Rants for April 15, 2018

Tax day for Americans and look what else we get.  A four trillion dollar spending spree by the feds with an income of 3 trillion.  What the heck?  Add the state and local and special district amounts and Americans are now serfs.  And the bottom earners, those benefitting from the top earners, pay zilch into the federal system.  Yet they receive the protection of the military and many get a handout from the government.  Something is amiss.

The dmocrats say the tax reform bill benefitted the rich in America.  Well duh!  They pay the bulk of the taxes.  And the poor who don't pay any only gets what they get as the government redistributes.  How can a poor person bitch that somehow those "rich" people get their money at the expense of those poor people?  I mean, does that poor person send their taxes they don't pay to those rich people?  Common sense is not a democrat operative's strong point I guess.  I truly would like them to explain how a rich person gets richer by exploiting a poor person.  Does the poor guy hire the rich guy?  No, it is the other way around.  And why is fiscal success so bad?  In America, the capitalist system enables all of us to gain financial success.  But you have to take advantage of that free education those rich people supply.  And you have to stay in the school system and get a degree or a trade.  But no, these whiners about the rich just want a handout as they sit on the couch eating bonbons and popping out kids with no family man in tow.  I say all Americans need skin in the game.  All should contribute to the budget.  Maybe the scofflaws at the trough would change their minds about balanced budgets if they had to pay to play.

We lost a couple of young men this last week to a drunk driving woman and the community is distraught.  I too am so saddened.  Yet the system almost failed justice when the drunken woman was allowed a low bail and left the jail.  But someone was paying attention and said WAIT!  She killed two people with her car and the bail should be much more.  I asked a question on the Union.com's website comment stream on this article.  I said does anyone know if she is a citizen?  It has been common knowledge that a lot of od crime and other disasters are being perpetrated by illegals.  Well, no response on my question except some woman who called me a racist prick for asking the question.  Checking her Facebook link that woman might be illegal herself.  Anyway, I don't care that some babe called me a name.  I like to question and perhaps she will rethink her attack.

Then we have the ridiculous article by a Dale Berkheimer in the Union yesterday.  His whole schtick is the Republicans will lose the Congress and he listed all the reasons how that will come about.  Of course, I cannot let the propaganda from the left be unanswered.  I said, in my opinion, it is way to early to project a democrat takeover and November is way down the road p[olitically.  Politics is a fast-changing thing and a lot can happen in a short period of time.  Plus these democrats think Americans don't know they got some tax reform and more money in their checks?  And that Trump's deregulations are spurring the economy and employment to levels not seen in decades?  Do these democrats really believe the talking points spewed out every day by their masters?  Apparently.  I do my best to analyze the news and the trends but honestly, there is no way I see a democrat wave.  The democrats think Trump will make it happen for them.  But I say the "Economy" is the test.

We all got to watch Mark Zuckerberg testify in Congress this week.  Millions if not billions of people use his baby, Facebook? and so do I.  I use it for simply staying in touch with family and friends.  I resist putting too much private info on the page.  But the questioning of Zman by the Congress was pretty funny.  They don't have a clue about how things work yet they want to regulate it.  Zman got in trouble last year when it became known that Facebook was excising conservative news and embellishing liberal and democrat news on its site.  And then it got outed for helping Obama and the democrats in 2012 allowing them to data mine.  Oops, then a Republican did the same thing in 2016 and all hell broke loose.  Democrats are now PO'd at Zman for not controlling the data mining that Trump's side did.  Oh my, goose meet gander.  So when a democrat does it all good.  No problem.  Republicans!  Oh my, regulate.  I say keep the government out of the internet and let it be free of regulation.  If people don't like Zman's politics, join another site.

Today's SacBee has a story on page 1B about a Hmong family from Sacramento.  The parents arrived here after the fall of Laos in 1975.  They were helpers to the Americans during the war and the commies would have killed them for sure.  They came to this country with nothing.  The article explains how they succeeded in achieving the American Dream.  They had ten kids and all have become true successes.  Cops, accountants, nurses and one lawyer.  And these people could not even speak the language.  Their kids are now in the mainstream and I must say they are a perfect example of what people can achieve if they try in our system.  The movie "Gran Torino" is one I recommend to see these fine people.

