were there.
The District then and now is a Republican dominated one. We seem to have attracted many R's to live here and most of our representatives are Republicans. There are pockets of liberals of course, Chico and Nevada City being two. But for the most part we are represented by conservative men and women. Doug LaMalfa will fit in real well with his conservative ideas and practical experience.
I am looking forward to rubbing elbows with fellow conservatives and I am betting Speaker Boehner will do a good job of uniting the disaffected from the primaries. We on the right are proud of all the candidates who ran and I hope any wounds can be forgiven and allow us to proceed to victory as a united group.

ReplyDeleteYes,, Off subject. Why in HELL are our athletes having to pay taxes on the medals they have won? This is insanity. A gold medal is taxed at just about a grand.
ReplyDeleteNo wonder Mike Phelps isn't giving it his best this time around. He hasn't paid off the taxes from his last big win.
