These entertainment types are just plain stupid. I liked her songs and her pics in the Playboy magazine many years ago but her political mouthings are just too funny. At a Washington D.C. gig, that little Madonna, the epitome of leftwing thought ranted to the audience that our President is a "black Muslim".
HERE and HERE are the articles. The Rolling Stone has the video too.
So while the liberals and democrats scream at anyone who questions Obama's self proclaimed religious beliefs and his nation of birth, their own seems to be given a pass. Oh, Madonna they say, she is just a singer, what does she know? Well hell, maybe she knows the truth? Could she have the inside scoop? Is the press hiding the truth from the American people? Why would Madonna say the man is a Muslim?
So, let us hear from the dumbass liberals who call people "birthers" or conspiracy nuts. Please tell us how this woman can get up on a stage in front of thousands of people and say the same thing you excoriate others for even thinking. We know you won't say anything. We know the lamestreams won't beat the issue to death over many weeks like they do a little gaffe by Romney. This is too funny.
Madonna, thanks for you calling your hero Obama the first black Muslim President. It is on tape, we all heard. You just can't make this stuff up.
I saw the video, it didn't sound like she meant it literally. She was using hyperbole throughout the entire speech. It was all trash talk. I think she was just pushing buttons. That's what she gets paid to do.
ReplyDeleteBTW Todd, check out Nate Silver's latest. Obama rising, Romney falling. Now what are ya gonna do?
http://fivethirtyeight.blogs.nytimes.com/author/nate-silver/
You libs sure stick together in even the face of irrefutable facts and a video right in your face. Amazing..
DeleteRomney 54 Obama 46. Check it out.
he New York Times get no respect for veracity from anyone who has a brain.
DeleteYeah, he was only right on 49 our of 50 states in 2008. If I were you I would rely on The Blaze.
DeleteRomney 54 Obama 46 Rasmussen is better anyway.
DeleteYou're predicting Romney by 8? Apparently you like public humiliation. Nothing wrong with that- just sayin.
DeleteYeah, 25 out of the last 26 polls are wrong. Yup. Each of the RCP, NYT, Wash Post, Huff Post aggregate polls are wrong. LOL!
Ohio- OVER. WI PA, MI - OVER. FL- strongly movinng Obama.
That's OK anonymous Jen. Also when you use "just sayin" you show us all your liberal shirts.
DeleteI told you I will happily come here and gloat after Obama wins. And so I shall!
DeleteLOL!!! Jen is back? Just couldn't live up to your promise. " no post till after the election".
DeleteSince Lefty news is just an extension of White House these days, and "their" polls will always show Obummer ahead.
Then there is that news about "O" and Co. arm twisting Gallop because the Gallop poll didn't reflect " what they wanted it too". So even Gallop is suspect, and tainted.
Back East where coal mines and power plants are shutting down right and left, jobs are being killed off wholesale, Lefty news still tries to show Obummer "winning!". You think the friends and family, not to mention the miners themselves, will vote for the guy that took their jobs away? Keep dreaming. Lefty news back there says "O" has the union vote from "their polls". I guess they missed the story of all the coal miners voting for Mitt. ( Ya,, UNIONS!!)
Hey Walt, thanks for that important news on the coal mining vote!
DeleteUnfortunately, NASCAR fans favor Obama. Many more of them I'd reckon.
LOL,, Good luck with that. Real rednecks don't vote Liberal.
DeleteNASCAR fans love the USA, and they know Obummer don't. Obviously you don't know the crowd you are talking about. So maybe 3% may vote LIB,, but that's about it.
BTW,, I thought you were no longer talking to me? ( I know,,, I'm just too irresistible to ignore and love. LOL!!)
JZ Analytics and Zogby give the President a 7 pt. lead among NASCAR fans. Lib conspiracy or simply distrust of an uber-wealthy, out of touch Wall Street patrician?
DeleteRomney was booed at the Daytona 500 in February during a campaign trip ahead of Super Tuesday. PER THE NYT: The crowd initially booed Mr. Romney, who occasionally struck a discordant note, as when he approached a group of fans wearing plastic ponchos. "I like those fancy raincoats you bought," he said. "Really sprung for the big bucks." And when asked if he was a fan of the sport, he mentioned that "I have some great friends who are Nascar team owners."
Hey Walt, hey big boy..front page, major Wall Street Journal today...Coal Mines shutting down in Appalachia due to China Slowdown.
DeleteTodd wrote: "The New York Times gets no respect for veracity from anyone who has a brain."
ReplyDeleteOn every single story!?! Wow, that it is a huge lack of veracity. An epic lack, even.
They lost their veracity many years ago and only a handful of dedicated people wishing to be misinformed and read partisan liberal tripe have stuck with them. Try the Wall Street Journal.
DeleteAnd another thing...I just noticed that your website background theme is like a library, but none of the books have titles. That seems a little creepy to me. Shouldn't the books have titles? Do those books even have any words in them? Jeez Todd...
ReplyDeleteWhat is creepy is your question MichaelA. You must be a bit off. This is a stock background of Google so perhaps yu should wrote them and tell them. You are truly odd.
DeleteDon't blame Google, Todd. You're the one who chose that background. Shades of Fahrenheit 451, sir.
DeleteIf the election were held today. It is not being held today which is unfortunate for the United States of America but very good news for America's fortunate son Mitt Romney and his campaign. The real shame of it all is we will not get to hear from Gary Johnson or Jill Stein at the Presidential debates. If I were you Todd I would focus on who will control the House of Representatives, which is just as important.
DeleteObama 347 electoral votes Romney 191 electoral votes

Ben, apparently he relishes the role of being the only human being in the US who thinks Romney will win by 8 points.. But you are right Ben about the lack of a truly independent option. Just as I am sad for the race in our local district that lacks a Ben Emery.:) That being sad, I HOPE with all hope that Obama becomes a much more powerful voice on climate change, energy, and the environment in his second term now that we are winding down in Afghanistan, and now that he won't be running for a 3rd term.
DeleteBen, did you read that this exciting information today?

DeleteJen,, You going to take the "material girl" at her word and vote for the Muslim in the W.H.?
ReplyDeleteHear how he got the money to go to collage, and by who?
Yes, this was affirmative action at it's finest.
OK Lefties,, Just in case Oloser wins, who has the tools to take off his training wheels?
Does the rule of law mean anything to you people? Story after story come out on a daily basis of someone in his administration getting caught breaking the rules of the land, and nothing is done, they keep their jobs without question.
Score one "star" for the Right.
ReplyDeleteMike Rowe is in Mitt's corner. One thing is for certain. Mike has a lot more respect from the masses than a washed up singer that has to add shock and ahh to her performances just to drag in a crowd.
Ya' gotta love Mike. He is one who never fears getting his hand dirty. ( just like me!)
Mike Rowe is who?
DeleteEven though this debate has totally devolved into petty argument...you can see on fox that madonna did not really mean what she said:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2012/09/26/madonna-explains-away-her-black-muslim-obama-comment-as-ironic/
She was trying to be "ironic" and didn't really mean what she said according to an interview she did with fox news. We are all aware of the veracity of foxnews so this should be pretty solid evidence.
Sure, yeah, unhuh. Yep that was it, ironic. Amazing!
DeleteStill clueless. Facts don't mean a thing to you; or reason, intelligence, expertise, science. Read some Umberto Eco, if you are able to digest even the first chapter. You're isolated from reality and just spew confrontation and misinformation.