I found the antithesis of the Hmong success story on page 2D by lawyer/professor Erwin Cherminsky.  He teaches at Berkely I believe.  Anyway, he cries the blues that minorities, blacks, and Hispanics, are doing terrible and MLK would not be happy.  But wait, he leaves out those successful ASIANS in his diatribe against his fellow Caucasians.  I don't understand why he would do that?  Maybe a liberal guilt trip?  These leftwing liberals are all so filled with "white privilege" guilt they just can't accept that people make their own way.  And some fail.  Asians seem to have it right.  Tight family values, push to educate their kids, work and sacrifice to make that all happen.  And yes, they are the biggest earners and successful group in America!  Maybe the others need to emulate them?

  3. Pelline is making fun of Barry Pruett's college. Now what kind of dick does that? Oh one that used to get coffee for Herb Caen? Anyway Pelline is making fun of a college he says may not make it yet the paper he says he worked at, the SF Chronicle is a ghost of its glory days. Yet no one is making fun of that. Pelline is just a punk. I heard he is turning purple as he is so obese. Sad.

    1. Typical for someone like Pelline who likes to belittle others to inflate his ego as he is a failure in his own mind and knows it.
That is a typical liberal trait but also an indication of deeper rooted physiological problems and who know when the inner anger will implode like a nuclear weapon. Seems to me his on a very short fuse.

  4. Pelline is now claiming Berkeley is some sort of great school. His alma mater is thought of as the hotbed for anti American free speech and worse. His minions riot and destroy anyone and anything with fire and riot. He truly is unhinged. No wonder he moved here to a peaceful and calm county to escape what he created. Metrosexuals sure are conflicted.

    1. Quite frankly I'm not a fan of state universities. Davis,ok, Berkeley, terrible as both are too liberal but Davis is a good Vet school.
There are Stanford but USC, is the best.
Pelline's undergraduate is Berkeley and graduate degree at Northwestern but neither seemed to help him hold a job at the Union news paper as he seems to have the educational background but apparently he has failed to understand the "get along attitude?
Seems Mr. Pelline would be better served to remember. It is better to remain a silent and be thought a fool than to speak up and remove all doubt.

    1. Why should I respect rude and not respectful and unprofessional Grass Valley police officers?
I was pulling out of the parking space at the dental office on Bank street across from the UPS store.
I pull on to Bank Street, left turn flasher on and into the street a Grass Valley Police car out of nowhere cant get around me as I am driving my Excursion and rolls down his passenger window and starts yelling and screaming I could write you a $200 ticket, did not get out of his vehicle, was in the oncoming traffic lane then burned rubber when he departed.
      What a frigging asshole.
Guess that is a good reason to not vote for Foster for sheriff.
Where does the Grass Valley P.D. find these jerks?
People speed their asses of in downtown Grass Valley and the police department is too busy to set up radar to start writing tickets and enforce traffic control to enforce traffic speed laws.
Nope I would never vote for Foster.

      Delete
    2. I am confused by your comment. You complain the police were enforcing some violation you committed (and let you go) and you are mad at them for that. Then you complain they don't do enough traffic enforcement.

      Delete
    3. Yes you are confused or uninformed relating to the California Vehicle Code so read my post again. "I pull on to Bank Street, left turn flasher on and into the street a Grass Valley Police car out of nowhere cant get around me as I am driving my Excursion and rolls down his passenger window and starts yelling and screaming I could write you a $200 ticket, did not get out of his vehicle, was in the oncoming traffic lane then burned rubber when he departed."
I pull on to Bank Street, left turn flasher on and into the street.
Per the vehicle code I have staked my claim to that lane.
As you should well know Bank Street is a two lane street and narrow with no double line as Mill street in the business district but should be. There is no stripping at the center line at all.
Regardless the police officer should yielded to me and not tried to pass as parking on the south side in front of the card room and UPS Store narrows the two way traffic lanes.

"You complain the police were enforcing some violation you committed"
But I had the right of way and did commit a violation but the police officer did and to cover his ass turns into a haughty toad.
      Have I clarified your confusion?

      Delete
    4. No it looks like you have a disagreement with the officer. Maybe you overlooked something.

      Delete
    5. There was no disagreement with the officer as he knew I violated no traffic laws.
What it looks like here to me is you not over looked something by failing to understand what I previously wrote and are too thick headed to admit you were wrong.
My goodness you are really a liberal or you are an ignorant product of the inferior public schools you went to up here.
This is a snotty pontification "No it looks like you have a disagreement with the officer. Maybe you overlooked something."
I previously explained that but you are too stupid to get it or a typical bureaucrat or a closet liberal, you twist the truth more than
      a liberal.

