Looking through the returns and results for Maine made me a very happy conservative.
The November 30 final final shows a new Republican Governor, Paul LePage, a State Senate switch from 20-15 D to 20-14 R, 1 indie, and a State House switch from 94-55 D to 78-72 R. Wow, and this is the farthest Northeast state, a liberal stronghold for a long time.
The reason I like this so much is because I have never cared much for their US Senators, Olympia Snow and Susan Collins. They have always been wishy-washy and have bailed on fellow Republicans on some very important votes over the years. Now with a strong support system of R's back home, maybe they won't stray from the reservation as much any more. I can only hope. Remember Maine!