DeleteTime to retire to a monastery on one of the west coast Islands, say Iona, of Scotland. You don't contribute any positives to life's experience; just ridicule, hate and a demented ideology. Say what you want, but you are a third class thinker with no solutions.
Eddie boy, you are back in all your self importance. What a hoot! I am actually mobile and travel around so I am far from isolated. You?
DeleteExactly what Ed Peritz said. My good god Todd, stop embarrassing yourself!
ReplyDeleteI like it when s liberal tells me that. Then I know you have lost. Thanks Suzie.
DeleteLost what? You are so, so delusional. On all levels. At the rate the polls are moving Democratic, this election is moving toward a freeking mini-landslide for President and the Senate. The House will be close, very close. The day you note Romney/Ryan momentum (LOL!!!) please let us know.

PS Your books still have no titles. Just an FYI.
I thought you two said you were non aligned. Methinks you are fibbers.
ReplyDeleteRomney 54, Obama 46. Take it too the bank.
Here is a good place to see an unfiltered poll result.
ReplyDeletehttp://unskewedpolls.com/
I am not worried.
You can take Todd's prediction to the bank at Washington Mutual, Lehman Bros. or Bear Stearns. Your choice.
ReplyDeleteGotta love that right wing invention- unskwedpolls.com. Very clever.:) Always keep that hope alive..specially with candidates like Romney, Akin and Brown killing that hope. :)
As opposed to your "leftwing" lamestream media? Yep, dueling polls.
DeleteIf you did not un-skew the polls how could you keep the Pac money flowing? The only other option would be to have the stealth candidate Benjamin Netanyahu start WWIII.
ReplyDeleteI woild say your technique for PAC money flowing is correct, but for Obama. Romney's cup runneth over.
DeleteSo Todd, I guess you resort to smart ass remarks because I'm bedridden most of the time. Cheap crud from a hypocritical fundamentalist who knows nothing about anything you think you do.
ReplyDeleteIt's the chicken hawk cowards as you seem to be that are really the worst we have to offer. Whoever wins, you'll remain a mean, nasty, ignorant nobody who has no real education or life experience. Good thing you grew up here, cuz you wouldn't have lasted 10 minutes in New York.
Why thanks Eddie boy. I take namecalling by liberals like you as a honor. Thanks.
DeleteWell then you should have lots of honors.
DeleteAbsolutely Eddie, but your slights don't rate very high.
Deletegod I would kill to see Sheldon Adelson's face the moment Fox News calls it for the President on election night!!.... some Federal prison for old Shelley? :)
ReplyDeleteYou got yo give Adelman credit for putting his money where his mouth is. Regardless, he will still be a billionaire and you will be poor.
DeleteOK, OK..he'll be a convicted less-of-a-Billionaire in the Federal pen.
DeleteOn balance, I think I'll take my fortunate life over that sleazy scumbum on any particular lifetime. :).
Todd, it's kind of funny reading some of these comments. Looks like harrassment, with nothing interesting to add to the discussion. I watched Madonna's little clip as she gulped water between inciting racism and mob mentality. Makes me wonder how long it'll be when excited idiots start burning down and destroying America like they do in other parts of the world. Years ago I remember watching sports fans in Europe rioting over a soccer game and thinking, "I'm glad we don't do that in America." Not many years some disgruntled fans started doing that after a football game. And then there were the disgruntled Democrats who tried to disrupt the Republican Convention not many years ago. Journalist Huffington complained that the police arrested her along with others for their legal, peaceful demonstration. Online news and photos showed why. The demonstrators were breaking business and car windows.
ReplyDeleteThe numbskulls on the left like to riot and break things Bonnie. Maybe we should have the draft and then they could do that in a military uniform overseas. The Seattle riots and the lefty anarchists who riot all over the industrialized western world just show us all how close to destruction the human race really is. The Occupy nuts are the latest example here. I would bet a lemonade on a hot day they would stop their rioting if we adults took away their Iphones and Gameboys.
DeleteI believe the discussion was about Todd's inability to catch Madonna's satire. Then it morphed into the election polls. Thats what happens on blog forums. But you know, noisy crowds and concerts kinda go together Bonnie. But the aged Madonna is hardly someone about to spark a revolution. But hey, it would certainly possible to see rioting in the US if the Romney/Ryan plans ever came to full fruition, ripping apart the American safety net for the less fortunate. Thankfully, it looks as if the American voter is smart enough never to allow that.
ReplyDeleteI did not get irony because there is none. She is a dolt with a once nice voice and body who is stupid about others. You libs would be rioting in the front of Clint's house if he said the same thing (after singing "I Talk to the Trees"). We take your protection of your own numbskulls as just part of dumbasses sticking together who have no class.
DeleteWhen the history books are written, I am quite sure they are going to attribute that senile monologue act, in support of his new flick, as one of the definite moments when the Romney campaign jumped the shark. Since that unfortunate Clint appearance, Willard's fortunes have been nothing but down, down, down.... thanks very much Clint! Like his Mission Ranch restaurant, but if I was him, I'd be maxing out on pomegranate extract..or such.. to ward off the obvious impending dementia. While we are at it, we can thank Todd Akin for his wonderful, unscripted moment that turned the Senate campaign a 180. Wonderful stuff from the party of bumbling half-wits. :)
DeleteAnd we can thank Obama and Hillary for the torture, sodomization and murder of our local Ambassador. You people are too much.
DeleteWhy would you spout such a vile, vulgar lie? And who is "you people"? god the Romney debacle is really affecting you.
DeleteYou need to read or watch the news for goodness sakes. All true as reported by your media. If it is vile it is your people to blame. That is what you are supporting homey. Live it love it vote for it.
DeleteJen is right, just an unsourced spewing of hate. You don't knpw what happpened. You'd be to afraid to go near a danger zone, boy.
DeleteEddie is afraid of those little old ladies too it appears. What a hoot!
DeleteEd is correct. Not one single shred of credible evidence of any sex crime committed against Chris Stevens. It was a rumor floated by terrorists. I don't even see it on a Faux News search. God you are weak in your due diligence Todd. Weak.
DeleteYou two need to look at more sources of information, not just MSNBC. I am very confident on my review of the facts as they are from many different and disparate sources. Try it sometime.
DeleteThe Journalist was Amy Goodman and it happened during the Republican National Convention at St. Paul in 2008. At that time you could find photos of the property damage, but not now. Here's a Los Angeles Times account I was able to find. http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2008/09/rnc-protests.html When you do the search you'll notice a political pattern. That's no excuse for such violent behavior trying to intimidate and frighten those at the RNC convention.
ReplyDeleteBonnie, you have to understand that Jen and her ilk support leftwing rioting and so any facts of yours are meaningless to her and them. If the acts of rioting were done by a conservative though, she would be braiding the noose.
DeleteBonnie,
DeleteThe are called plants who start breaking windows and things. Peace movements have teach ins on non-violence and how to deal with the police if confronted before big events. http://www.warresisters.org/node/1277 is an example of such trainings. Or it is a group of anarchists who think smashing up things is the only language people understand because the almighty dollar reins above all else in America.
The first amendment is my permit to peaceably assemble, exercise my free speech, and petition the government for a redress of my grievances. When I am marching peacefully I am within my rights and police officers do not have the authority to redirect or cage us into free speech zones, any public property is a free speech zone.
