Ben Emery Overrates Himself as do his buddies

There are some people on this planet that think they are the cats meow and they have no problems telling us all (and expecting us to listen intently).  In Nevada County we have some too, mostly liberals, and when the chips are down and they are losing the argument they inundate us all with links, links, links.  Ben Emery, the Green party candidate in the last election is one of them.

I have never met the fellow but I have found he is your typical self important liberal and along with Truckee resident Steve Frisch and local blogger Jeff Pelline, they make up the blowhard trio of immense self back patters (there are more but they are the second tier blowhards mostly on leftwingnut blogs).  Having run for political office and been elected twice and defeated twice (Assembly Republican Primary  and Assessor) I have come to understand when it is time to rest, like an aging football player, the time to retire from running for office. So  I realized that and retired from the task of seeking public office after I lost the race for Assessor in 1998.  Subsequently, the winner, left office after a pretty nasty review of inter-office shenanigans bordering on some say, criminality. But I digress.  Anyway during the primary of 1998 I came in second with a county wide vote total of 6,973.  In November received  14,796 votes.  The reason I bring this up is Ben Emery and his buddies on the liberal left (and Emery is a Green so you know he is way out there) keep trying to convince themselves my service was somehow unbelievable, well, they can't believe the people voted me in because they say I am too extreme among other things.

This exercise in numbers and the level of support shown me as opposed to Ben Emery makes me chuckle.  He and his ilk are doing the "puffer fish" routine all the time.  They claim some support, mostly appearing as though they have a lot.  Well, sorry Ben Emery, your support is minuscule and your voter support is clear evidence you are the extremist, not I, not Russ Steele or George Rebane.  Your vote totals for November 2010 were, in Nevada County, 5,365 and for the full Congressional District 22,179, and 7.2%.  So Ben, there you are.  It appears mine is bigger than yours (what a hoot!) even though you seem to think you can fool everyone on your self importance.  My philosophy seems to be more popular so perhaps now we can see why you and your ilk are relegated to the back bench.

But, America is a great country.  It doesn't stop foolish people full of hubris and self importance (John Edwards?) to give it a try and see if the people will support them.  Keep trying Ben, maybe you and your ilk will prevail someday, I am too tired for another go.

My suggestion to these self important people is to humble up, keep your responses to a minimum and you won't look as foolish as you have been every day.