      Delete
    6. Sounds like you are a person without a clue about others and their motives. Maybe that is what got the Officer to yell at you. Reading your words here I am on the Officers side.

      Delete
    7. How could I even know his motives as the incident was less than two minutes.
Saying I have no clue about others is an unfair assumption.
      Regardless it's a moot point.
You and I disagree so further discussion is a waste of time.

      Delete
    8. Yes it is. You are not a very nice person.

    9. Not a nice person? More rash assumptions as if we ever met you would find I am.

    10. You obviously have been watching the news and are aware of the Auburn ex-police officer that killed 12 or so people and raped another or so 40+.
One never knows about people and just because they are a police officer should one assume they are pure as the driven snow.
The police officer that yelled at me obviously was not wrapped to tight and had was a hot head and had a violent personality.
For you to assume this behavior is normal tells me it is you that have issues that cause you to jump to incorrect conclusions.
Sometimes it is better remain silent and thought a fool than to speak up and remove all doubt.
I believe you are a bit too authoritarian in your views but that is simply my first take as I do not know you that well.
You are a right wing conservative as am I so you can't be all bad.

He was driving like a idiot and you are a shitty judge and your not one.
Todd I do not care if you read the news or not as you assimilate what you agree with and the rest you regurgitate. WTF is a Fuss Ball? Is that the same as a Dingle Berry.

      Republican party
The endorsement by the District Attorney/Public Defender Association comes almost three months after Jennings formally announced his run for office.
Before that announcement, the Nevada County Republican Party in mid-January endorsed Newell, who said he's registered as no party preference. The entry into the race of Jennings, who elections officials say is a registered Republican, led the local Republicans to withdraw their initial endorsement, per their bylaws, said Bob Hren, chairman of the local party.
Republicans on April 11 held on a vote about an endorsement in the race. They opted against any endorsement. Hren declined comment when asked about the vote.

    2. Of course the deputy DA's will support their boss.
Jennings support by public defenders and defense attorneys is an indication that they are tired of the present DA and need a DA that is fair to all parties.
      Jennings for DA
      Smethers for Sheriff.
      Miller for supervisor.
Don't know about "E" and if the county and cities want affordable housing they need to adopt zero fees, revise zoning to allow more since developers can't and won't provide affording housing as it is now.
It has to be give and take but the county and the cities are all take.

      Delete
    3. The DA is not supposed to be fair to all parties, he is supposed to be the peoples advocate, read that as victims main advocate. The defenders are only about the criminals and don't give a rats ass about the best interests of the people and crime victims. Other than that you are right.

    4. That is a good point. Victims advocate. Defense attorneys are usually representing the scofflaws as are the Public Defenders. Newell has shown he supports the victims and fights for them. He has my support.

The sheriff works with the BOS and a police chief works with the city council.

Let's hear the secret rumors about Foster's baggage.

      Delete
    8. Wrong, the BOS does not dictate to the Sheriff, their only interface is budget and collaborative code development. City Councils tell police chiefs what to do and fire them at will.

Only a recall can remove a sheriff not the board. Totally different environment. That's why it almost never translated to a sheriff position 96% of the time to be specific.

You know, some people actually get bored going into yet another hat store and cramming more expensive food and booze into themselves. The street scene, including the musicians and the poor, is one of the very best things about Nevada City. The streets are the last free space!!!! To the wealthy, who want to make the streets into your backyard (owning businesses and residential properties isn't enough for your greedy hands), I say this: you're not all that. If you want a utopian downtown you go to Disneyland. But when you do, remember real America was never that nice. BECAUSE OUR COUNTRY WAS FOUNDED ON RIGHTS AND YES, RIGHTS CAN BE ANNOYING. AMERICA DOES NOT HAVE ROYALTY SO STOP BEHAVING LIKE KINGS AND QUEENS.

Barry, Experience counts when you’re a Clerk-Recorder or Assessor — a lesson I hope you learned when you lost the Clerk Rercorder’s race in every precinct. And for a County Supervisor, a specific set of job skills is less important because it is more of a “generalist” position. But I’ll grant you that. You’re conflicted, however: You are supporting a candidate who is less qualified than the incumbent for Clerk Recorder, yet you also gave money to an incumbent who has more experience that his challenger for Supervisor. For you, I think, it is all about partisan politics! That’s sad because these positions aren’t supposed to be partisan. On a separate note, you came to this blog in March, while I was enjoying watching the Giants and Cubs at spring training, and said nobody reads this blog. Yet you keep coming back to make comments. No offense, Barry, but you are like gum on my shoe — for almost a decade now. Here’s wishing you as much happiness as I have in my life.