You have to understand being cuffed and hauled away rarely results in a conviction or even a charge. I have never been charged but hauled off many times. It is a form of intimidation and removes dissent from the streets during a public event. Our nation was founded on dissent and those who sit in power always crack down on those who challenge their power.
Five Questions To Ask Those Who Sit in Powerful Positions
1)What power have you got?
2)Where did you get it from?
3)In whose interests do you use it?
4)To whom are you accountable?
5)How do we get rid of you?
If the answer is anything outside representing the citizens or the people it is the wrong answer if we want any form of democracy.
I do remember the police brutality on the innocent bystanders in the crowd, including journalists like Amy. Happened to peaceful Occupy protesters in 2011 and early 2012 as well. Powerful interests love to suppress visible protesters. Not sure how it relates to a Madonna concert however...
ReplyDeleteYeah Jen, probably those little gray haired women of the Tea Party beat your pals up. What a hoot!
DeleteHave seen angry, intimidating Tea Bag agitators on several videos.
DeleteYeah, sure, they were just picking up the garbage left bu the leftwingnuts. You are really grasping at straws. Those little gray hairs have spooked?
DeleteKind of like this guy who fly's off the handle when asked a simple question. Much like Todd who has no idea what Communism is this guy lumps a guy who questions the logic of ending all government assisted health care into being a Communist. I don't remember seeing any OWS protester calling for the death to any capitalist, now I saw plenty wanting the end of capitalism as we know it today. I saw OWS protesters wanting to see capitalist being held accountable and convicted of crimes but I don't remember explicitly calling for the death of capitalists anywhere.
Deletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jbc064Uwax4
Oops, flies of the handle not Fly's.
DeleteBenE, you need to watch and read other sources. I think the riots in Oakland were OWS and many other incidents as well around the country. Tea Party makes you nervous eh? Those little gray haired ladies are such terrorists.
DeleteRegarding my understanding of communism. I think you, as usual, put words in others mouths and claim they are or believer something to make yourself feel better? I know and have lived my whole life under the threat of communism and we finally, (thank you Reagan) beat those commie bastards into oblivion. My friends from Russia who lived under the USSR know a whole lot more than you do BenE. You are just ignorant.
Wrong again Todd. He had little to do with it. It was evident everywhere in 1972 and if you read any history by Russian authors, and our own historians, even President Ford, you'd learn why Russian reverted, and the other countries broke free. You act like Gorbachev had no role in what happened.
DeleteEddie, you don't know anything about recent history it appears. What about "I know and have personal relationships with expatriate Russians" don't you understand. I guess they are all lying eh? Reagan drove the Russians into economic submission as they also did to themselves with Afghanistan. You really need to read and comprehend better about history.
DeleteYeah Todd...And we had relatives who lived in Russia when the revolution was beginning, and have relatives there now. You know what impressed the ones living there now when they visited here? The abundance of food and everything that ordinary citizens might want. It was mind boggling to them. But you know what was really funny? They didn't think we were doing things right in America.
DeleteI recall the famous Gorbachev visit where he was shown a your in a supermarket. He saw thirty brands of cheese or some-such. Upon leaving the supermarket ha made a comment that his country was not going to make it because America was so prosperous and had abundance. Eddie must have been in a cave or something. I think it was a well publicized visit.
DeleteDart Vader attacks, BenE, feel the force man.
ReplyDeleteTodd,
ReplyDeleteThe sad thing is you side with power while talking about liberty and freedom for the everyday person. Those who sit in power suppresses and oppresses the everyday person of liberty, freedom, and natural rights. I go to John Locke and you tend to side with Thomas Hobbes.
BenE, you arer a conspiracy nut.
DeleteTodd,
DeleteWhat conspiracy am I promoting in your eyes? That those with the most power are those who are not accountable to the people such as the Koch Bros, Soros, international banking institutions, transnational corporations, and WTO. None of those people/ organizations are voted into public office so the public has no authority to hold them accountable except through our government. The problem is our government has been bought off and controlled for the most part by those same entities, therefore don't hold their masters accountable. Hence the bailouts of the banks while those who have lost their homes through unjust foreclosures. The subprime loans didn't cause the financial melt down it was the derivatives those mortgages were slice up and inserted into that caused the collapse.
Todd,
ReplyDeleteYou're are absolutely ignorant about history and are a fool because you are part of those who cause the brutal history to repeat itself. Don't you find it suspicious at all that the Tea Party echo's the talking points of those who control our government and nothing happens at their rallies despite having guns and violent rhetoric? While at OWS protest where people are questioning the powers that be have their rights totally violated and are the targets for police harassment and brutality?
An perfect example of the abuse, which has been tried in a court of law and the police/ university lost. A small price to pay to tamp down democracy, $1 million settlement. The message was sent and we haven't seen those types of legal protests at Davis since. It is intimidation plain and simple but you side with the powers that be so you see this use of force as OK.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6AdDLhPwpp4
Yeah BenE, I am just a brutal power mad republican in cahoots with the secret rightwing society of masons. Sheesh! Are you for real? I think you need to take a deep breath and have some food. You are way out there.
DeleteBen knows quantims more about history than you todd. You are the worst kind of ignorant person.
DeleteEddie, I know more in my little finger than you and BenE together. You are just jealous of my besting you eac h tome you try to compete.
DeleteBen and Jen...The facts are that for most of my life I remember "liberal," and I use the word loosely, have stated that the U.S. Constitution (Bill of Rights) is worthless, but noted that they always use it to help themselves in and out of trouble. While researching the 2008 RNC demonstration ln the net I can't help wonder why it's always the Democrat left trying to silence the Republicans. Especially since our Congress has had a Democrat majority for most of my lifetime. Pretty obvious to anyone who pays attention. Todays Sac Bee reminds me of It reminds me of Sir Walter Scott's "Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive." Attack on consulate in Libya now called 'deliberate and organized.' http://www.sacbee.com/2012/09/29/4864834/attack-on-consulate-in-libya-now.html#storylink=cpy "In their initial accounts, Rice and other senior administration officials insisted there was no indication the attack was 'pre-planned.' It grew, they said, from a spontaneous protest outside the consulate that was inspired by the violent demonstration outside the U.S. Embassy in Cairo against a video denigrating the Prophet Muhammad, the founder of Islam." The video, alleged to have triggered a rash of violent anti-American protests, was made in the United States. However, then "President Mohammad Magarief, the head of the Libyan National Congress said the assault was organized and planned by foreigners, some with links to al-Qaida, involved members of a local Islamist militant group, and was deliberately timed for the anniversary of 9/11."
ReplyDeleteDo you suppose that those who eagerly destroy and shed blood make an excuse for installing a police state to keep the peace? I noticed that the first Wall Street demonstrators couldn't answer why they were there...merely following others. Then they were upset because their leaders were getting , but not sharing money to demonstate, by keeping it "safe in the bank." A blankety-blank bank mind you! Reminded me of the Watts riot, and aftermath when the rioters were dismayed that they'd burned down the place where they cashed their welfare checks. After reading this don't forget that when it comes to human nature "laughter is great medicine!"
Bonnie, this is a non issue. Chaos reigned, people want information, reports are made, etc., Ever hear of Clauswitz's "Fog of War,"; things aren't clear in battles and often the truth is never determined.
DeleteBut Toddie boy and all the right wing bloggers in this area wouldn't know what ground combat is.
Eddie, you are too much. You are just ignorant about real life.
DeleteAre you kidding me Ed? We get a Vet magazine and they feel betrayed. I guess they didn't enjoy being spit on and insulted when they came home. One special forces acquaintance quit when Clinton was elected because he said he didn't want to have to watch his back too. Do you remember our military voter ballots abandoned on the dock during the Gore Bush election debacle? Was their vote ever counted? It goes on and on. Don't send these brave young men to fight wars in other places unless you're going to back them up. Sorry, but what's been going on is obscene!
DeleteHow true Bonnie. Obama and his pals are trying to suppress the military vote. I guess Eddie doesn't care about his fellow solders?
DeleteI'd call those banks who nearly destroyed the world economy in 2008 much worse than "blankety blank." Criminal acts. Billions and billions of dollars in civil fines. Apparently you think the few bad apples of the OWS movement were worse than the big banks and the trillion dollars in damage they wrought on the world. I don't. It does seem you're quite scared of shaking up the status quo of power and greed that nearly caused another great depression. I like dissent, protest and fighting for civil rights and against corrupt institutions of power. Its quite American to fight the good fight.
ReplyDeleteJen do you suppose those banks nearly destroyed the world economy all by themselves? Criminal acts? Who do you suppose had the power to do something entirely different than what was done? Who is in charge of what happens in this country? The leaders and the people who put them in charge! In America it is the Congress majority who pretty much are in charge of spending and borrowing. Who is responsible for our personal debt and not being able to repay our debt to all those who invested their savings in the banks? Personal choices. However, I think there was a political decision to allow people who couldn't afford new homes to borrow from the banks for new homes etc. Didn't I hear Barney Frank (and party)say there was nothing wrong with the banking system when others wanted it more regulated to protect banks and people's savings? Jen, have you ever noticed how many elected Congressional members were paupers when they started, and wound up milionairs? Super Ponzi schemes...that leave our local ones in the dust. Jen, when you talk about greed and it being American to fight the good fight... pay attention to what advocates do, not what they say. We're being fed racism, class envy and hatred just like those governments we considered bad, and went into endless wars against...beginning with the Federal Reserve Act and WWI that proved the Federal Reserve was a great tool to finance wars...and a global government of debt.
DeleteThe majority of the people in this country understand that Wall Street and the giant banks were the major culprit of our near great depression. Thats the bottom line. Not your capitalism-can-do-no wrong opinion. Romney and his uber-wealthy,unapologistic Wall Street persona is the absolute WORST type of candidate the Repubs could run in 2012. And thats why they are tanking in the polls, day by day, tracking ltower and lower. The Senate is gone for the GOP, the House is now in play. And Obama is building a bigger lead, day after day. Capitalism and business above human beings is being utterly rejected by the majority of our nation. People over Corporations is what is winning in 2012!
DeleteSo Jen, since your boy got more Wall Street money than our boy tell us what that means.
DeleteThats an absolutely false statement. Besides, what I posted cannot be refuted in any shape or form. How about admitting you boys nominated a bumbling personfication of everything bad that happened to this nation over the last 3 decades? Kind of a bad candidate. Worse than bad. DISASTROUS! But not complaining :))...
DeleteIt means the leadership of both parties have been corrupted by legal bribery.
Delete1)Instant Run Off Voting
2)Progressive spending caps for public office
3)Publicly financed elections
4)Amending Constitution to say "Corporations are not natural persons, and money does not equal free speech"
5)Close the revolving door between public and private sectors (Lobbyist) for 5 years to end the capturing of our government.
Jen, please review the Wall Street donations from 2008. You will see you are wrong and I am right. Tata.
DeleteBonnie,
ReplyDeleteYou truly need to branch away from FOX and right wing radio to shape your opinions. Protests have nothing to do with silencing a particular group but rather bringing a voice to an issue that has been silenced. Prior to the OWS protests the entire conversation was on austerity and balanced budgets. After the OWS the discussion turned to who has benefited most while the rest of us struggle? Big money has plenty of representation in our government but the average person has very little. Those in the OWS had a hard time articulating their cause because their cause is so gigantic and complex it is not understood by a vast majority of people in the US. Much like the Tea Party rallies and those who are in or running for public office as a TP candidate talking about things in the US Constitution that do not exist or were the Declaration of Independence. The most famous one was Keep Your Government Hands Off My Medicare, which is a government senior health care program.
Now to the democratic party majority most of your lifetime until the last 30 years or so, what has happened to our economy and government in that 30 to 40 years? When the Reagan Revolution (Conservative Revolution) happened in our government we have seen regulations expand (#1 promoter of regulations is big business), size and scope of federal government explode, incentives to move jobs out of the US, and our civil liberties get stripped.
Here is a graph with GDP/ National Debt from 1940 - 2005. If the graph went through to 2012 it would be almost a 90' angle.
http://z.about.com/d/uspolitics/1/0/m/G/096.png
BenE, you are certainly a condescending bastard aren't you. Bonnie is a very smart woman and has been on the planet longer than you. She has been in business most of the time. She is well respected in the countyas well. When you grow up and get some experience then you can be a smart ass to our treasured seniors I guess. But show some respect for a good and great American woman. I know you probably hang with the hippie girls who have zip class and manners so I'll give you a small break this time.
DeleteTodd,
DeleteDon't tell me how to communicate with others.
I will certainly hold your feet tot the fire when you are out of line. Damn straight!
DeleteTodd,
DeleteWhat was out of line to "hold" my feet to the fire?
You make personal attacks on Bonnie and then forget you did it? Amazing
DeleteDefine a personal attack?
DeleteBen stated facts, no attacks. Todd any disagreement with what you decree is the truth you use for the personal attack, as you do to me and all the superior intellects that bother to comment here.
DeleteI have always been respectful when posting to Bonnie; that doesn't mean what she says is factual and can not be corrected.
Oh Eddie, just shut up. Sheesh!
DeleteTodd,
DeleteI don't know if you realize that Ed is a veteran and is older than you. You are breaking the standard you held me too, time to hold your feet to fire I guess.
Much like I respect and have confidence in Bonnie's ability to handle herself from the young whippersnapper who has been earning a paycheck for 30 years and has lived an adventurous life studying politics the entire way. I have confidence that Ed can handle himself from a senior citizen who conducts himself like an adolescent online.
If Ed is going to be treated like that, Bonnie would seem to be fair game as well. But Todd will never be 1% the man that Ed has been in his life, and by his attacks, its clear he knows it and hates being pwned on his own blog.
DeleteEddie comes here and insults me so sure, he is going to get a return. Bonnie insults no one but BenE belittles her and deserves what he gets. Jen comes here with bad information and insults people and institutions we like so yep, she (if it is a she) will receive fair game treatment too.