    1. Pelline is the most partisan person in the county. He just can't stand it that Barry is better looking, has a pretty nice and fit girlfriend and some great kids. As far as Barry reading Pelline's blog I admit even I do once in a while. It is fun to read the messed up thinking of a partisan lefty like Pelline. It makes me chuckle that someone can be as dopey. Last, Pelline comes here all the time, perhaps every day to read and then comment as a anonymous. And I don't even care. LOL!

Oh it's the FUE Jeff Pelline who with a masters degree still can't spell his name!
Must have one hell of a time writing checks if he can't spell his name.

Barry: "I don’t know any non-political junkie who knows who the auditor is, yet they all know Diaz.”

Jeff: "Wrong again, Barry. We do know: Our county assessor’s name is Sue Horne."

    Dafuq?! LMAO.

  17. Oh no! Pelline has written a article whining about Jeff Ackerman! Now we know Pelline was fired from the Union and we know he was despised by other employees and many in the community. But this guy cracks me up. I and Jeff Ackerman and Barry Pruett enjoy free space in the limited noggin of Pelline. I bet he he sees the three of us instead of sheep when he goes to sleep. You can't make this stuff up.

    1. Yes donations tell a lot about a candidates moral compass and Diaz deserves the FUE just look at the kind of people paying for the friend of criminals best friends;

Defense attorney David Alkire, who in 2014 ran against Newell, gave $250 to Jennings. Deputy Public Defender Tamara Zuromskis gave $400.
Joey Jordan, a former paid consultant on John Foster's campaign who's now volunteering on his run for sheriff, gave $600. Simply Country gave $4,202.98 in cash and in-kind donations.
Newell's office last year prosecuted Simply Country General Manager Nicholas Chittock, who pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of failing to maintain facilities used to keep animals in a sanitary condition. Chittock was sentenced to a year's probation.

    2. Didn't Jennings wife lend him 14 thousand dollars too? That guy who abused the animals is also a big weed grower too. That's quite a rogues gallery of donations. How could the republicans endorse someone like Jennings with all that baggage?? They must be incredibly desperate.

  21. My response to that stupid partisan propaganda by Nancy Eubanks in today's Union.
"Honestly you have to do better than reprinting the leftwing extremist DailyKos propaganda Nancy. And for you, a secular atheist to preach about Jesus is rich. Liberals don't believe in Jesus but they do believe in a vagina cap. My goodness for every dopey allegation you proclaim here I could give a counter. But it is of no use to a liberal hater. Admit it, you have Trump derangement syndrome and there is no cure for you and your ilk.

Trump has turned the country around from the failures of Obama and the democrats. Bernie Sanders is now screeching about free money for all and free this and that =even for a job. Do you realize every time you liberal loons print this tripe another million people come over to the light and support us on the right?

All the folks Trump has hired and fired reflect real life. If he thinks someone is a good fit he hires them. If it doesn’t work out he fires them. Just like real life. Liberals will promote their scofflaws and one only has to see the corrupt Obama regime for proof of that. All the wrong doing and most of them were promoted.

Republicans and conservatives want people to be free. Free from you ordering their lives for them. My goodness you are all about making people dependent on the government so you can control them and get their vote. We want to teach them to fish. You want to take our fish and give it away by force. There is a whole lot of difference between we on the right and you on the left. Bottom line is you think you have the right to take a free people's stuff and give it to whomever you favor. That is called communism/socialism. Americans don't like that.

And for you to complain about ethics is a total joke. You support Newsom and Villaraigosa for Governor and both are drunks and womanizers. Newsom even had a sexual affair with his best friends wife. My goodness, not a peep from you. And Lois Lerner tossing conservative groups requests before Obama’s re-election? You praise that criminal. And Bill Clinton Is your hero. The man is constantly flying to Pedo Island with his pal Epstein. While Hillary is selling our countries uranium to the Russians. Not a peep. So when you secular atheists start getting some ethics that Jesus taught, don’t be preaching to us. We already know."