DeleteBen your problem is that you don't go to the source, instead of believing what others say about them. The Tea Party supports the laws of our Constitution and Bill of Rights...the very laws everybody runs to when you think you're being abused. People who have never read the Bible hate Christians because there are a few hypocrites who give God a bad name. Go to the source! Because human nature is hypocritical. As for history...it does repeat. Different window dressings, but there's nothing new under the sun. Historians have often compared the U.S. to the Roman Republic (empire government). In the first century B.C., Cicero warned: "The budget should be balanced, public debt should be reduced and the treasury should be rebuilt . . . lest Rome fall." A century later the fiddling while Rome burns Emperor Nero declared, "Let us tax and tax again ... and see to it that no one retains wealth." Within two generations many Roman cities became insolvent, prompting Emperor Hadrian to adopt bailouts through centralized revenue sharing. Eventually, excessive spending and soaring debt forced Rome to inflate the national currency by replacing silver in coinage with base metals. And don't forget that Rome had it's army everywhere to establish it's global empire. Pretty expensive. During the latter years Claudius was elected tribune by bribing the electorate with free grain at taxpayers expense. The collapse of Rome was from within when the citizens voted themselves benefits without working. La dee da....
ReplyDeleteBonnie,
DeleteFor the record I have been an advocate for constitutional rights and activist for over 20 years. Let me ask you since we are talking about the Bill of Rights, do you support the American Civil Liberties Union? http://www.aclu.org/key-issues
I have studied the US Constitution (USC), the framers and the origins of the ideas behind USC, and struggles to write the document along with it being ratified. I have read the Federalist Papers and Notes of Debates in the Federal Convention of 1787 by James Madison. I go to the sources and have done so my entire adult life.
So let us all get this straight BenE. You are for the Constitution but oppose the Tea Party which is for the Constitution.
DeleteTodd,
DeleteThe Tea Party are told they are for the Constitution but a vast majority of those people in the streets with the TP have never read the Constitution or the history of the document. They are told by the billionaire astro turf version of what the Constitution stands for and then go out and repeat the talking points. Lower taxes for the wealthy will create jobs, no regulations on big business, free trade agreements that only benefit transnational corporations, ect... All of these policies help the very few at the top and screw the rest of us.
Ask TP in the streets to name the three branches of government, can't do it. Ask them who elects the President, they can't do it. Ask them are taxes unconstitutional and they will say yes. Ask them to differentiate between the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution and they will not be able. Ask them how free trade vs selective import tariffs work, they will give you a blank look. Ask them if they know what year women were able to vote in a federal election legally and they will not be able to do so. Not because they are stupid but because they have been inactive in our democratic policies for so long they do now understand how it works.
I say it all the time, I like the fact the TP are organizing and being active in our government. I disagree with their ideas and solutions.
BenE.you are just totally delusional about the Tea Party. No debate is possible.
DeleteTodd,
DeleteIn 2010 when the Tea Party was hotter than a two-dollar pistol I traveled our congressional district and talked with Tea Party members everywhere we went. My opinion is right on the money because it is based on direct conversations. My favorite was people claiming the bible is directly mentioned in the Constitution and that Jefferson put it in because he wrote it.
I informed them that believing Jefferson wrote the US Constitution is a common mistake. He was one of many who contributed but it was James Madison who was in charge writing and shaping the US Constitution. I then proceed to tell them the story about the engraved quote on Jefferson memorial from his letter to Benjamin Rush-
"for I have sworn upon the altar of god, eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of man."
Many would say that it proves that he was Christian. Jefferson was Deist. Here is the context of that letter
Thomas Jefferson to Benjamin Rush
Monticello, September 23, 1800
Excerpt on Christianity
"I promised you a letter on Christianity, which I have not
forgotten. On the contrary, it is because I have reflected on it,
that I find much more time necessary for it than I can at present
dispose of. I have a view of the subject which ought to displease
neither the rational Christian nor Deists, and would reconcile many
to a character they have too hastily rejected. I do not know that it
would reconcile the _genus irritabile vatum_ who are all in arms
against me. Their hostility is on too interesting ground to be
softened. The delusion into which the X. Y. Z. plot shewed it
possible to push the people; the successful experiment made under the
prevalence of that delusion on the clause of the constitution, which,
while it secured the freedom of the press, covered also the freedom
of religion, had given to the clergy a very favorite hope of
obtaining an establishment of a particular form of Christianity thro'
the U. S.; and as every sect believes its own form the true one,
every one perhaps hoped for his own, but especially the Episcopalians
& Congregationalists. The returning good sense of our country
threatens abortion to their hopes, & they believe that any portion of
power confided to me, will be exerted in opposition to their schemes.
And they believe rightly; for I have sworn upon the altar of god,
eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of man.
But this is all they have to fear from me: & enough too in their
opinion, & this is the cause of their printing lying pamphlets
against me, forging conversations for me with Mazzei, Bishop Madison,
&c., which are absolute falsehoods without a circumstance of truth to
rest on; falsehoods, too, of which I acquit Mazzei & Bishop Madison,
for they are men of truth."
Well hey BenE. Based on your opinions of the Tea Party (gained from talking to a coule of them) then I guess when I have talked to liberal democrats/DTS who want to overthrow the Constitution I deduce all of them want to do the same. You need to rethink things a bit more before making such broad ludicrous statements.
DeleteYour lack of knowledge is frightening. Tea people brew trouble, not insight or wisdom, much less understanding of the Constitution.
DeleteYeah Eddie, those little gray haired ladies scare you "real" men. Amazing!
DeleteOh...and Ben I never watch FOX news. That's something else you assume. I watch 13 sometimes, but read the Union and listen to KNCO occasionally. Once in awhile I listen to Rush Limbaugh for his take on the news, and to get a few laughs. It's nice to have another viewpoint, and I prefer to go to the source rather than follow the pack's perverted opinion of what he says. Can you imagine signing a petition to take him off the air because he said something you didn't like. Wow! That's going too far when you compare it with what some others say on the media. No Ben...I prefer not to run with the groupies who love to persecute those not kissy with the group. Don't you remember that mentality in high school?
ReplyDeleteBonnie,
DeleteThat is good to hear. All corporate media is propaganda and FOX is the worst of the bunch.
On the Rush issue, The Rush Limbaugh Show runs on the public airwaves because we allow him the privilege to do so. When he spews misogynistic lies and misinforms the public he deserves to get his public privilege to use our airwaves pulled. He can have his opinions all he wants and if he wants to go to the corner and spread his lies he is more than welcome to do so. This is where the propaganda of it is attacking his first amendment rights is bs, nobody says he can't say those things he shouldn't be able to do so over public airwaves on a daily basis where the public good is part of the contract. As you can hear, the plea to KNCO to remove him off the air didn't work, he is still there spewing his lies with bigotry, misogyny, and corporatist views.
FOX is the best. They are "fair and balanced". Amy Goodman is the propagandist.
DeleteFOX is a joke.
DeleteFOX is the largest fair network. Get your head out of the sand. You are simply biased.
Delete"A study conducted by Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, New Jersey, found that the average American was able to correctly answer 1.8 out of four questions on international news and 1.6 out of five on domestic.
DeleteFox News followers however only answered 1.04 domestic questions correctly, which is worse than those who said they watched no media at all – which stood at 1.22.
The study, which surveyed 1,185 people, found that in comparison, those who listened to National Public Radio fared best, answering 1.51 questions correctly, while those watching The Daily Show, which mixes current affairs with humour, scored 1.42.
"These differences may be small, but even small differences are important when we're talking about millions of people," said Dan Cassino, political scientist and poll analyst. "We expect that watching the news should help people learn, but the most popular of the national media sources – Fox, CNN, MSNBC – seem to be the least informative."
Grasping at straws.
DeleteBonnie,
ReplyDeleteDo you realize the Bill of Rights is a liberal idea that was aggressively opposed by the conservatives (federalists) of the day? Limiting power of the people from those who sit in positions of power, that was crazy talk. Jefferson, Madison, Paine, and Franklin were all adamant about there must be a Bill of Rights.
I know plenty of Tea Party members and have had long discussions with them about the Constitution and the founding of our country. Unfortunately much like George Rebane they have been led to believe that there was no debate on the Constitution and that it is a libertarian document. Neither are true, the US Constitution for its time period was the most radical progressive official document every ratified. There were huge debates and concessions made both both ideologies. The global view of the US Constitution and the new republic were it would last 50 years. The Civil War almost made it break up within 75 years but the Union prevailed.
And you believe Jesus is a liberal too, right? You people crack me up. Was Hammurabi a lib or a conservative BenE?
DeleteJesus was a liberal. I don't know about Hammurabi so I have no idea.
DeleteJust as I thought.
DeleteTodd, you obviously haven't read much of the Bible. Jesus is a liberal. There is a clear rejection of the attainment of wealth over the welfare of people. That is the central tenet of the Bible. The needs of the poor and less fortunate in a society is paramount. Not the wants of the "job creators" (LOL). Wealth is evil in the Bible. Try reading it.
DeleteAnd you fundamentalists are the believers in Inquisition type behavior and forcing all to your norms.
DeleteJesus was not political and to try and tell us that liberals care about the poor and others don't is totally bogus. I refer recently to Joe Biden donating what $297 to the poor and Romney donating 7 million? Sorry but you libs are scrooges with your own money and just call using other peoples money to make yourselves feel good as some sort of honor. Besides, wasn't Mao., a liberal and he murdered 50 million of his own plus a lot of Americans in Korea.
DeleteEddie, you are just too much. Apparently you have people in your head telling you things and then that stuff pops out into the real world. The Inquisition? I am not a Catholic for one thing and the other is the Big I offed about 100 people overall. Heck, you liberals starved more peasants in a minute than that. Maybe you should get some religion Eddie. Your bitterness is overwhelming.
DeleteTodd,
DeleteYou don't understand much of anything because you are an intellectually lazy person.
Bonnie,
ReplyDeleteLimiting the powers over the citizens from those who sit in positions of power, that was crazy talk. We have a Limited Constitutional Democratic Republic form of government. Well we are supposed to have it but increasingly we are creating an oligarchy that shreds our constitutional rights.
One of the major reasons Rome fell was due to the fact they depleted their main energy source (wood)to where they had to expand the empire. Once military empire is the key to sustaining power resources are progressively taken from the citizens to fund the military. The further they get away from home the more expensive it becomes. It is a house of cards. The US over the last 80 years has become a military empire securing strategic resources by coups and covertly backing US friendly revolutions in the guise of democracy. Today we have roughly 900 military bases in 140 different nations and the US spends 51% of the entire worlds defense spending at over a trillion annually. US defense spending has tripled since 1997 and Obama signed into law the largest defense budget in history.
Oh my Ben...names mean nothing, but substance does. What it's made of. That's because of those who believe the end justifys the means. Lie, cheat, change names...whatever it takes to win. Yes! The Bill of Rights is liberal, and so are the teachings of Jesus Christ, but now the haters of both call themselves liberals, like wolves in sheeps clothing. Beware and go figure! So...always look at what they do not what they say. Today's liberals are taking us back to a police state with unaffordable laws against everything. And it cost a fortune to enforce our slavery.
ReplyDeleteBonnie,
DeleteLet me sincerely ask you something.
Who do you think has more influence in our government the poor or the wealthy?
All history shows money talks. The poorest were slaves and what nice buildings they constructed.
DeleteEd,
DeleteDifferent world views and I am trying to establish which one fits. You and I understand it is the workers who actually built the skyline of world. And we understand that money owns our government to rig the system to secure their profits over the interests of people.
That's a tough one Ben. Our government uses the poor to get wealthy.
ReplyDeleteBonnie,
ReplyDeleteFirst, the government is supposed to be us. Citizens own the government.
Does the poor or wealthy have more influence?
I can hardly control a chuckle. Notice all those expensive political election ads using the poor, the elderly, the children, and the sick to get votes. Historian Alexander Tyler wrote, "A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policly, which is always followed by a dictatorship....The average age of the worlds greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 300 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence: From spiritual faith to great courage, from courage to liberty, from liberty to abundance, from abundance to complacency, from complacency to apathy, from apathy to dependence, and from dependence back into bondage."
DeleteSo politicians make sure they get re-elected by appealing to the the voters so that they stay in power and in charge to wheel and deal at the top of the compost pile.
So true Bonnie. I have never been employed bu a poor person. I was poor and worked my butt off to get ahead and BenE and Jen want to make fun of people who actually work. But a democracy, one person one vote, is how they acjive the reverse outcome of American success. Obama redistribution.
DeleteTodd, you have no clue about my career. None. Its been an incredible ride of which you could not conceive.
DeleteSo you are on the dole then Jen?
Deletehardly :). Started in Silicon Valley 1988. You tell me...
DeleteBut why do continue to post falsehoods like I make fun of people who "actually work"?
Ben, we know corps own the government. BTW, I took my Samurai sword and beheaded a corporation today, but I haven't been charged with murder. I thought corporations were people.
ReplyDeleteOnly to men like Scalia who puts politcs and his religion above the U.S. Constitution.
BenE, Eddie is your violent man. He talks of be headings, I talk of love. What do you talk of BenE?
DeleteTodd,
DeleteOnce again showing the foolishness of your position comes to light. I can only assume you are referring to my claim that OWS didn't call for the death of people. No corporation in the history of the US was a human being nor can ever become a human being. The idea that legal entities are persons/ human beings is a ludicrous idea that will be looked at by future generations as insane and an embarrassing time for the human race.
Corporations
"They have no soul to save, and they have no body to incarcerate."
Baron Thurlow
That darn corporate monster of violence, Campbell Soup, yep BenE, they are out to get you.
DeleteNow Todd, I can't always correct all the ignorance you spread, I have better things to do.
ReplyDeleteYou reap what you sow--mean, ugly answers, for a guy too scared to go to Nam.
I think you need to get outside and do some labor Eddie. Stop being a wimp.
DeleteAh ha ha. Apparently,Romney and Todd have something in common- avoiding military service!! NICE!!
DeleteNever avoided the service Jen. How about you?
DeleteI'm not an old geezer like you. You who were right in the crosshairs of the draft. Things in my era were moving along nicely until W declared war against a country who did no harm to us.
DeleteSo Jen, you did not volunteer? What have you done to serve the country?
DeleteTodd,
ReplyDeleteI know you like taking these types of quizzes. When you look at the breakdown it shows those who follow the most stringent religions are the ones who do the worst on the quiz. That is my opinion not Christian Science Monitor. I am spiritual not religious and have studied world religions at a very basic level. But I have known many in my lifetime that belong to all the major religions of the world and have discussed their personal faith in depth.
I got 91%, 29/32. I will give you one off the bat, Nirvana is the ultimate goal of Hinduism but the quiz only accepts Buddhism.
http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/2011/0105/Are-you-smarter-than-an-atheist-A-religious-quiz/When-does-the-Jewish-Sabbath-begin
Ben...That's interesting that you studied world religions, and are spiritual..not religious. I spent most of my life studying religions, their spiritual origins, ancient civilizations and sharing spiritual experiences with others...but don't feel I have much in common with the psychology you espouse on the blogs. Law of the Prophets...What goes around comes around. What you sow is what you reap. Karma. Cause and effect.
DeleteBenE, aren't you a pagan secular atheist? Didn't you tell us that? So why would I care what you think about religion since you are a non believer? What cracks me up about you and your atheist ilk is you try and make some kind of moral equivalency with present day Christians and other religions like Islam. Sure, there is a rogue man who takes out a abortion doctor about every 25 years but that is just a nutty guy who none of us Christians condone. But you will defend the Islamist who murders tens of thousands of their own people and use little kids as walking bombs. Can you see how looney you and your ilk look man?
DeleteAll the Christians of ardent belief that I know are peaceful and by golly, they want you to see the light and become a believer. Through gentle persuasion methods. So perhaps you should attend some Bible studies with some of those wascally Christians and see for yourself they are kind, gentle folks who do not practice violence. My guess is you would be so confused by them and their kindness that you would last maybe one Bible study.
Christians don't practice or condone violence. According to the bible, thats supposed to be the case. So, that totally proves my point about America not being a Christian nation.
DeleteMethinks you need reading and logic lessons.
DeleteWe're a violent society. ie, not at all like the Christian ideal in the New Testament. You get it now, or do I need to elaborate further?
Deletebtw, what university or college did you attend, Todd?
So which church do you attend Jen? You sure are an angry person. Someone in your life is upsetting you?
DeleteTodd, I do have to smile at the marble game we've enjoyed here. Amazing and interesting. Thank you for your goodness, patience and providing the forum.
ReplyDeleteThanks to you for being part of the game Bonnie.
DeleteTodd and Bonnie,
ReplyDeleteI find the both of you to have very narrow views of most subjects put forward on our local blogs. Therefore I will be finished trying to have dialogue with those who do not have the capacity to digest information and change an opinion as the facts/ data expands our understanding of the world from which we live.
Last facts about 2012 election cycle.
Romney and the Republican Party should be routed this November but with electronic voting and suppressive voting id laws they might be able to steal the majorities in our congress and less likely the Presidency but it is possible. As a citizen of the United States of America, no matter if Obama or Romney are elected to President our nation will be owned by big business and extremely wealthy business women/men.
http://www.opensecrets.org/overview/topcontribs.php
No Todd this is not a symbol of defeat but rather a acceptance of futility.
BenE, you are the narrow minded person. You are stuck in a anti American pro socialist mantra which you take all over the local blogs. At least we on the right have open minds. Besides you come across as a cut and paste robot.
DeleteBen,
ReplyDeleteDon't know if you saw it..the most single bizarre statement I've ever read on here- yesterday afternoon Todd accused me above of "insulting institutions we like" and therefore I was fair game for personal attack.
Those poor institutions - with no one to defend them butt poor old Todd and Bonnie- my heart breaks in two..) Corporations are people, my friend...
The election cannot some soon enough! Our long national Romney nightmare will soon be over. With a strong progressive showing, I think Obama will be much more focused on issues we care about in term II.
Well I guess when you lovelies on the left trash Christianity, free enterprise and the Constitution all the time you might get stuck with a cloak of anti American slime. Try and support what makes our country great sometimes an top trying to destroy it. Then maybe you will be viewed as more than the lefty extremists you are. I appreciate yu two ad sacks posting here though so Americans of good will can see what the left is all about.
DeleteCorrupt "free enterprise", and corrupt religion. Yes, speaking for myself, I am very, very happy to trash.
DeleteHey, did you see the multiple investigations and charges today against Bear Stearn/Morgan Stanley and JP Morgan? FINALLY, the Feds and state prosecutors in NY are moving on the crimes and frauds committed! Better late than never. :)
I too suupport the prosecution of them if they are crooks. What is interesting here though is they were left alone until they decided to bail on Obama and go over the the other side.
DeleteJen,
ReplyDeleteIn those like Todd's world Goldman Sachs is person with feelings. Sure Goldman Sachs has been in every banking crisis since its inception 100 plus years ago but hey, I know plenty of people who have no mouths, hearts, age limits, can't be incarcerated, can have multiple legal partners, can own other people just like them, unlimited international citizenships, and the whole time get the costs of doing business as a tax write off. I hope you are correct about an Obama second term because I cannot tell you how disappointed with his first term I am.
BenE, where do you keep your meoney? Do you have a savings account or a 401K? If you do you are supporting the very people you say you hate. Or, you could just be a pauper living day to day and living the dream of ypur beliefs.
DeleteBen, I really believe that. And to me, the most exciting proclamation of the last several months was when Pelosi announced it would ALL-IN on legislation to restrict unlimited money donations, to effectively blunt Citizens United IF Dems regain the House (small but improving chance), and hold the Senate (that will happen). Between that and an expedited withdrawal from Afghanistan, closing GITMO, and putting people first for once...I really believe there is HOPE again. :)
ReplyDeleteCitizens United? You people crack me up. Your pals have the most money and you want to shut down the competition. How soviet of you two.
DeleteOh yeah, I have a hammer and sickle as my screensaver.:) How about you Ben?
DeleteTodd, your comments are boring and not at all clever.
Jen, you come across like a commie honey, I would suggest a free enterprise immersion therapy. You are the boring one honey.
DeleteI will keep my fingers crossed at the same time will be pushing Obama and the Democratic majorities to return to the party of the people and leave the third way behind. The Republican Party has been in bed with big business since the 1880's and are a lost cause but hopefully the Libertarian party can get some traction on the war machine, banking, and stripping of our civil liberties.
ReplyDeleteBenE, you have that lefty mantra of the democrats down real good. Let me see. Obama in 2008 raised 900 million and McCain 400 million. Yep, those out of control Republicans are just so bad. Man are you peoiple in the tank for lies.
DeleteIts 2012, not 2008. Who talks about 2008? Not relevant.
DeleteWall Street and its billionaires are going to face the tax and regulatory piper if President Obama wins. Finally, some fairness will prevail.
You should read what you write before you hit the enter button. Totally ridiculous. Sort of like, well he stole money last year but that is no indicator he will steal some this yrear. Amazing.
DeleteTodd, I first posted here because of the horrendous distortion of fact you spread. The name calling is your specialty. BTW, you think you're the only one who knows people who lived under the Soviet system.
ReplyDeleteMy disabilities our service-connected, coming from my time in Nam. But you call me a wimp. Your ignorance is dangerous; you'd be in the S.A if born in Germany during the 30's; a coward who only roams in packs, no brains, a Jew hater. And Mr. Stupid who never understands subtlety,, nuance or irony, one need not be Catholic to have an Inquisition mentality.
It is totally pointless talking to morons like you. You think your tough, but you are a nothing. Not worth my energy as I had young students who knew much more than you. You were invited to come to my house a long time ago, to debate. Instead, you insult safe at home. With wimps like you we never would have made this country. I'm not 6'4" but I'd run you into the ground, because you don't have what it takes to be man, much less a combat Marine. I'd have you crying in a very short time.
Like the lady said in The Heat of the Night,--paraphrasing-- "I will now leave you and your fascists friends to yourselves", because you are truly an ignorant person. But her meaning probably escapes your limited intellect.
And I bet you don't even know who Umberto Eco is. You should read The Name of the Rose, it might help you to justify using the air you breath.
So, continue to make fun of the wounded returning from the wars, that is what your kind of Christianity is all about. American Taliban.
You're no dragon, just a slimy little tadpole, with mental comprehension on a Dick and Jane level.
EddieP, you certainly are a creative namecaller. I have honored your service but it now appears you are the local version of John Kerry. You hate your own country and appear to be what you claim others are. You have turned into a fascist. Dissent is not in your repertoire. Plus you are a violent person who wants to beat others. Tea Party little ld ladies better watch out. Eddie will punch you in the face. Anger management may be in order EddieP.
DeleteEd and Jen,
ReplyDeleteWe all know that Todd is a blowhard online and it has to be an act. Nobody can be this clueless about the world, people, or politics in real life. You're right about being a waste of time but it is good to exercise the noggin.
BenE, I know more about the world than you think. You are simply ignorant of others. The hubris you show in your posts gives us all a inside look at a true liberal. Thanks.
DeleteHere is piece from the best US Senator, Bernie Sanders.
ReplyDelete"Yes. We must address the very serious problem of a $16 trillion national debt and a $1 trillion federal deficit.
But at this pivotal moment in American history, it’s essential that we understand how we got into this deficit crisis in the first place and who was responsible for it. More important, we must address the deficit in a way that is fair and does not balance the budget on the backs of the elderly, the children, the sick and the poor — people who are already hurting."

BenE, your opinion that the socialist, self proclaimed, Bernie Sanders is all anyone who doubts your socialist political ideologist needs to know. Thanks for your socialist honesty.
DeleteTodd,
DeleteYou can call what ever you want but it means little. You claim many things as communism but have no understanding what that actually means. Since you refuse to give your definition of Communism I will start it off for you.
There is no such thing as private property, the state owns everything. Now take your limited critical thinking skills and start from there what Communism means.
BenE, you have a limited education about real life and our country. Bernie Sanders is your hero as are his policies and opinions. Berni Sanders is a self proclaimed socialist. Do the math. So when you smarten up, we can have a debate, until then, leep learning.
DeleteOne thing I have learnes about your ilk in my life is you cannot be trusted to drive the car.
Yes Ben, Bernie is right on. And educated people--university trained, curious, open minded, perceptive thinkers who can also navigate the hard knocks and rough and tumble of the moment, the kind that dared travel here and still dare to seek new knowledge and adventure. Others, like in the 13th century, never traveled far from home, learned nothing innovative; just worshiped imaginary idols, contributing nothing but intolerance.
ReplyDeleteThanks EddieP, you have also confirmed you are socialist like Bernie Sanders. You arte truly the John Kerry of Nevada County. Where are the Swiftboat veterans when we need them?
DeleteThe fact is that Bernie Sanders is an American Hero. Much like Elizabeth Warren and Sherrod Brown. These 3 will be the new Lions of the Senate in 2013, fighting corrupt influences of money and power. True progressives and American patriots.
ReplyDeleteThe progressives are American traitors. But thanks for telling us all who you look up to and emulate.
DeleteRight On Jen. Over at George Rebanes as usual they are going on about a non issue to try and steer away from the fact Warren is an amazing candidate and would much better represent MA than Brown. The extreme right like to throw around that Sanders is a self proclaimed Democratic Socialist but usually leave off the Democratic part, which they have little understanding of what it means. I think in the last decade the top 10 happiest places to live on the planet have been dominated by what would be considered Democratic "Socialist" Nations on our local hard right blogs. What do 9/10 have in common, National Health Care System and the 1 that doesn't has made for profit health insurance illegal.
ReplyDelete1) Denmark
2) Norway
3) Netherlands
4) Switzerland
5) Austria
6) Israel
7) Finland
8) Australia
9) Canada
10) Sweden
Warren is a commie hiding in a socialist skin. I saw the debate last night and she is out of her league. But Massachusetts is 87% democrat so she has a good chance of taking her commie ideology to the Senate and sit at Bernie's left hand.
DeleteI find Todd's irrational fear of "commies" quite striking. Sounds like we live in a time of Soviet bases in Cuba or something. Clearly a massive generational factor at work here that many paranoid right wingers cannot process. Anyone under age 45 or so understands these type of terms are insanely silly, irrational and reactionary. Our world has a multitude of problems, but a group of these shadowy "commies" running for US office isn't one of them. Maybe I'll be a "commie" for Halloween and go trick-or-treating...oooh...LOL! Sounds fun.
ReplyDeleteJen,
ReplyDeleteThat is what I am talking about with Todd's absolute ignorance of Communism. Does that mean you are going to dress up like Nixon by Todd's standards. He started the agency that turned into Dept of Energy, EPA, Clean Air Act, spent more on social programs than defense, 74% top marginal tax rate, 25% unionized workforce, selective import tariffs, and was the first to propose Obamacare to the nation.
I think yu two are truly ignorant of the real world. But keep posting, this is a hoot!
DeleteCool, do they still sell Tricky Dick masks like they did when I was a kid? :) Scarier yet would be a Paul Ryan or Mitt Romney outfit. THAT is scary!
ReplyDeleteBest opening statement Obama can make tomorrow night is to take a few minutes to thank Mitt Romney in his term as MA governor, the Republican Party as a whole, plus the conservative think tanks and such, that either proposed or implemented the vital and key elements of Obamacare- over a decade before the President finally got something passed in the Congress! He should be gracious and give credit where it is due- a national healthcare system through the private sector! Not exactly what I wanted to see, but something which appears almost exactly like the Republican model of the late 90s/early 2000s.
Hey Todd, what exactly is your view of the "real world" Commie threat? Come on, spit it out for Ben and me. We're always open to learning new things. Don't be shy...are the Commies allied with and funding Al Qaeda cells in North Korea and Islamic Iran? Who is the leader of these Commies? Do we need more aircraft carriers built to counter the tremendous Commie threat? Is Sean Penn involved- maybe Alec Baldwin- in funding these terrorist alliances? ...lol...its fun with the paranoid time :)
ReplyDeleteYou first. Three long paragraphs.
DeleteJen,
ReplyDeleteWhat a surprise Todd redirects it back at you. Todd I gave you a big chunk already, lets see your three paragraphs. Aren't you a property rights advocate? Todd I am helping you out here big guy. A quote from the Communist Manifesto that outlines the absolute take over of property of the Capitalist or Bourgeoisie, those who make money with money or exploitation of other peoples labor. I don't know a single person who identifies as left in the US that believes these ideals. I know you believe that a tax on wealth/ property/ exploitation is equivalent to Communism but it doesn't even register on the radar screen of being the same. This is why your statements are so ignorant and off base.
Before your normal adolescent retort here is the definition of absolute
Absolute- Not qualified or diminished in any way; total: "absolute secrecy".
"The distinguishing feature of Communism is not the abolition of property generally, but the abolition of bourgeois property. But modern bourgeois private property is the final and most complete expression of the system of producing and appropriating products, that is based on class antagonisms, on the exploitation of the many by the few.
In this sense, the theory of the Communists may be summed up in the single sentence: Abolition of private property."
BenE you doth protest too much. You fit the bill of a commie as does Jen. You want the government to redistribute. So, bloviate all you want but that is what you believe.
DeleteTodd,
ReplyDeleteStill won't tell us what Communism means to you, what a joke.
